Chapter 125 - Want To Touch
Yvonne's feet moved towards the grazing field that was on the other side of the stable.
The fields were green with fresh blades of grass growing in abundance and at a distance, she could see the view of the beautiful horizon.
'This line dividing the green and the blue always fascinates me!' She remarked as she stared at the horizon.
As her gaze followed the empty fields, she turned her head to the right and that was when she realized that the fields weren't as empty as she had thought them to be.
Captain Desmo Reel had been observing her movements from his hiding place as he peeped to spy on her from the edge of the wooden pillar of the stable.
His Precious stood still to ensure that no one would make out their presence as her master tried to continue peeping at the little child.
Yvonne had forgotten about the peeping tom that she was sure had been spying on her and focused her gaze in one particular direction.
Her feet moved on their own as she walked ahead in the direction that she had been gazing in for a few minutes now.
Desmo Reel's field of vision was restricted as she had moved in the direction that had been blocked by the large wooden stable that he had been using as a cover.
'I need to see where she is heading!' He cursed in his mind and looked down at his Precious.
Understanding what he desired of her, Precious nodded her head and gently stomped her way to the former position by the window.
Here, Desmo jumped off his horse and patted her head after he stood before her.
"Stay. I will see what that child is up to." He instructed her and rubbed her long snout which made her neigh in a low voice.
Hearing her neigh, the other mares and steeds in the stable neighed out loud as well which startled the master and his Precious.
"Shh…" He gestured to his mare who quickly complied with his wishes.
Desmo Reel then sneaked his way to the corner where the door was located to whose right Yvonne had turned after exiting the stable.
He watched the child stepping in a certain direction and noticed that she was following something.
While he was noticing the little girl's actions, Precious was glaring at the horses inside the stable who were neighing at the strange horse who had approached their stable.
Desmo turned around and shot a stern gaze at his Precious for causing this ruckus who in turn let out an aggrieved neigh followed by a soft whimper.
He sighed and then looked away when he saw that it was not his Precious's fault for being so graceful that the other horses liked her.
When he moved his gaze back to the child, what the Captain witnessed next made him rush back to his Precious and mounted her in haste.
"Hurry, precious!" He yelled, making the horse neigh louder than ever as she began galloping according to her master's commands.
The reason for this haste was what Captain Desmo had seen and he pulled the reins of his Precious to make her run faster so that he might reach Yvonne at the earliest.
___
When Yvonne had started moving towards the figure she saw, she had not known that what she was moving towards would cause her to get the scare of her life.
As she was gazing at the horizon, she had noticed that there was a small pony a short distance away from her.
'Beautiful!' She exclaimed as her eyes stared at the magnificent creature that was leisurely grazing over the fields.
The black mane that cascaded over its equally dark body made Yvonne's eyes sparkle as she tilted her head, scrutinizing the beauty of this little pony.
Her feet stepped in its direction and the further she moved closer to it, the more she became mesmerized by it.
'Perfect coat, looks healthy, docile, and seems tamed.' She remarked as she came to a step closer.
However, her eyes narrowed as with each step the horse seemed to grow larger in size.
This was when she noticed that the distance between them was making the might horse seem like a short and healthy pony from afar.
Now that she was at such a close distance from the huge horse, she could make out what a monster of a horse this was.
"Well, someone was fed a little too well as a foal." She giggled after mocking the size of the horse.
When the steed noticed that there was someone else in close proximity, its senses were alerted and it leered in the little human's direction.
Yvonne however, was unaware of the dangerous leer it was directing at her as she was lost in the blood-red eyes of the horse.
'A demon horse!' She cried out in her mind when she saw this rare combination of eye color.
The black body with the crimson eyes made the huge horse look like a horse from hell who was here to claim the souls of the condemned.
Any normal human let alone a child would have turned and fled in the opposite direction but this was Yvonne and not someone else.
The brave child was oblivious to the stern eyes of the horse as she stopped her feet right before those deadly eyes.
One mighty horse and one tiny little girl, stood facing each other as they gazed into each other's eyes.
"Beautiful…" The soft mutter made the horse's ears stand up at attention at what it had heard.
As she looked at the horse from top to bottom she felt as though the horse had done the same to her.
'Are you imitating me?' She wondered and tried to test her theory out.
Yvonne tilted her head to the right and soon the horse followed after her.
From the right to the left, in which direction the child's head tilted so did the horse's.
"Pfftt…" She let out a chuckle when she saw the cute behavior of this huge horse.
"Aren't you a cute little thing!" She whispered as she covered her mouth to hide her pearly teeth.
The horse seemed bewildered when the child before it was still standing in the same place, instead of running in the other direction like what would usually happen.
It hurried to take a step back when Yvonne raised her hand in the air.
"I just want to touch." The soft voice fell in the sharp ears of the horse who stood still this time around.
Yvonne once again raised her hand and inched it close to the horse's long nose.
Just as her hand was about to touch the horse's seemingly soft skin, a loud noise was heard from the stable, startling both the child and the horse alike.
