Chapter 632: Chapter 632: The Tree Wants to Be Still but the Wind Will Not Cease

“Boss, we were smoking just now actually because we were pissed off about how someone was bashing you,” Cao Jianhui said as Luo Ziling took Li Fuming’s phone: “We didn’t know who was deliberately trying to bring you down, we sent you messages to warn you, didn’t you see them?”

“I’ve been busy these last couple of days and really didn’t pay attention to my phone,” Luo Ziling admitted, feeling a bit embarrassed. He had seen the messages from Cao Jianhui and the others, but he’d only been paying attention to the messages from Yang Qingyin and Ling Ruonan; he hadn’t bothered to open the others.

To his surprise, such a thing had happened at school while he was busy with other matters.

He then asked, puzzled, “Why didn’t you guys just call me?”

“We didn’t get a reply to our messages, we thought you were busy, who would dare to call you?” Cao Jianhui said, and then he asked again, “Who is Yang Qingye?”

Actually, Cao Jianhui was afraid that if there was such a matter and he phoned Luo Ziling, it would be very awkward.

Today, they hadn’t wanted to bring up the matter proactively, hoping that Luo Ziling would see the forum post himself or hear rumors and then come to ask them about it. If Luo Ziling asked them, they would explain, and that would avoid awkwardness. After all, this was not something one discussed casually.

Luo Ziling didn’t respond to Cao Jianhui’s question but started to look at the phone that Li Fuming had handed over.

Sure enough, among the screenshots there was a post by someone who claimed Luo Ziling was a super pervert with a low moral character, who had actually fought with a student from another school over a beautiful girl, resulting in the girl’s pregnancy, and that nobody knew who the father was, which was utterly disgusting.

After reading the content in the screenshots, Luo Ziling was furious, almost smashing the phone. Realizing that he was holding Li Fuming’s phone and seeing Li Fuming looking at him anxiously, he handed the phone back to Li Fuming.

Luckily, Cao Jianhui’s computer was on, and Luo Ziling went to sit in front of it and started browsing the campus network forum.

But to his disappointment, the posts attacking him were gone, and what had been bumped up by many people was the post that Cao Jianhui had just shared, complete with videos and photos.

The post Cao Jianhui shared had about a twenty-second clip of the video he’d just forwarded, as well as photos of him posing with some medical authorities.

“Look at our boss. Just a freshman, and he was personally invited by Dean Wu to attend an academic conference, even making a speech as a special guest. With good looks and talent, valued by authorities, and admired by most classmates, how could he possibly be the despicable person those mudslingers claim him to be? Those people are just spreading lies out of jealousy because our boss gets so much attention and admiration from beautiful girls. As the president of Clinical Medicine Class One, I can guarantee with my own integrity, even my life, that our boss would never do such shameless deeds. He is definitely a learned and noble young man. Those who spread malicious slander, if you have the guts, come out and confront us face to face, if you don’t dare, then you are a coward,”

These were the words that Cao Jianhui had written in the main floor of the post.

Luo Ziling didn’t expect that in such a short time, Cao Jianhui had actually made such a post, using his own integrity to vouch for his character, which moved him.

At this point, Yang Qingyin sent him a message saying she had forgotten to mention something: that this morning, somebody had posted on the forum slandering Luo Ziling. However, she hadn’t seen the post herself, it was others who told her about it. She didn’t know whether it was true or not. She only remembered to remind Luo Ziling after she saw Cao Jianhui’s post.

She told Luo Ziling to be careful and to pay attention to who might have posted the message and why they would slander him.

Luo Ziling asked Li Fuming to send him the screenshot, which he then forwarded to Yang Qingyin.

After receiving the pictures, Yang Qingyin immediately called. Luo Ziling hurried outside to answer the phone.

“They even dragged my brother into this,” Yang Qingyin expressed her anger over the phone, “It seems like it’s orchestrated by someone who knows about us.”

“Senior, trees may prefer calm, but the wind will not subside. It seems that many people don’t want us to live in peace and are always trying to stir up something,” Luo Ziling chuckled in response, then lowered his voice to remind Yang Qingyin, “Senior, I think this is just the beginning. There will be more exciting sequences coming up that will drag both you and your brother into this.”

After thinking for a while, Yang Qingyin asked softly over the phone, “Who do you think might be behind this?”

“The most likely suspects are from the Ling Family, and other people I’ve had disagreements with could also be possible, but it’s almost certain that it’s not the doing of your Yang Family,” Luo Ziling answered without much thought, but quickly added, “Of course, that’s just my guess. No one knows what the actual situation is.”

“Okay, I’ll have someone look into this matter thoroughly. It’s too much,” Yang Qingyin said, clearly furious. “If I find out who did this, I’ll definitely not let them off easily.”

“Senior, it appears they still have reservations, as they haven’t posted about you and me on the forum.” To keep Yang Qingyin from getting too angry, Luo Ziling joked with a giggle, “It would be really interesting if someone posted that you’re pregnant.”

“Luo Ziling,” Yang Qingyin called out his full name, then said with a threatening tone, “If you keep talking nonsense like this, I’ll stop talking to you.”

“Senior, we have to consider such possibilities!” Luo Ziling was startled by Yang Qingyin’s response and quickly stopped laughing to explain, “What if something like this really happens one day, or even appears on external networks? What do we do then? We need to be proactive and think of preventative and resolution strategies in advance, or else we’ll be at a disadvantage when it happens.”

After pondering a bit, Yang Qingyin also felt Luo Ziling made sense and was no longer annoyed, “Alright, you have a point, but don’t you dare joke with me like that again.”

“Does your brother know about this? Should we tell him?” Luo Ziling changed the subject, “I think it’s very likely that woman knows about this matter. If she didn’t tell anyone about her pregnancy, those people wouldn’t have anything to use to slander us. Should we have him ask that girl? Maybe she’ll reveal something crucial.”

After a moment of silence on the phone, Yang Qingyin said, “Alright, I’ll have Xiaoli go talk to that girl. As for Qingye, I’ll talk to him myself. It’s all trouble he caused. Without his nonsense, this might not have happened.”

Luo Ziling quickly comforted her, “Senior, these things are really nothing. Compared to direct assassination, they do much less harm. Don’t be angry. We made it through far worse before, so why worry about these little issues. Take my advice, don’t think too much about it and go to bed early.”

“Okay,” Yang Qingyin agreed.
