Chapter 333

Farming

On the 5th floor, Ellie first chose to visit Pan 5.1 City. After settling her 7 servants in the city, she went off on her own. The 7 servants were astounded by the wonder of the city on the tower, something they had never imagined. The city on the 5th floor had originally belonged to the "Komodo Beasts," which resembled lizards but had wings on their backs and were level 4 creatures, making it a relatively high-level race.

These Komodos wielded tridents as their weapons and were quite formidable. However, they were an herbivorous species, living solely on various fruits. The fruit they could cultivate was the "Merlo Fruit," which resembled grapes she knew of, but was only level 0. Yet, the Komodos survived solely on Merlo fruits.

Luckily, the Komodos were highly skilled in fruit tree cultivation. So, after Owen conquered this city, he did not kill them but instead made them Ellie’s slaves, leaving them to tend to the spiritual fruits he brought for cultivation. The Komodos loved these spiritual fruits, though they couldn’t cultivate them initially due to unsuitable conditions.

Owen used the Setter family’s treasures to transform the city’s area into a place suitable for cultivating spiritual fruits. Even though they were level 0 and required a large number of magical crystals, selling them on the 7th floor promised substantial profits.

On her inspection on the first day, Ellie saw that Owen’s care would sustain these spiritual fruits for only about 2-3 years. After all, this was not expert care, even with the Setter family’s equipment. So, she immediately infused them with her botanic magic power upon arrival. The fruits grew robustly, and with one or two infusions of magic power per year, they could last for another 10 years.

She planned to spend the first 7 days inspecting the spiritual fruit cultivation in every city. Otherwise, Owen’s investment might go to waste...

Ellie’s excellent management won the Komodos’ hearts from the first moment they saw their true master. Thus, they greatly respected her. Previously, they had a history of serving elves, so their ancestors passed down the knowledge, even though it had been hundreds or even thousands of years.

Ellie left the 7 servants with the Komodos. The servants mentioned that they would help build a kitchen and living room for her with the Komodos’ cooperation. Since Ellie wanted to practice hunting alone, she left the city, letting them take care of it.

She sent Little Apple to soak in the poison pool and the level 6 Spirit Alchemical Wheel in the 6.2 city on the 6th floor, a city Owen had conquered to create a true retreat for the little Apple. She heard that the city housed many poisonous creatures, so whenever the little Apple was hungry, it could easily find food around the city.

Seeing that the little Apple had a vacation home and its power was steadily increasing, Ellie had no more reasons to worry. She only needed to focus on training the little Purple Mushroom, the little Black Fairy, and the little Nocturnal Rabbit.

Training the little Purple Mushroom wasn’t difficult as it could still digest various substances and convert them into its power. The real challenge was the little Black Fairy, who needed to "consume" a lot. Ellie had to bring it to face opponents who used magic power. Before coming here, she had asked the eldest young lord, who had chosen this city for her, about which city had beasts using magic in the surrounding forest, and he recommended this one. Thus, Ellie brought the little Black Fairy here.

The first beast she encountered was a level 3 beast, which used to be frightening. But now, with Ellie’s increased power, these beasts were hardly worth mentioning. She ventured deeper into the forest around the Komodos’s city. There weren’t many high-level beasts near the city, a result of the Komodos’ own strength.

The Komodos were strong in both weapon and magic use, particularly adept at water magic. Their city was surrounded by a moat, so any beast approaching was essentially walking to its death! Although Komodos were peaceful and didn’t eat meat, they were very protective of their fruits! Owen, even after conquering the city, allowed one section to be dedicated solely to Merlo fruits while the other section was for spiritual fruits.

The Komodos loved all kinds of fruits, especially spiritual fruits, but they could only tend to them. Even Ellie refrained from consuming them casually after seeing their high prices on the 7th floor. Until she had enough money to buy a city on the 1st row, Ellie would abstain (?) and eat only sweets instead. So, even though the Komodos might want to eat the fruits, now was not the time for that.

The fierce protectiveness of the Komodos over their resources made other beast species wary of entering their territory. Besides, the other beasts weren’t very interested in the sour fruits, so they had no reason to risk their lives there. Only lost or non-threatening beasts were allowed by the Komodos to enter.

Therefore, if Ellie wanted to hunt, she had to venture deeper into the forest!

The little Black Fairy flew around Ellie, looking ahead as if it sensed a delicious meal there. The remains of the beasts behind were left for Little Apple, who was nearby. Ellie used spores to investigate and found that the beast ahead was likely the one she was looking for.

As the little Black Fairy sensed, the creature ahead was an "Ice Serpent." These serpents were terrifying to others because they could use special ice magic.

- Ice Serpent, Level 3: Attributes - A beast resembling a ferocious serpent, with a huge body. It can attack from a distance using special ice bombs. Victims of this attack feel a stabbing pain throughout their bodies. If they fail to deal with it, they will be engulfed by ice and die.

Action Panel

Option One: Use the rooting of the purple mushroom spores to mark the location.

Option Two: Use the rooting of the purple mushroom spores to decompose internal organs.

Option Three: Use the rooting of the purple mushrooms for decomposition. -

Ellie assessed the enemy’s level through the little Purple Mushroom. The opponent’s level was quite high. With such strong power, it wasn’t surprising that they could coexist in the 5th floor with other high-level species without fear.

This beast was strong both physically and in magic use. Fortunately, Ellie’s little Black Fairy had reached level 3 from previous challenge. If it were still at level 0 or 1... handling this enemy alone would have been impossible. She might have needed to call for the little Apple’s help.

But now that the Black Fairy had absorbed so much magic power, it certainly had the ability to defeat the enemies on its own. Ellie took a few steps forward before an interesting idea came to her mind.

“Option Four: Create a Black Fairy Field.” First, she let the little Black Fairy spread out around the area. Although it didn’t cover the entire territory, it managed to encircle several dozen Ice Serpents.

Originally, she thought that eliminating them quickly and moving on to other beasts to level up would be the right approach. But upon further reflection, wouldn’t "farming" be better?

The Ice Serpents were unaware of the girl’s devious plan. Upon sensing a living creature approaching, they raised their heads to intimidate the intruder. The “hiss, hiss” sounds they made caused smaller beasts hiding nearby to flee in panic. However, the Black Fairy Field didn’t slow down. It spread out, surrounding the Ice Serpents effectively.

The Ice Serpents didn’t stay idle. As Ellie predicted, they unleashed their magic attacks. Usually, once the Black Fairy absorbed enough magic power, they would bloom into numerous little black fairies. This time was no different. However, instead of devouring the Ice Serpents, the little black fairies followed Ellie’s command, using the serpents as a source of magic power.

Ellie spent over an hour until the serpents were exhausted. Initially aggressive, they had now changed. The serpents lowered their heads in fear, realizing they couldn’t defeat this enemy despite using all their strength!

Seeing that the serpents had run out of magic power, Ellie retracted the Black Fairy Field. She didn’t kill the now powerless beasts. If she let the black fairies kill them, the source of magic resources would slowly disappear, eventually leaving her without a farm.

While letting the little Purple Mushroom consume them would be beneficial, their life forces wouldn’t significantly increase its power anymore. At such a high level, consuming level 3 beasts was merely a piece of food stuck in its teeth. It was better to leave the serpents to help the Black Fairy level up.

The young girl walked around the city where the Ice Serpents resided. Today, all their magic power would belong to the Black Fairy! And yes! Those boastful serpents could hardly comprehend anything. Their intelligence was minimal. In the end, over 300 serpents were rendered powerless, and time passed quickly, prompting Ellie to return to the city.

Tonight’s dinner was quite special. Ellie enjoyed a luxurious meal and rested well, thanks to the care of her 7 servants. She felt that living like this was quite nice. Normally, she wouldn’t think much of it if she didn’t receive such treatment, but having experienced it, she realized how wonderful it was and didn’t want to lose these pleasant moments. Perhaps in the future...this newfound comfort would make it difficult for her to detach herself!

Fortunately, her 7 servants had become her slaves, giving Ellie peace of mind. Even if the Setter family stopped supporting her, she would still have these 7 servants by her side.

Originally, entering the Tower of Eternity would have been a hardship for Ellie. But now, she even had time to soak in a warm bath in a small hall, a creation of her servants and the Komodos. It was a top-notch achievement.

While relaxing, Ellie didn’t just rest. She was in a good enough mood to spend some time learning more about stratagems. In fact, she wanted to obtain a manual for creating spiritual stratagems that even the elves couldn’t make. However, such secrets weren’t for sale, even on the 7th floor. It seemed that no matter the world... knowledge remained difficult to obtain.

With all her needs taken care of, Ellie no longer wasted time on mundane tasks. Hence, she had ample time today. The most important thing was to expedite the production of spiritual fruits. She didn’t care much about the spiritual fruits outside the secret dimension, leaving their care to the native species. Owen usually found cities that could cultivate various plants along with the original inhabitants, so there was little to worry about. Although it was slower than in the secret dimension, Ellie didn’t have to labor herself, so it could still be considered profitable.

Today, she needed to attend to the 2nd secret dimension she had recently purchased. She improved its condition by infusing it with magic power. Ellie moved high-level herbs there to prevent interference with the spiritual fruit production. She left lower-level herbs in the original dimension, allowing the 3 spiritual fruits to use them for potion concocting during downtime. However, potion concocting was no longer the primary goal...

The level 6 Tezetrons herb, level 4 Tesenes herb, and level 5 Pure Flame Dragon herb were placed in Ellie’s 2nd secret dimension. To ensure they thrived, Ellie infused them with a significant amount of magic power.

The Tezetrons herb was the first herb that Ellie meticulously cared for, and she had higher expectations for it than for the others. If not for this herb, the Setter family might not have taken such an interest in her. As for the level 5 herb, it wasn’t particularly useful to her, but with proper care, it could still be sold on the 7th floor of the tower. Fire elemental users would surely appreciate it. Even Aman’s rapid power increase nowadays was thanks to this herb.

Although the magic level wasn’t exceptionally high, the level 5 herb purified Aman’s magic power, enhancing his fire element and preventing him from easily hitting bottlenecks. Additionally, this level 5 herb was highly favored by the Microbial Spirit Orb.Thinking of that Orb, Ellie decided that tomorrow she would try to tempt it with the level 6 herb, hoping it might offer her some good deals in return...
