Chapter 276 - A Vacation Tour
Two little birds sat on the window sill of a bedroom in a mansion.
A larger blue bird with magnificent golden feathers at the end of its tail sat next to the little and slightly plump white bird.
"Master, why have we come over here?" The little white bird whispered while leaning closer to the blue bird.
The blue bird shot a scowling glance at the little one which made him take a step away to recreate the distance between them.
"We are in our bird forms so what are you whispering for?" The bigger bird sneered at his bird-brained disciple for not comprehending the situation well.
True to what he had said, if someone had witnessed this scene then they would only see two little birds sitting on a window and chirping away melodiously.
This was the reason for the rebuking words that had been said just now.
"Apologies, Master!" The little white bird chirped and even lowered his head to express his deep apologies before the bigger one.
In response, only a scoff was heard before their conversation died down again.
The two birds were none other than Asmodeus Del Ovin and his naive disciple, Theo.
The God and disciple pair had been on a vacation tour around the world recently.
The last destination they had been to was the luscious vineyards of a certain breathtaking valley where they had the entire place to themselves.
The early morning's misty veil was surrounding the hill where they sat and admired the sun's first rays as it fell on them.
Asmodeus, the god who loved his wine was having the time of his life sipping the aged beauty which he swirled in his glass.
The little disciple sat at the side and continued to serve his Master by refilling his glass at regular intervals.
The advantage of being a god was that he did not have to bother about getting a hangover while enjoying all of the benefits of being drunk.
However, this peaceful morning had come to an abrupt end when Theo's Master felt a strange premonition.
Asmodeus who had been sipping his delectable wine to cherish its taste had to gulp it down in one go after he had felt this oddity.
'I can't believe I had to gulp it down like a heathen!' He cursed the cause of his hurried actions.
In the next moment, he formed a circle in thin air using his palm which brought about a portal leading him to another place.
Theo jumped up when he saw that his Master had created a time and space portal which gave him the ability to move whenever and wherever he pleased.
"Master?" He had called out in his panic when he saw that Asmodeus had cast another spell, this time on himself.
The human body which he had been present in was surrounded by a bright and blinding light but for the disciple, this was nothing new.
He did not even flinch nor did he have to shield his eyes from the light as he was not a mortal who might be harmed by this source of radiance.
Soon, the glowing white light around the god's body faded and he appeared to have reverted to his little bird's form as a blue bird was visible, hovering in the place where the beautiful man once stood.
This transformation had surprised the younger boy as the pair of Master and Disciple had not donned their bird form ever since they had come over to this vineyard.
Therefore, it was no wonder that Theo was surprised when he saw that his Master had decided to go back to his bird form.
His startled appearance was noticed by the god who flapped his wing before his face.
"You may stay here if you like." Asmodeus' impatient words echoed in his ear while he stood frozen in bewilderment.
Snapping out of his daze, Theo shook his head in profuse rejection and hurried to turn into his bird form as well.
A golden light surrounded his body and his child-like appearance transformed into the white bird which was always next to the blue one.
Leaving everything as it was, the pair of Master and Disciple dove into the portal.
Theo did not hesitate to follow his Master and chose to dive into the mysterious portal without questioning him about where it would lead them.
Asmodeus did not explain anything to him as they began their short journey.
Theo could see the portal opening up again which meant that they had reached their destination.
The two birds exited the portal which then vanished as though it had never existed in the first place.
Theo was curious to know where they had arrived as he scanned his surroundings while flapping his wings to remain hovering in the air.
The sight that met his eyes was the thick green trees all around them and the fresh unpolluted air which he greedily breathed in.
'This looks familiar…' Theo surmised as he continued to scan his surroundings to make sense of where they were right now.
The more he looked, the more he looked like he understood where they were.
'We've gone inside the jewel.' He nodded his head when he realized that this place was the world that his great master had created.
He turned to his right only to find that his master was looking in some other direction.
Peeping in that direction, he noticed that four boys were walking together and it appeared as though they were heading their way.
However, they were high up in the sky and the tall branches camouflaged their presence as the boys walked away without suspecting that someone was watching them.
The boys passed them by and then entered the mansion while the birds remained watching from the sidelines.
Asmodeus' grey eyes were fixed on the group of boys until they disappeared after entering the mansion.
Once they were no longer in his field of view, the blue bird flapped his wings, creating a strong gust of wind that blew away a few weak levels which were dangling on the branches.
'If this was a few days ago then I would have been swept away due to the pressure of the gust.' Theo gritted his teeth while steadying his body.
He bore the pressure of the winds created by his Master thanks to the training that he had been undergoing these past few days.
The concept of time in the upper realm where the gods resided worked differently when compared to the world they were in right now.
What was considered as months in this world was just a matter of days in their world.
Thus, it had only been a few days that Asmodeus and his disciple had spent on the tour but for the world they had entered, it was well past a few months.
While Theo was in his thoughts about the time difference and how much he had learned from his Master, he noticed that the blue bird was flying away from him.
This prompted him to rush head to catch up with his Lord and once he had done so, he followed where his master was leading him.
'Isn't that?' He thought in surprise when he saw that his Master's flight had come to an end as he perched on the window sill of a certain room which they were all too familiar with.
