70 An Unforeseen Situation
“Silence!” – The Empress said coldly, slapping her hand onto the armrest of her throne, causing it to crack.
“Kill Victor? All right! I can give the order to kill him now, but what happens next? Do you have any sense at all?” – She said angrily.
The hall was sharply silenced; the ministers and envoys could not utter a word.
“Be silent…” The empress’s anger grew even stronger.
“You fucking idiots! Our empire only exists because the Dark Moon Temple master has no ambition, but you… You offer to kill the one she personally chose! What do you think she would do if she found out that we were the ones who killed him?!” – The Empress slammed her palm on the throne again, and its left side cracked even more.
At that moment, everyone shuddered, cold sweat pouring down their faces, they didn’t seem to take it into account at all.
“If that’s not enough for you, Victor has another terrifying protector behind his back, who is on the same level as me and if we conspire against him, I’m sure she’ll be the first to do her utmost to wipe out our empire…”.
“Now get out!” – The Empress was furious with her subordinates, they did not offer any useful suggestions, instead they seemed to be planning to destroy the Blue Wind Empire as quickly as possible.
“Your Majesty…”
Pop!
Before the minister could finish his words, a sudden pressure came down on him and he spat out a mouthful of blood.
“Out! I said!”
It was clear that the empress was now enraged; after the minister’s shameful demonstration, they said nothing more and immediately left the hall, leaving the empress alone.
The Empress’ mood had hit the rock bottom since Victor’s arrival, and it seemed her life had become a living hell. Every day she received complaints about her inaction, instead of understanding what the situation really was, everyone pretended to be stupid, not knowing of the consequences that would follow.
It even seemed to her that it was truly so, and she couldn’t help but think if it wasn’t better to just replace them all.
They were right about one thing, she really didn’t want to touch him or even go near him, it appeared as if even at the mention of his name bad things happened all around, he was like a walking disaster, an eye of a storm, that is, wherever he went bad things followed.
If opportunity arises, would she want him dead?
The Empress would have been the first to spring to action, but unfortunately his background was too terrifying and if he were to be killed, there would be so much trouble that the whole world would be turned on its head.
The Empress rubbed her eyebrows, which had become a habit of hers lately.
“What is Xue Yan even thinking, and where is that bitch Su Rong?” The empress was puzzled by two things.
The first is why Xue Yan let Victor go to such a dangerous place where death reigned, all alone with not even a single guardian, and the second, where Su Rong has disappeared to…
By her calculations, Su Rong should have found Victor long ago, knowing her, the more time she spent away from the object of her affection and at the same time addiction, the harder it became to cope for her and this fact was confirmed long ago.
The Empress hoped that as soon as Su Rong found out that Victor had become a disciple of the Temple of the Dark Moon, and his master was the one and only Xue Yan, she would be furious and do her best to kill her, this was an entirely expected outcome, she hoped to watch aside as the two destroyed each other, the more damage they inflicted on each other the more she would get out of it.
Unfortunately the reality begged to differ, nothing happened as she had expected it to, Su Rong did not find Victor and let Xue Yan go at the most inopportune moment, instead a scenario which she would not have ever anticipated happened.
If Victor gets the ancient emperor’s inheritance, then with his talent as well as the inheritance received, sooner or later she will have to bow her head before him.
This was not supposed to happen.
All the empress dreamed of now was that an unforeseen event would happen in the secret realm and kill everyone who entered it, or that some disciples would suddenly gang up, attack and kill Victor on the spot.
Such a situation was quite common in this world.
Shaking her head, she tried to put all the thoughts of Victor out of her mind and tiredly flopped down on her throne, today was the worst day she had had in a century.
**********
Victor didn’t know how by his actions he constantly caused headaches for the Empress and how he again shocked the world of cultivators by appearing in a place where no one expected him to appear. And even if he knew, he would have grinned wryly, for everything that had happened before would not be in his power. All this was an accident, a quirk of fate so to speak.
“Hmm? What is it?” After a bright flash of light engulfed Victor, he suddenly disappeared and entered the secret realm, he was alert and ready to face bloodthirsty monsters, a mysterious forest or an ordeal of gathering herbs or other items from the start.
In the novels that Victor read, such situations were occurring all the time, he was ready for anything, but not this….
There was nothing here, no bloodthirsty monsters or competitors, he was all alone in the vast expanse of a silent forest, not even animals seemed to inhabit it, because there pervaded only silence since his appearance.
This situation made him uncomfortable; it was the first time he had ever seen such a sight, so he was a little worried.
“Looks like everyone who entered the secret realm was scattered.” As he looked around he noticed how big the forest was, it could be described as enormous, because even after taking off a while ago, he couldn’t see its end, it seemed to have no limits, as if it were endless.
“What’s that?” Victor frowned.
The secret realm was a kind of separate world in that it also had sky and ground, people and animals, except that it only opened for a while before disappearing forever.
It was not known what it really was, many tried to study it but ended up with nothing, it was a mystery.
And now, looking up at the sky, Victor made sure of that.
