Thrown Into A New World: Let The Punishment Begin!

Chapter 168 - A Pleasant Surprise

'Why did I meet her here!?' This thought was whirling around in Yvonne's head as she tried her best to not appear agitated which she most certainly was.

Raylene had been standing a few steps away from them and observing their little interaction.

She could not stop gushing over the fact that her precious little girl was socializing with the daughters from other noble families.

'Vonny is doing a great job! Mama is cheering for you!' She exclaimed in her heart and stood at the sidelines with Paula next to her.

Yvonne was now on the verge of hyperventilating due to this disaster that was like a train wreck to her plans of staying away from the main characters of the script.

'Stop panicking, Yvonne St. Claire!' She chided her troubled heart.

She took deep calming breaths as she demanded her heart to stop palpitating so hard as she feared the girls next to her could hear them.

Once Glennise Brodie had finished saying her piece, she smiled at the girl standing before her as though she had not just mocked her.

The smile which was laced with insult was apparent to Yvonne but she was least bothered by it as she had much bigger problems to face when compared to the taunts of a child.

'I am trying to stay away from them but I keep getting into situations where I am being pulled into the story by some weird coincidences!' She lamented her pitiful fate.

First was the encounter with the male lead when she had saved him from being drowned even when all she desired to do was to stand on the sidelines and watch the show.

Then came the playmate position that she had succeeded in staying away from.

The next was when Marquess Samed had tried to get her involved with the King in connection to the plague and she had managed to ensure that the man remained silent about her work in this regard.

Thus keeping her away from the King's eyes or so she thought.

The final incident was today, right now.

Though she had succeeded in staying away from the playmate position, she had a chance encounter with the main villainess of the story.

'I should have returned home with her when I had the chance!' She cursed her luck for the time that she had insisted on continuing with the shopping spree.

If she had not asked Raylene to continue then she never would have met Glennise but what had been done cannot be undone.

While she was crying over her nasty fate where she kept coming in contact with the people she did not wish to ever meet, Rika Kiron was biting her lip as she stared at Glennise.

"I am sorry, Miss Glennise. I will not hinder our progress in the next class." She muttered as she lowered her head.

Glennise had been trying to gauge how and why Yvonne had declined such a great opportunity but when she heard Rika's words she realized that she had spoken a little too much.

"It might take some time to get used to Process Felicia's learning speed so there is no need to be sorry for that." She consoled the girl who had now become her friend.

Princess Felicia was the daughter of the ruler of the land, therefore how could she be any lower than the other kids of the Kingdom.

She had the blood of the Rosenhydes coursing through her veins which made her exceptional in everything she did, including her studies.

Even Glennise had taken time to adjust to the high learning pace of the Princess so it was acceptable that Rika who was lower than her would take more time in getting acquainted with it.

The last time that they had been taught a new lesson, the Princess and Glennise had to wait until Rika had thoroughly learned it as well.

The daughter of the Marquess Kiron's family was under the impression that Glennise had made that statement due to her lack of skills when compared to Yvonne.

However, after receiving the comforting words from the Duke's daughter, she smiled and nodded along.

Yvonne observed the interaction taking place between the two children and there was one thing that had popped up in her mind.

'There is still time before she turns into that evil, obnoxious, and overbearing woman who would interrupt the Prince whenever he is trying to get with Hilda.' She recalled and a smile appeared on her face.

She couldn't help it now that this character had made an appearance before her, all she could do was to tweak the plan that she had made in the first place.

'If I cannot stay away from them then there is still one thing that I can do to keep my future in this world safe and tragedy-free!' She applauded her brilliant mind that had thought up such an amazing plan in just a few moments.

Thus began Yvonne St. Claire's new plan of 'Blending in with the surroundings'.

'All I need to do is be bland and ordinary so as to not attract their attention towards me.' She decided and then prepared to take her first step in this plan.

While Rika and Glennise were conversing about how remarkable Princess Felicia was, Yvonne cleared her throat to get their attention.

The two girls turned in her direction and waited for her to speak with curiosity apparent in their eyes.

"It was nice to meet you again, Miss Rika, and a pleasure to be introduced to you, Miss Brodie." She spoke up in a clear and confident voice.

Neither was she too submissive nor was she haughty and superior. Her attitude towards the two girls was similar without discriminating one from the other.

Usually, one would treat Glennise better when compared to Rika thanks to her social status but Yvonne had done none of that today.

She spoke to both of them with the same amount of respect that she would give to someone their age.

"It was a pleasant surprise to meet the two of you here." She chuckled and covered her mouth with her handkerchief just like her etiquette tutor had taught her.

'Not! It was a terrible and horrifying jumpscare to see you two here!' She scowled in her heart what her true thoughts were.

"Sadly, I would have to take my leave even though I wish I could spend some more time with you and get to know you better." She shook her head as though she pitied the fact that she did not have enough time to do so today.

'Neither do I want to spend time with either of you nor do I want to get to know you better. Everything that I know about you just compels me to stay away from you.' She sneered as she adjusted her expressions before moving the cloth away from her lips.

Finally, the girl with bright amethyst eyes smiled at the two little girls and waved her hand.

"It is time for me to take my leave now and I hope we get to meet some other day!" She concluded her speech and then turned around.

'Hope we meet never!' She prayed and then glanced at her mother who was standing in the same place as before.

"Come, Mama, Vonny is hungry!" She exclaimed with a childish voice and held her mother's hand, dragging her towards the entrance of the cafe.
