This Is What a Villain Is Like
Chapter 255 - 109: It’s Fine He Can Tell: She’s Not That Kind of Frivolous Woman
The Garden of Osmanthus was located in the Inner City.
It was an extremely tranquil residence, filled with osmanthus trees.
When Jiang Lan appeared, Ye Shiyin was inside her room, meditating and cultivating. Wisps of purple mist drifted around her, resembling one demonic shadow after another.
Her eyes were closed. She had an exquisite beauty, a jade-like nose, delicate features, and black hair that cascaded to her waist.
As she breathed in and out, her beautiful hair seemed to be lifted by a night wind, dancing ceaselessly behind her, yet it evoked the sense of a legion of demons in a chaotic frenzy.
Seeing Jiang Lan’s arrival, she ceased her Cultivation Technique and opened her eyes. Her gaze was cold and indifferent.
"Song Youwei isn’t here tonight?"
Jiang Lan asked casually. He hadn’t sensed Song Youwei’s aura when he came in.
"She said something came up with the Blood Immortal Sect, that they’re plotting something," Ye Shiyin replied, just as casually.
"Have Xiao Teng come here for a private meeting with you before 7:00 PM tomorrow night. When the time comes, I’ll also find you a new place to stay," Jiang Lan ordered, his eyes sizing up her slightly pale face.
Ye Shiyin didn’t ask any questions. She took out her Communication Jade Talisman and looked at Jiang Lan. "Is there anything else I should say to him?"
"You don’t need to say anything specific. Just let him know you’re currently safe."
Jiang Lan said, casually placing a bottle of Elixir Pills in front of her. "These are Nourishing Spirit Pills. Use tonight to recover from your injuries. Otherwise, that Xiao Teng might notice something is wrong tomorrow."
Before being imprisoned in the Observatory, everything in Ye Shiyin’s Sumeru Ring and Sumeru Bag had been confiscated.
It was no exaggeration to say she was now utterly destitute.
Otherwise, after all these days, she wouldn’t still be injured and looking so pale.
’Young Master Jiang is so generous, finally willing to give me Elixir Pills at a time like this...’ A wave of resentment inexplicably surged in Ye Shiyin’s heart as she looked at the pills before her.
Although she and Song Youwei lived in the same place, Song Youwei was no great Samaritan. Seeing that she was injured, she wouldn’t take the initiative to give her Healing Elixirs or anything of the sort.
Due to her pride, Ye Shiyin disdained to ask a junior like her for Elixir Pills.
Besides, Jiang Lan had severely wounded her Divine Soul, to the point that more than half of it had nearly collapsed...
After all these days, she hadn’t even recovered ten percent of it.
She had originally thought Jiang Lan would give her some Elixir Pills, but he never brought it up. It wasn’t until today, when he suddenly remembered she might be useful and worried about flaws appearing in his plan, that he finally thought to give her Nourishing Spirit Pills.
’This guy is so pragmatic.’
Jiang Lan ignored her simmering resentment and simply said, "Be obedient, and you won’t be short on Elixir Pills."
"I am completely obedient to you now, Young Master Jiang."
"If you tell me to sit, I wouldn’t dare to stand..."
Still filled with resentment, Ye Shiyin poured out a few pills and swallowed them all at once, right in front of him.
Only then did she feel a warm energy dissolve and seep into her somewhat cracked and withered Sea of Consciousness.
Her Divine Soul began to slowly recover, and some rosy color returned to her originally pale, bloodless cheeks.
"Is that so?" Jiang Lan glanced at her.
"Yes..." Ye Shiyin met his gaze openly.
As an ancient Great Power of the Demon Race, although she had been forced to accept Jiang Lan’s Slave Seal, it didn’t mean she had willingly submitted to him.
She knew Jiang Lan wanted to keep her alive to control Xiao Teng.
Although Xiao Teng was merely the son of Prince Zhenbei, Ye Shiyin had been in the Imperial Capital for many years and had a faint understanding of the situation. She knew the forces behind him were far greater than just that, also involving the faction of the National Master and a branch of the Royal Family.
Jiang Lan’s ambitions were immense; he had deliberately made a move against the Xie Family to capture her.
Until his plan was complete, he wouldn’t do anything to her.
"In that case, take off your clothes. I want to see if you’re truly obedient or just faking it," Jiang Lan said casually.
"..." Ye Shiyin suddenly regretted her earlier complaints and resentment.
"It seems you’re all talk."
"Should I help you, or will you do it yourself?" Jiang Lan seemed to ignore her thoughts, simply watching her with a detached gaze.
"I was just speaking thoughtlessly just now, Young Master Jiang. Please don’t take it to heart. I’ll do anything else you ask..."
Ye Shiyin tried to explain, but her pretty face paled as an indescribable, sharp pain shot through her Divine Soul in her Sea of Consciousness.
Then, her cultivation suddenly vanished, sealed away completely.
She froze on the spot.
"If I lose my innocence, Xiao Teng will be able to tell..." she said hurriedly, a sense of panic rising in her heart.
"Don’t worry, he won’t be able to tell," Jiang Lan said.
"I was wrong..."
"No, you weren’t wrong."
...
A short while later.
"COUGH, COUGH..."
Ye Shiyin picked up her tea, coughed, and rinsed her mouth. An unnatural flush still colored her flawless, jade-white face.
Jiang Lan, however, looked as composed as ever, completely ignoring the hateful, teeth-grinding expression on her face.
Ye Shiyin was proud and arrogant, untamable as a hawk. She wouldn’t submit so easily. But that was fine; he had plenty of time to break her in slowly.
"The Communication Jade Talisman was just flashing. Xiao Teng must have received the message," Jiang Lan said, glancing at the Communication Jade Talisman on her.
Ye Shiyin just picked it up and glanced at it before tossing it aside in annoyance. But after a moment’s thought, she picked it up again and sent a reply, asking Xiao Teng to prepare some cultivation resources for her.
Seeing this, Jiang Lan seemed to smile. With a wave of his hand, a Sumeru Ring shimmering with a faint, clear light and a Sumeru Bag appeared on the tea table before her.
Ye Shiyin gave him a puzzled look, as if not expecting him to be so generous.
"Is this... compensation for me?"
She extended her Divine Thought toward them, initially just giving them a casual scan, but the words she had spoken died in her throat as she froze, stunned.
