This Life, I'm Raising the Right Man
Chapter 204: Chasing Away Peach Blossoms
It was late at night, and all around was silent.
Su Yaoguang walked out with a lantern, stepped out of the courtyard, and looked around the street.
"Why hasn’t that kid come back yet?"
At this moment, the sound of carriage wheels could be heard. A carriage drove towards them, with Chen Buyu sitting outside.
"Yaoguang, Yaoguang, your Wang Shu has had too much to drink, come and get him quickly."
Upon hearing that Zhou Wangshu was drunk, Su Yaoguang’s expression changed, and she walked over in big strides.
The carriage stopped, and the driver put down the carriage step.
When the carriage door opened, Zhang Linglong was the first to step down.
Zhang Linglong had dressed up today, with pretty makeup and a waisted new skirt. After getting off, she adjusted herself a bit.
At this time, Su Yaoguang was wearing simple and elegant clothes, with her hair down and no makeup, her fair face was as pure as a moonlit fairy.
Seeing Su Yaoguang’s delicate skin, a hint of resentment flashed in Zhang Linglong’s eyes.
She was clearly younger, why didn’t she have such good skin?
Zhang Fengyi and Zhong Chushan helped Zhou Wangshu down.
Zhong Chushan smiled bitterly, "Yaoguang, your Wang Shu gets so rowdy when drunk? I’m scared of him now, I dare not drink with him again."
Zhou Wangshu, who was originally leaning on Zhong Chushan, heard Su Yaoguang’s name, pushed him away, and lunged towards Su Yaoguang, hanging onto her.
Everyone was dumbfounded at the scene.
"Tsk tsk tsk, can’t bear to look."
"Just now, when he was drunk, Miss Zhang tried to support him but got shoved away and nearly fell," Zhong Chushan said, "Even drunk, he can recognize his family, he’s not completely lost."
"Since we’ve delivered him, we should be going as well." Zhang Fengyi pulled Zhang Linglong away and took her onto the carriage.
In this situation, if she keeps lingering, it would be inappropriate.
Even though he is a child bride, seeing how the two are so affectionate and well-matched, there’s no room for anyone else.
Zhang Linglong was still unwilling. She had never seen such a handsome man. If she missed this chance, there wouldn’t be another.
She looked at Zhou Wangshu clinging to Su Yaoguang, her eyes full of resentment.
Zhong Chushan and Chen Buyu exchanged a glance, both got on the carriage, leaving with the siblings.
Su Yaoguang was nearly breathless under Zhou Wangshu’s weight.
"Hey, wake up..."
"You little brat, are you really drunk?"
Zhou Wangshu nuzzled into her neck.
Su Yaoguang couldn’t help but feel tickled and could only support him as they walked inside.
As she turned, she saw Xiao Yanci standing in the neighboring courtyard watching them, giving her a fright.
"Crazy." Su Yaoguang cursed softly and carried Zhou Wangshu inside.
Once inside, she helped Zhou Wangshu onto the bed.
"I’ll deal with you tomorrow." Su Yaoguang, exhausted, turned to close the door.
As she just closed the door, a big dog’s weight pressed on her back, pinning her to the door with a clang.
"Ah..." Su Yaoguang winced, letting out a soft moan. "Zhou Wangshu, behave yourself."
Zhou Wangshu hugged her waist, nuzzling her neck, "Yaoguang, I don’t feel well..."
"Didn’t I tell you that you can’t handle alcohol? I told you not to drink," Su Yaoguang pushed him, supporting him back onto the bed.
Zhou Wangshu held onto her hand, refusing to let go.
With a headache, Su Yaoguang could only lean by the bed, letting him hold her hand.
Zhou Wangshu held her hand under his face and soon fell asleep.
Finally, he calmed down.
Su Yaoguang sighed in relief.
After a while, confirming he was asleep, she slowly withdrew her arm.
In the middle of the night, Su Yaoguang felt something heavy on her chest. Upon opening her eyes, a big head was resting in her embrace.
Su Yaoguang: "!!!"
She slowly eased herself out, stepping off the bed only to fall flat on her bottom.
She got up slowly, rubbing her backside, grinning at the soundly sleeping Zhou Wangshu, "You little brat, how are you more troublesome than before?"
Rubbing her behind, she made her way back to the main bed.
She had clearly settled him on the bed earlier, yet he climbed onto her small couch in the middle of the night. It was so small that his height needed curling to fit.
"Fortune that doesn’t know how to appreciate." Su Yaoguang muttered, covering herself with a thin blanket and falling into a deep sleep.
At dawn, birds chirped on the windowsill. Su Yaoguang was awakened by their chatter. As she woke, detecting someone else beside her, she accepted this ’change’ with calmness.
She tried to slip away before Zhou Wangshu woke, but he held on tighter.
Zhou Wangshu rested his head on her neck, his warm breath turning her skin pink.
Su Yaoguang felt his hot palm on her waist.
Even if she tried to ignore it, she had to admit that Zhou Wangshu was a tall, charming young man.
Su Yaoguang wanted to get up, but one side of the bed was against the wall, while the other was blocked by Zhou Wangshu. She took a deep breath, slowly moving out, planning to climb over Zhou Wangshu.
But Zhou Wangshu opened his eyes.
Su Yaoguang met his gaze.
At that moment, Su Yaoguang’s ’old face’ turned crimson.
In panic, climbing over resulted in a blunder, directly sitting on him.
Zhou Wangshu groaned.
Su Yaoguang: "..."
She quickly got off the bed, running away at lightning speed.
Out the door, Su Yaoguang patted her chest, trying to control her racing heartbeat.
"What’s this? Why am I running? I didn’t do anything wrong. Why should I run? Now it seems like I’ve done something."
The door opened, and Zhou Wangshu stood before her in his undergarments, eyes clear, "Yaoguang, where are my clothes?"
"How would I know?" Su Yaoguang looked at him warily, "I didn’t undress you."
Zhou Wangshu looked surprised, "I meant the clothes in my luggage. Yesterday’s are soaked in alcohol, I don’t want to wear them again."
Su Yaoguang responded with an ’oh’, pointing at a cabinet not far away, "Over there."
"Okay." Zhou Wangshu acknowledged, looking back at her, "I didn’t cause you any trouble last night, did I?"
Su Yaoguang crossed her arms, her gaze dangerous.
His mention of it wiped away any awkwardness from before. Now, she was only thinking about how to punish this drunkard.
"Didn’t I tell you your tolerance is low and not to drink?"
"They insisted I drink, I couldn’t refuse," Zhou Wangshu said bitterly, "If I didn’t, they called me unsociable."
"Ignore them next time, pretend to be sick, act drunk, find any way to avoid it, don’t gulp down everything."
"Okay."
Su Yaoguang noticed Zhou Wangshu didn’t mention the earlier incident. It seemed her reaction was overblown. To him, waking up together was just a result of too much drink. She could have reacted naturally instead of feeling guilty.
Zhou Wangshu turned, his lips curling up.
