Chapter 259 - Her Plan For The Future
Inside her room, Yvonne was sitting before the silver mirror as her maid wiped her long violet tresses which were wet after her bath.
The little girl was unaware of the conversation her brother was having with the three boys.
She sat in a blissful daze before the mirror as today, she had taken a step closer towards her goal of living a happy and peaceful life in this world.
'Time will fly away and before I know it, the main timeline of the script will begin.' She speculated and the need to prepare for her future seemed more urgent than ever.
If she wished to live a better life than to follow the path that was destined for her according to the script then she had a lot of work cut out for her.
She was still five years right now but it wouldn't take long for the main story to commence soon.
'In my fifteenth year, the main story would start with the return of the female lead, Hilda to the Capital city.' She remembered the plot of the script that the evil blue bird had written.
Her only desire was to keep herself safe from the sad and distressing fate of death due to an unknown disease that she would get soon after her marriage to the Grand Duke according to the script.
'To avoid that, I need to remain healthy and keep away from dangerous people.' She gritted her teeth in determination.
Her plan for the future was to stay away from the main characters in the story which she would strive hard towards at all costs.
Once she steered clear of that fate, her second agenda was to build her own business empire.
'One that could compete with father's!' The little girl had big dreams hidden in those wide amethyst eyes.
The first step for which was to show her family that she was not a weak little girl who could only hide behind the sturdy backs of the men in the family.
She could defend herself and with time even protect others around her.
'And if I earn money in the process, I wouldn't be all that mad.' She giggled at the thought of the money which would come pouring in soon enough.
Mrs. Jacinth smiled as she served her Miss by wiping her hair following which she combed it gently.
"Will Miss be continuing to train with the Captain?" She spoke up after giving it some thought.
Yvonne was pulled out her money-minting thoughts and nodded in obvious acceptance.
"That is the condition we had agreed upon while making the deal for the assessment." She disclosed as she looked at the reflection of her maid in the mirror.
'Only by doing this would they know that I can bear with this training and not give up like they had expected me to.' She pouted because they did not believe in her capabilities at first.
Thus, she had worked hard to prove herself to her brother and parents in order to let them approve of her classes with the Captain.
The dangers that she might face in the future were unpredictable and she needed to be trained and prepared for whatever fate throws her way.
The maid knew of her plan to continue training but she still felt conflicted and worried about what the future might hold for her Miss.
Not only did the Captain seem like a cruel man, but there was also the matter about the three outsiders who had seen her abilities today.
'Why isn't she happy?' Yvonne tilted her head in confusion when she saw the maid's slight frown.
"Miss, this maid fears that people might find fault with you if the news of your training spreads in the Capital." She shared the cause of her dampened expressions.
This information made Yvonne ponder for a while as the maid was not wrong in what she had said.
'The people here think that women are too weak and need to be protected and remain hidden in the safety of their homes.' She scowled at the backward thinking of the populous.
Though the King of the land was trying to change this type of prejudiced mentality of the people, it was not something that could be done easily.
King Ophire did not want his daughter to live in a Kingdom where everyone constantly let her know that she was inferior and not worthy of something just because she was a girl.
Thus, from the day he found out that he had a newborn daughter, he began creating reforms in the current laws of the land.
While his intentions were selfish and only to make his child's life better, he was helping every other woman and girl in the Kingdom by implementing these new laws.
The biggest step he had taken to improve the current situation was to allow the girls to learn the same subjects as the boys did in the Royal Academy.
The tutors their families invited would teach them the same subjects as their brothers learned in their academies.
This brought them a step closer to cross the large chasm of gender discrimination that was prevalent to this day.
While it did aid in diminishing the differences between the education given to the boys and girls, the treatment given to each widely varied.
The boys were free to do pretty much anything and no one would question them unless they did something morally wrong but a girl would have multiple eyes on her to point out each thing that she had done wrong.
This was what the maid was worried about as the training that her young miss was undergoing was only something that boys could do.
No girl had ever taken up that task and even went on to complete it as she had done.
Yvonne soon understood the source of the maid's troubles and found that they were indeed reasonable.
'I should do something to ensure that they keep their mouths shut.' She decided and began thinking of a plan to keep today's events a secret.
She could discern that the Tanner brothers wouldn't be much of a problem but the same could not be said for the other boy who was with them.
'How should I have a conversation with him if I cannot even look at him without feeling that shooting pain in my chest?' She gritted her teeth when she had already faced an obstacle before she could think of a plan to achieve her goal.
Thus, Yvonne St. Claire began trying to make a proper strategy to ensure that her training with the Captain continued to remain a secret from the other noble families.
'At least till I am ready to face them with my own capabilities.' She was determined to work harder towards this goal.
"I will speak to Papa about this." She added when she saw the still frowning face of her maid.
With this assurance from her miss, Mrs. Jacinth kept her worries aside and began helping the young girl get dressed for the lunch banquet the Countess had prepared for them.

In another portion of the mansion, three men sat in the parlor as they sipped tea.
"You know why I have asked to meet here, don't you?" The Earl questioned as he placed his cup on the table between them.
Three men sat on three sides of the table while the last side was left empty with the window right behind it from which the bright sun's rays were entering the room.
The man sitting on the opposite side of the Earl nodded his head in admittance of being cognizant of the cause of this invitation.
"Of course, I do." Captain Desmo Reel scoffed in reply at his old friend and sat up straight in his seat.
The other man present in the room who was seated at the couch adjacent to theirs had confusion written all over his face as he observed the exchange between the two men.
Rutherford St. Claire and Desmo Reel both turned in the direction of the pair of curious red eyes that were watching them with keen attention.
Noticing that their conversation had come to a halt and that they were staring at him, the third man waved his hand to dismiss their vigilance.
"Oh, don't mind my presence and carry on. I am here for the tea." Marquess Samed announced as he took a greedy sip of the tea in his cup.
The twitching of their lips at his shameless actions did not cause any discomfort to the Marquess as he continued to smile at them and gestured them to move along in their conversation.
