This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

Chapter 1167 - 1167: 760 Cold Injury to the Governor Vessel

After finishing with the Proctology Department consultation, Du Heng returned to his Department and got busy with his own work.

He remained busy right up until quitting time.

Du Heng stretched from his seat, glanced at the time, and prepared to pack up and leave for the day.

But after packing his things, Du Heng still felt a nagging sense of unfinished business, so he sought out the resident doctor who had assisted him.

"Any news about the young man from yesterday?"

"No," the resident doctor replied, shaking his head decisively. "I just called him again, but he didn't answer. He hung up."

Du Heng scratched his head. If the young man wasn't coming to the Hospital, there wasn't much he could do. "Well, then that's that."

This time, he truly didn't intend to get involved any further. He just wanted to grab his things, then go pick up Wu Shengnan and head home.

Nowadays, Wu Shengnan had to go to the Department for her job every day. The commute was a bit far, and it was much more tiring than when she was attending classes.

So, whenever he could, he tried to pick her up a little earlier.

"Deputy Director Du, someone is looking for you." Before he even reached his office door, he heard a nurse calling from behind.

Du Heng couldn't help but stop. He walked towards the nurse station, his head down as he continued sending news to Wu Shengnan.

"Who's looking for me? What's the matter?" As he drew closer, Du Heng had just finished sending the news. Putting away his Mobile phone, he looked towards the nurse station.

The moment he looked up, he saw an unforgettable figure.

"Why are you only coming now? We called you and you didn't answer; we thought you weren't coming!" Du Heng looked at the young man who had suddenly appeared and instantly brightened.

The young man from yesterday smiled bitterly and said, "Something came up at home. I dealt with it during the day and rushed over as soon as I was done."

Du Heng nodded; as long as he came, it was fine. He then gestured, leading the young man towards his office.

"Something happened at home?" Du Heng asked with a smile. "It couldn't be about your roommate, could it?"

The young man nodded faintly. "Yes, it's about her."

Hearing the young man's affirmative tone, Du Heng was rather surprised. "No way! It was really your roommate? Did She actually go into your room in the middle of the night?"

But when the young man heard Du Heng say this, he suddenly became a little confused and asked doubtfully, "Doctor, why would you ask that?"

Du Heng suddenly felt a bit embarrassed; it seemed his guess had been off the mark.

"Well, after what you said yesterday, I didn't sleep well all night, kept thinking about your situation," Du Heng slowly explained. "Based on what you described, the only scenario I could imagine was that someone had shared your bed. But you don't have a girlfriend, and it just so happens you have a female roommate at home. And since you said this female roommate isn't normal, I figured She might have appeared on your bed in the middle of the night."

The young man suddenly laughed. "Doctor, you really overthink things. If something that good had really happened, I wouldn't have come to you. My roommate might look gloomy, but She's actually quite pretty."

Du Heng was stunned for a moment. "So it wasn't?"

"No," the young man said, shaking his head.

"Then what was this about something happening with your roommate?" At this point, Du Heng was genuinely curious.

The young man sighed. "I don't know why, but I felt really restless last night. When I woke up this morning, not only did I have chest tightness and numbness in my Arm, but my back also felt terrible, and my cervical vertebra was extremely sore. It was so uncomfortable I couldn't stay asleep, so I woke up early.

"I looked at the Video and didn't find anything; it just looked like a normal night's sleep. After that, I was planning to come to the Hospital." As he spoke, the young man's expression turned grim. "But when I opened my room door this morning, I saw a Snake coiled up right at my doorstep—a Snake as thick as my Arm! It was yellow, a large mass, completely blocking my door."

He took a shaky breath, the fear still evident in his voice. "Doctor, I'm not exaggerating. I was so scared I wet my pants on the spot. My legs went so weak I just fell back into the room."

Du Heng listened, bewildered. A yellow Snake, as thick as an Arm? Where did it come from? How did it get into someone's house?

"What happened next?"

"I screamed in terror, and then my roommate ran out of her room." The young man swallowed hard, his eyes holding a mixture of disgust and fear. "After She came out, She grabbed the Snake by its head and dragged it straight into her room. Three steak—when She dragged the Snake away, I realized it was at least three steak long."

Du Heng was also shocked. When they reached his office, he had even forgotten to ask the young man to sit down. "Your female roommate keeps it?"

"Yes, She keeps it."

"A girl keeping such a large cold-blooded animal, and a Snake at that?"

The young man nodded again. "Later, She came over and apologized, saying it was her pet Snake and non-venomous. But is this something an apology can fix?"

Even though a day had passed, Du Heng could see that the young man's hair on his hands and face was still standing on end as he recounted the event.

The young man continued indignantly, "A Snake over three steak long! It's cold-blooded. If it suddenly crawled into my bed one night, I'd probably be scared to death on the spot."
