This Is What a Villain Is Like

Chapter 246 - 107: Now Targeted by the Blood Immortal Sect, Emperor Xia to the Rescue

Such power was not to be underestimated, no matter where it was found.

"Brother, there are too many prying eyes here. Are we really going to make a move on that guy?"

In the private room, a sallow-faced man spoke, questioning the broad-faced man who was their leader.

"The higher-ups have given their orders," the broad-faced man said in a low voice, a sharp glint in his eyes. "If we can capture him, we’ll be handsomely rewarded with a Six Tribulation Blood Pill. Once I take that pill, I’ll be able to break through to the Sixth Realm, the Divine Power Realm..."

Then, as if wary of something, he took a blood-red silk pouch from his robes. From it, he produced a magnificent Treasure Bead with mist swirling within.

As he poured his Magical Power into it, a Barrier instantly formed to prevent anyone from eavesdropping.

Emperor Xia, who was spying on them with her Divine Thought, hadn’t expected them to be so cautious. However, with just a flash of golden light in her eyes, a small crack silently split open in their Barrier.

"A Six Tribulation Blood Pill..."

Hearing this, the others in the private room couldn’t help but show expressions of awe and envy.

That was a Six Tribulation Blood Pill, an incredibly precious item refined by the Blood Immortal Sect using a Secret Technique.

Just by consuming it, one could break through their bottleneck and become a Sixth Realm expert in a single stroke, powerful enough to dominate an entire commandery.

"No wonder Brother is willing to take such a risk, even though he’s always so cautious," one of them said. "That’s the Prime Minister’s son we’re talking about. If anything goes wrong, the consequences will be unthinkable."

These words startled Emperor Xia, who had been spying from the side, and she frowned. ’These Blood Immortal Sect members are going to make a move on the Prime Minister’s son... which means Jiang Lan? Could he be on this painted boat as well?’

Surprised, Emperor Xia swept the area with her Divine Thought to investigate.

Sure enough, in an elegant private room on the third floor, she found a man in white robes lazily reclining on a soft couch, enjoying the music and drinking wine.

The last time she had seen Jiang Lan was when he was just a boy.

However, she had recently ordered an investigation into him and had seen his portrait, so she recognized Jiang Lan at a glance.

Emperor Xia scanned the area around Jiang Lan but noticed no experts protecting him. ’The situation in Jingyang City is chaotic, yet he dares to be so conspicuous with no one around to guard him...’

She sneered inwardly, thinking that Jiang Lan was far too complacent. ’Does he really think no one in Jingyang City would dare to make a move against him? Well, now he’s gone and gotten himself targeted by the Blood Immortal Sect.’

"Don’t worry. I’ve already investigated. For the past few days, the Prime Minister’s son has come here around 7:00 PM. All his subordinates stay off the painted boat, leaving him with no one by his side for protection."

"To be safe, I confirmed his routine before calling you all here. This is to ensure we succeed in one strike," the broad-faced man said, his expression cold.

"Brother, your planning is meticulous. We’re impressed." The others chimed in with admiration, their worries easing.

After all, without absolute certainty, not even the Blood Immortal Sect would take such a massive risk by casually making a move on the Prime Minister’s son. It simply wasn’t worth it.

"Brother, do you know why the higher-ups ordered us to capture the Prime Minister’s son?" one of them asked, confused. "This is Jingyang City, right under the Emperor’s nose. We’ve had plenty of opportunities before, so why risk it here?"

"I only have a vague understanding myself, but I asked an Elder and managed to get a little information. It seems the leadership suspects that the Prime Minister’s son is very likely the person behind that mysterious Naxian Alliance, the one that’s been investigating our Holy Sect recently."

"So the leadership wants to use this opportunity to test him personally, which is why they’ve posted a Six Tribulation Blood Pill as the bounty..." the broad-faced man said in a low voice, a sharp light flickering in his eyes.

"But doesn’t the Prime Minister’s son lack any cultivation? Why would the leadership suspect him?" the same man asked, stunned.

The broad-faced man replied, "The leadership has already locked onto several targets and plans to test each of them. The Prime Minister’s son is merely one on the list."

"Great Xia’s Southern Hunting is fast approaching, and our leadership intends to disrupt it. If we can root out the person behind the Naxian Alliance beforehand, it will save a lot of trouble."

As Emperor Xia listened to their conversation, her expression grew grim and uncertain.

She hadn’t expected the Blood Immortal Sect to be so audacious, actually intending to sabotage Great Xia’s Southern Hunting.

Of course, when she learned the Blood Immortal Sect was deliberately spreading rumors, she had already guessed they would likely try to cause trouble. But hearing it with her own ears was another matter entirely.

’The Blood Immortal Sect has started to notice the Naxian Alliance. It seems my recent activities did arouse their suspicion after all. I just didn’t expect Jiang Lan to end up taking the fall for me...’

Emperor Xia’s eyes narrowed, and she gently clasped her hands behind her back.

In the imperial court, Prime Minister Jiang Lintian had humiliated her on multiple occasions, greatly damaging her imperial dignity.

Naturally, she would love nothing more than to see the Blood Immortal Sect and the Prime Minister’s Mansion go at each other’s throats.

However, she was the one who had secretly established the Naxian Alliance. Now that the Blood Immortal Sect was hunting for its mastermind, exposing the Alliance to the world would be extremely detrimental to her future plans.

’I’ll just wait and see what happens. Besides, I’ve been wanting to test that Jiang Lan, and the Blood Immortal Sect has just given me the perfect opportunity.’ Emperor Xia decided not to intervene, content to observe for now.

Meanwhile, in the private room, the members of the Blood Immortal Sect conferred for a moment and quickly decided to act.

The leader, the broad-faced man, took a perfectly round Elixir Pill from his blood-red pouch and crushed it in his hand.

A strange mist immediately billowed out, quickly dissipating into the air. It flowed out of the private room and began to spread throughout the painted boat.

The men each swallowed a purple Elixir Pill and sat quietly, waiting for the mist to take effect.
