Du Heng felt quite helpless as he stood up under Zhang Sumei's pull. "Sister-in-law, I just caught a chill. It's not a viral cold; it won't spread."

"Don't talk to me about whether it's a virus or not. As long as you have a cold, there must be a Virus." Pushing Du Heng to the door, she continued, "Hurry up and leave. You're not needed here."

Du Heng felt helpless but could only silently accept his sister-in-law's tough attitude.

Standing at the door, he took a distant look at his sleeping Wife and the baby in the crib before Zhang Sumei ruthlessly drove him out.

He sighed, standing at the door. Looking at the time, which was neither too early nor too late, Du Heng decided to go back to the Dormitory to sleep a bit more.

The main reason was that he felt really uncomfortable.

In a daze, Du Heng felt someone pushing him. Opening his eyes, he saw it was Cao Binghe from the duty dormitory.

"Director Du, when did you get here?" Cao Binghe straightened up when he saw Du Heng open his eyes.

Du Heng felt extremely dizzy, and his body alternated between feeling hot and cold. It was unbearably uncomfortable. "What time is it?"

"Just past seven." Cao Binghe stared at Du Heng's mouth, bewildered.

He had seen people with fevers before, and he'd seen blisters too.

But he had never seen lips entirely surrounded by blisters, each one so shiny and moist.

Furthermore, Du Heng's complexion looked terrible; it was very red, an unhealthy flush. "Director Du, I was just asking, how did you end up sleeping in the Dormitory? You gave me a shock when I woke up."

Du Heng sat up on the edge of the bed and gently pressed his temples, trying to calm the throbbing in his head. "My lover gave birth last night. This morning, I felt unwell, so I came to the Dormitory to lie down for a while."

Seeing Du Heng's uncomfortable expression and his actions, Cao Binghe asked softly, "Director Du, have you caught a cold?"

"Yes, I feel awful all over."

"Isn't today your shift at the outpatient service? How about you tell Director Wu? He could cover for you."

Du Heng nodded. "That was my plan. I didn't sleep at all last night, and with this cold, my head is completely muddled. It looks like Director Wu will indeed have to cover for me."

Cao Binghe nodded. "Then you should get some more sleep. I'll go talk to the Director."

Du Heng thought it was a good idea and agreed, especially since he felt he really couldn't hold on much longer.

Seeing Du Heng's condition, Cao Binghe decided not to disturb him further and left the room immediately.

A short while later, he returned with a hot water bottle, medicine, and a cup of water. He woke Du Heng, had him take the medicine, and then tucked the hot water bottle into Du Heng's quilt.

Du Heng, still muddle-headed, clutched the hot water bottle. "Where did this come from?"

"I got it from the nurse station," Cao Binghe replied softly. "Alright, don't worry about it. Just cover yourself with the quilt and get a good sleep. You'll be fine when you wake up."

"Mm," Du Heng mumbled in response, already drifting back to sleep.

Cao Binghe put down the water cup. He then took the quilt from his own bed, laid it over Du Heng, tucked in the corners, and then left the Dormitory.

Du Heng slept so soundly it was as if day and night had merged. When he finally opened his eyes again, he had no idea what time it was.

But despite sleeping for so long, he didn't feel refreshed; instead, he felt terrible.

Firstly, his sleep hadn't been sound; he'd been in a half-awake, half-asleep state, which was the most torturous.

Secondly, the quilts were too thick, pressing down on him uncomfortably.

Thirdly, under the quilt, his whole body felt damp and sticky.

However, the one good thing was that his body felt much lighter, without the groggy, heavy sensation he'd had when he first fell asleep that morning.

He picked up his mobile phone and saw it was 4:43 in the afternoon. Looking at the message notifications, he saw several missed calls.

Opening them, he saw calls from his Big brother, his brother-in-law, Wu Shengnan, and his Sister-in-law.

Besides those, there were many other notification messages, all congratulating him on becoming a father.

Du Heng tossed his mobile phone aside and vigorously rubbed his face.

When he returned to Wu Shengnan's room, besides the people, the room was filled with gifts and flowers piled high in a corner.

Du Heng scratched his head. Had he really met so many people in the Capital?

But that wasn't important. He hurriedly walked towards the people in the room. "Grandpa, Big brother, what are you two doing here?"

The visitors weren't his father-in-law or mother-in-law, but his wife's grandfather and her elder brother. This was quite a surprise.

Sir glanced at Du Heng, then lowered his head to continue looking at his great-granddaughter. "Is your cold better?"

"I slept under the quilt for a while, and it's much better," Du Heng said apologetically. "I didn't know you were coming, Grandpa. I wasn't there to greet you."

"We're family; don't stand on ceremony." The old man's attention was completely focused on his little great-granddaughter. Even Du Heng, whom he had always liked as a grandson-in-law, had to take a backseat for now.

Du Heng smiled and turned to his brother-in-law. "Big brother, what brings you here? Isn't your wife's due date around this time too? Can she manage without you?"

The smile on his brother-in-law's face was very bright. Compared to the gloomy expression he wore when they first met last year, it was a significant change.

"It's fine. I just came to see Nannan. I'll head back tomorrow." He then patted Du Heng on the shoulder. "Don't overthink it. Dad has meetings and really can't get away these few days. He'll come over once he's done."
