Chapter 353: Chapter 353

Time moved into April, right in the middle of the Easter holidays.

The atmosphere in Hogwarts Castle was far more relaxed than usual. The pressure of exams had temporarily been pushed to the back of everyone’s minds; the Easter break was the final calm before the storm.

During the holidays, Lynn rarely took the initiative to go to the Ministry of Magic and work overtime organizing the storerooms.

After working nonstop for so long, even if Lynn were made of iron, he could not endure such exhaustion forever.

So, he took advantage of the holidays to rest properly. Using this opportunity, he requested a long vacation lasting three months.

Scrimgeour approved it immediately without even looking up, not hesitating in the slightest.

He was afraid of working Lynn to death.

This young man worked far too hard—so hard that even an old Auror like Scrimgeour felt sorry for him. He was the first to arrive every day and the last to leave.

He was not merely "working"; he was "risking his life."

Scrimgeour had seen many desperate Aurors, but he had never seen such a hardworking intern.

As for the work of an intern at the Ministry of Magic... as mentioned before, it was mostly just a formality. No one would care if an intern in the vast Ministry of Magic took a leave of absence.

Besides, an intern’s work was originally dispensable—organizing documents, running errands, and handling chores senior employees did not want to do.

(Cedric: Damn! Then what about me?!)

At that moment, Cedric was sitting in the office of the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, with a mountain of documents piled in front of him. Holding a quill, he was writing a report on "illegal Niffler breeding."

However, Lynn, having returned to a normal routine, was not someone who could remain idle.

He slept for an entire day on the first day of his break, but by the second day, he was already bored.

So, beginning the next morning, he dove into his trunk and began reverse-engineering Goblin Metal.

Finally, after two days and two nights of hard work, he managed to produce some results.

The reason Goblin Metal possessed the ability to absorb and strengthen itself was that its internal structure was not "solid," but "web-like."

Those patterns, invisible to the naked eye, formed a three-dimensional, complex, and incredibly precise magical circuit within the metal.

When a Spell struck it, the energy was absorbed and stored, then released at the appropriate time by following its original path in reverse.

If he wanted to forge it, the other materials would not be a problem. He still had some stock left, including Mithril, Adamantite, Dragon Scale powder, and Phoenix ash...

He had all of them in his trunk.

But there was one material Lynn was truly short on—Unicorn blood.

He only had feathers and horns in his possession, while the remaining blood was less than the volume of a can of Coke.

Fortunately, Lynn had a place where he could replenish his supply.

Come to think of it, it had been a long time since he had visited Anya and the others. He did not know how they had been doing lately.

Since returning from the Giant tribe last time, he had been busy with Ministry of Magic affairs—so busy that he had not even had time to visit the Forbidden Forest.

"Dodo, go to the warehouse and help me find twenty barrels of wine. A little of everything."

Lynn’s voice echoed throughout the trunk.

"Yes, Master."

Dodo’s voice came from afar.

After a while, he walked over to Lynn carrying a pink sack.

"Master, if you are going to kidnap a Unicorn, this pink sack is very suitable."

He shook the sack in his hand. "Dodo specially dyed it this color."

His tone carried an inexplicable pride, and the Goblin Metal in Lynn’s hand nearly fell to the ground.

"Master can wait until they stick their heads out for wine..." Dodo continued, gesturing toward the opening of the sack as though demonstrating how to slip it over someone’s head. "Put the sack over their heads, then—one pull, one tug, one tie. Then..."

Before Dodo could finish, Lynn grabbed the sack and dashed out of the trunk.

...

It was nighttime, and Lynn walked alone along the path leading into the depths of the Forbidden Forest.

Just as he approached the vicinity of the Unicorn herd, an extremely rich, almost pungent scent of alcohol hit his nose.

Lynn recalled that the last time he came was... well, the last time.

Logically, they should have finished all the wine long ago. How could such a strong smell of alcohol still linger here?

Lynn frowned, a bad premonition rising in his heart. He quickly quickened his pace toward the Unicorn camp.

Then, he saw a massive machine operating in the middle of the camp.

The machine was so large that it occupied half the camp.

A long pipe extended from its top. One end was connected to a large water tank, while the other was inserted into—a wine barrel.

The machine was still gurgling as it produced whiskey.

Amber liquid flowed from the pipe into the barrel, splashing into tiny droplets.

The sound was so beautiful that all the surrounding Unicorns narrowed their eyes in contentment.

Clatter, clatter~

A flurry of unsteady footsteps came from behind him.

Lynn turned around and saw Anya, so drunk that she could barely tell which way was up, staggering toward him.

"Anya, where did you get that thing?" Lynn asked, pointing at the machine.

Anya shook her head, her drunkenness clearing somewhat.

"We asked the Centaurs to get it for us. What do you think? Cool, right?"

As she spoke, she lifted her chin toward the machine.

"Centaurs? They know alchemy? I thought they only knew divination."

Anya looked at Lynn as if he were a fool. "Of course the Centaurs asked someone else to make it. We only gave them a few hair that had fallen from our bodies as payment."

She pointed a hoof at the machine, then at the Unicorns drinking nearby.

"The Centaurs know a Wizard who understands alchemy, so they asked him to make it for us. We give him feathers, and he gives us the machine. A fair trade—no cheating the old or the young."

Lynn: "..."

"By the way, Lynn, what’s in that bag you’re holding?"

"Well..." Lynn pondered for a moment before opening the cloth bag.

One after another, enormous wine barrels flew out of the bag and landed steadily on the open ground beside the machine.

Mead, cider, brandy, rum... there was every kind of alcohol one could want.

The eyes of the surrounding Unicorns immediately lit up.

They had not tasted any other flavors of wine in a long time. It had been whiskey every day, and after drinking it for more than a month, they had grown tired of it.

Lynn rubbed his hands somewhat sheepishly. "This time, I don’t want your feathers."

"Free?!" Anya’s voice suddenly rose.

Lynn: "..."

"We can talk about free things next time. This time, I just need to draw a little blood."

The Unicorns looked at one another.

"Not much, just a little bit." Lynn raised his index finger and thumb, leaving only a tiny gap between them. "Really, just a little bit."

The Unicorns eventually agreed.

Draw it, then. A little blood would not hurt them or affect their bodies, and there was wine to drink. It was worth it.

Lynn indeed did not draw much—only about five liters.

Five liters sounded like a lot, but for an entire Unicorn herd, it was nothing.

Just as Lynn put away the Unicorn blood and prepared to return to the Castle, a black sphere suddenly appeared in the sky. It accelerated as it fell, smashing toward where Lynn stood.
