Chapter 310 - We Need Substantial Proof
"The report?" The little girl questioned without beating around the bush.
Butler Limo bowed to his Young Miss as he nodded in acceptance of the order she had given to him.
Every time their Young Miss appeared at the stable, she would have two motives on her mind.
One was to visit her etcher with whom she only got to spend a limited amount of time each day and the other was concerning a certain issue in their household.
"No movements as of now, Miss." He reported with a frown as he was dissatisfied with this turn of events.
They did not have to mention it to know that they were talking about the same person.
The maid at the center of their scrutiny was the one they were talking about and the fact that she had remained silent was causing the little girl to be perplexed.
Yvonne rubbed her chin as she tried to decipher the intentions hidden behind this change in the maid's demeanor.
'For Paula, every day is valuable if she wishes to get closer to Papa so why hasn't she made her move yet?' She wondered as this was opposite to what she had expected.
Logic dictates that if one was desperate to obtain something then they would work hard or scheme hard to achieve it.
However, this maid was not even lifting a finger to do so which had bewildered this pair of Little Miss and Butler.
"Why has she not made any move? Any reason for this change?" She inquired further with her brows furrowed.
It took Butler Limo a moment to think of what the cause of this change might be before it struck him.
"Madam!" He yelled out in his excitement.
Yvonne's head whiplashed to the entrance of the stable as she tried to catch sight of her mother whom the Butler had called out to.
Though, even after staring at the door for a few seconds, her mother was nowhere to be seen.
"Miss? The Madam is the reason for this change." Butler Limo whispered when he realized that his words had caused the girl to misunderstand things.
This brought a scowl to her face as she narrowed her eyes at the old man.
'No wonder I was surprised to hear him scream like that!' She glowered at him as this was their secret meeting place where no one would dare to sneak around.
Therefore she was stunned when she heard him call out her mother's title in such an excited manner.
Taking a few seconds to calm her agitated mind, Yvonne looked up at him while tilting her head.
"What about Mama?" She interrogated and hoped he would not give her any more jumpscares.
Butler Limo scratched his neck sheepishly at her skeptical face and henceforth, decided to be careful with his words.
"Madam has been assigning tasks to the maid which keep her busy all day. This leaves her tired and all she does at the end of the day is snore away in her room." He revealed the information he had received from the other maids who resided with her.
Until now, he was under the impression that their Madam had a lot of tasks that she needed her maid to look after but now he had a deeper understanding of her decisions.
"She is wary of her maid now." Yvonne announced what she interpreted from this information.
He nodded along with her because this same thought had come to his mind as well.
"Not enough!" He heard his Young Miss declare while shaking her head.
He did not interrupt her and continued to pay attention to what she had to say.
"If she is cautious and watchful of her maid's actions then this means that she has begun noticing that her maid has eyes on her husband." She deduced according to what she heard.
'But this lady still hasn't kicked that maid out of the house…' She sighed at her mother's heart which failed to discard the only piece of the memory she has left from her Maiden family.
However, this sense of familiarity might very well be the cause of her doom if she did not do something about it.
The link connecting Raylene to her Maiden family might become the reason for the destruction of her link connecting her to the St. Claire's family.
"We need substantial proof about Paula's impure thoughts to prove that she is bad for the household." She muttered in a serious tone.
What was the use of keeping such a servant by your side when you have to be guarded against them at all times?
It was true that Paula was the only memory of her Maiden family which she could keep by her side at all times but what would Raylene do if that same memory came around to spite her?
Paula needed to leave and the sooner it was, the better it would be for everyone.
"What would happen if my mother wasn't around to keep Paula busy with tasks all day?" She inquired while rubbing her chin.
This question made the Butler's eyes widen as he feared what the Young Miss might have in mind.
'Don't look at me like that!' She rolled her eyes at his dumbfounded face.
"Answer me." She commanded when she noticed his frozen body.
Snapping out of his daze, he bowed in apology and then nodded in answer to her question.
"If Madam were to leave the Mansion without the maid then there might be a chance of her making a move on the Master." He acknowledged through gritted teeth.
Yvonne did not reply to his words but her eyes glinted dangerously as certain thoughts swirled around her mind.
A plan that she would need to execute soon enough was emerging in her mind at this very moment.
'If taking Mama out of the Mansion is needed to get Paula to act on her thoughts then I shall do just that.' She determined her plan of action within a few seconds.
A plan to bring back the smile which had faded from her mother's face in recent times while ensuring that Paula would make her move.
'That would be killing two birds with one stone.' She smirked at the brilliant plan she had come up with.
Taking in her scary smile, Butler Limo shuddered but gathered his courage to ask what she was up to.
"Miss, what might your plan be?" He requested to let him in on this plan.
'Oh, you have a major role in this plan so how could I ever leave you in the dark?' She chuckled at his frightened appearance.
"You, Mr. Butler, have to…" She began her narration of what their plan of action would be.
The more he listened to what she had thought of, the more his eyes widened and his anxiety rose.
"But Miss! What if...!?" He clamored but covered his hands over his big mouth which had almost said something dreadful.
Yvonne smirked because she knew just what the Butler was thinking about that had caused him to react in such a strong way.
"Now that would depend on whether he truly loves my Mama or his love fades at the sight of another woman." She muttered in response as she rose from her seat, making the Butler realize that she was well aware of his thoughts.
Her work here had come to an end so she decided to return to her room.
"I will speak to them tonight at dinner so be ready to start preparations." She instructed to which he bowed his head in acceptance.
Yvonne walked to her etcher and patted his head while whispering something in his ear but the Butler had heard it too, resulting in him gulping his saliva in nervousness.
"You need to keep an eye on Papa and let me know whether he slips up." She ordered her pet who nodded to her words.
Glancing at the Butler, she smiled innocently but the vicious glint in her eyes indicated that she was aware of his inner thoughts.
Not giving him a chance to explain himself, she turned around and walked out of the stable with her head held high.
'He is Papa's Butler so it is clear where his loyalty lays.' She sneered as she walked back to the Mansion.
Earlier when he had blurted out his thoughts, she knew what he meant by that.
"What if the Master fell for her tricks?" Was what he was about to say but stopped in the nick of time but she knew it all too well.
She also knew that if Rutherford ever slipped up then Butler Limo would have no other choice but to cover it up from everyone's sight as that was what a good Butler would do.
Even if Butler Limo felt disgusted by that woman who was eyeing their Master, he would not have any choice but to support her by cleaning up the mess they created.
Therefore, she had asked her etcher to keep an eye on the man who owned this land.
On the day that their plan would be executed, if Rutherford did commit such an atrocious crime of being unfaithful to his wife then the horse would know for sure thanks to his keen sense of smell.
Once she had proof of this, then no one could change the fact that their family would be broken into two.
'For the sake of this family's future… I hope you remain faithful.' She prayed that her father stayed true without getting distracted by the momentary pleasure which might destroy their family.
Back in the stable, the Butler hoped the same while dreading the arrival of the day when this plan would be executed.
