Chapter 189 - Did I Find A Loophole?
Yvonne felt like her heart was jumping about in excitement when she heard his acceptance of her idea.
"Papa is the best!" She yelled out, forgoing the etiquette lessons that Rutherford had paid heavily for.
Surprisingly, the delighted father did not mind her flaws this time as she had done so for the sake of praising him.
Yvonne felt the need to roll her eyes when she saw that he was not about to chide her as she had given him a compliment.
'Did I find a loophole?' She wondered as a glint of surprise flashed through her eyes.
A loophole that she would make sure to exploit once she was confident of its efficiency in the near future.
Rutherford soon pushed down the joy in his heart as he wanted to discuss certain important matters with his child.
"Vonna, if you want the deal with the Baron then you have to make an ironclad agreement that he needs to sign." He dictated the terms on which he would accept her idea.
'So instead of contracts, they use agreements?' She wondered and then tossed this comparison out of her mind.
As long as the effects were the same, she did not care what the people of this Kingdom called the contracts that she was used to in her old world.
Before Yvonne could express her acknowledgment of his demand, she frowned when she saw the man rise from his seat.
Without waiting for her to comprehend the situation, he came over to her side and was swift in his actions as he picked her up from her seat.
'Here we go again!' The little girl sneered as she was picked up without a word once again.
Rutherford held his child in his arms as he strode out of the room.
Upon exiting the room, Yvonne noticed that there were two people standing guard outside her room.
'Paula must have followed mother.' She assumed and then glanced at her old nanny who stood next to the Butler who was bowing to the Master.
Yvonne realized that they must have been here all along which made her frown.
"Nanny, take your break now." She instructed in a stern voice which did not give the old lady any chance to refuse it.
Mrs. Jacinth bowed in admittance and shot her an appreciative glance before making her way out of the corridor that she had been standing at for more than half an hour.
Butler Limo was aware of the Young Miss' decision which made him smile at how sensible the little girl was.
However, Rutherford wasn't as knowledgeable as the Butler about this.
So he frowned while watching the maid who left them and then turned his questioning eyes towards his daughter.
'What was that for?' His query was clear for them to decipher.
Yvonne shook her head at the muddleheaded man she called her father and then decided to explain why she had given out that order.
"Mrs. Jacinth has weak knees and standing for too long will cause her knees to hurt." She expressed her reason for sending the maid away.
Rutherford wanted to say something else but refrained from doing so when he saw the pleasant smile that had appeared on her face.
Thus, he ignored this matter and returned to the task at hand which was to move to a different location.
Butler Limo followed after them and was sure where they were heading towards.
'That's the direction towards his…' Yvonne recalled and understood what her father had in mind.
Soon the father and daughter stood before a huge black door with the Butler standing a few feet away from them.
Rutherford followed the same steps as last time and unlocked the big door which creaked open after the key was twisted into the keyhole.
'That makes a horrible sound!' The child grimaced when she felt her ears ache due to that screeching noise that the door emitted.
The study that was a sacred space for Rutherford was being visited by Yvonne for the second time.
He placed the child on the same couch once they had locked the door after entering the room.
"Shall we continue our discussion?" He inquired as he brought out a sheet of paper and a pen for them to use.
Yvonne was more than willing to cooperate as this was meant to be for her future's benefit.
The Earl was satisfied with her eager nod and began writing a few lines onto the paper which had been empty and unused until now.
He questioned her about the events which had taken place at the cafe and she answered them truthfully without skipping a single detail.
She felt that the extensive and detailed questions that he was asking must have some meaning which was still unknown to her.
A few minutes later and the interview came to an end with Rutherford having a complete understanding of what went down between the child and the Baron.
'I'll see how Baron MacIntyre does not agree to this deal.' He smirked which made the air around him turn colder by the second.
Since this was something his child had set her mind on and had no chance of her getting harmed, he would make sure that she got what she desired.
Yvonne shuddered when she felt the chilly air around her which made her rub her shoulders to find some warmth.
Rutherford reverted to his usual doting and indulgent expression after he realized that he had caused his child inconvenience.
"How much percentage of the profit do you wish to gain from this agreement?" He questioned to get her mind off the other matters.
The man rubbed his chin as he tried to ponder what would be an appropriate price that they might mention in the contract.
"How about 10%? Or we can even go up to 15%. What do you think?" He advised her as he was sure that his Vonna would not know much about the business world.
Sadly, he was soon going to be proved wrong as Yvonne shook her head in staunch disagreement with the percentages that he had mentioned.
While he was worried that she might ask for a lower price than what he had said, he heard his beloved daughter speaking up for herself.
"30%" She uttered in a confident and resolute tone which was similar to when she had ordered the maid to take her break.
Rutherford was dazed for a second as he had the impression that she was ordering him as well about the price that needs to be set in the agreement.
However, the man shook his head and rejected that his daughter would ever order him to do anything as she was his innocent and docile angel who could never do such a thing.
'Did I just behave like my old self for a moment there?' Yvonne hit the nail on the mark with her first guess as that was what she had just done.
The former Yvonne, the CEO of Platina Entertainment had emerged for a moment there before she assimilated with the child that she had now become.
To do some damage control to ensure that her father did not doubt her strange behavior, she tilted her head and pouted while gazing at him.
"Did I say something that I should not have?" She investigated with the pout remaining on her face which made the man shake his head in denial.
'How can Vonna do something like that?' He soothed his suspicious heart and smiled at his daughter who was the apple of his eye.
