Hearing the elder’s words, Xue Yan’s eyes gleamed with curiosity, she wondered for what reason this old man had suddenly left the disciple selection and returned to the sect.
‘He must have begged and wooed that old man,’ she grinned inwardly, for such a reaction was well within her expectations though she maintained her cold expression.
“What did he say?” – She asked.
The elder hesitated for a while after her words, for he thought whether it was worth saying or not, although it was only a few words but the effect would be unexpected, even he himself had no idea what kind of reaction the sect master would show.
But Xue Yan, looking at Elder Wu’s hesitation, misunderstood his thoughts and assumed that he was afraid to tell her.
‘In any case Victor will suffer, if he does not join our sect, it’s better to get rid of him.’ With these thoughts, the elder completely discarded all his doubts, faking a shocked expression he said:
“Sect master, after I explained to him that relationships between men and women are forbidden in our sect, he simply laughed. It was only when I told him that this rule had been established directly by you that he became silent. I noticed the strange expression on his face and I soon found out the reason for it. He wanted to join our sect for one reason only and that reason was you, sect master!”-.
“What do you mean by that?” – Xue Yan asked, because she couldn’t understand what the elder was insinuating.
‘Do I really have to say it?’ The Elder thought, but noticing the sect master’s incomprehensible expression, he realized that she didn’t know what he was talking about at all.
‘Fuck,’ he cursed.
“Sect master, simply put, he is in love with you, and his purpose for joining the sect is to win you over!” – As he spouted these words, the elder took a few steps back and closed his eyes in preparation for supposed backlash from the sect master.
After a few seconds there was no reaction, which made the elder feel strangely uncomfortable, because he expected a vastly different reaction. He opened one eye carefully and looked at the sect master who appeared bewildered.
‘Why isn’t she reacting?’ He wondered.
Xue Yan stood with her mouth agape for a long time, it was something she never hoped to hear. Only after a long time did she seem to begin to come to her senses.
“I don’t think I heard you correctly.” – She thought she had misheard the elder and that his words were just her wistful hopes.
“He is in love with you and the purpose of his joining the sect is to win you over.” – Cautiously repeated the elder as he moved further away from Xue Yan, the distance between them increased to almost ten meters.
“Again?”
“He is in love with you and the purpose of his joining the sect is to win you over.”
“Again?”
“Again?”
Only after more than ten identical answers, Xue Yan accepted the fact that the elder’s words were true and she had not misheard. At the same time she was furious at his words, a man who is not only much younger than her but also has a relatively low cultivation base suddenly has the courage to confess to her and not only does he not even say it to her in person, she had never met him.
Shock, anger, and confusion, such emotions could be seen on her face.
“Bring him alone to me!” – Suddenly Xue Yan said before disappearing.
Noticing that she had indeed left, Elder Wu breathed a sigh of relief, everything went much easier than he had expected because he imagined that she would personally go to Tangxiang City and deal with Victor by herself.
“It’s not like she’s going to kill him once I bring him into the sect… I guess… I hope…” It was unclear from her facial expression whether her response would be positive or negative, but the elder did not want to think of the worst possible outcome.
There was no one who would dare confess to a sect master, especially when their status was about the same as heaven and earth to the ordinary people. Of course, Victor didn’t say that, but the Elder had invented it all in order to lure him into the sect.
For example, if he hadn’t said anything the sect master would have forbidden him to ever mention it, but now everything had changed, she personally wanted to meet him and the elder hoped she would change her mind. Now Victor must try to talk her down as if his life depended on it, although it truly did.
The elder had already told the sect master that Victor was in love with her, and if he tried to deny it when they met in person, the chance of him surviving her wrath was next to nil.
Elder Wu didn’t feel the least bit wrong about the situation, because he saw Victor at the first stage of selection. If he hadn’t met him he wouldn’t have cared about him at all, but looking at his appearance and behavior made things much scarier.
Not only was Victor very strong at such a young age, but he also had good looks and incredible charm. The elder saw favoritism in the eyes of the candidates when Victor spared the man who had insulted him.
If he is allowed to join another demonic sect or even worse into a righteous sect, another terrifying enemy may soon emerge, one that might have been their comrade, and all that just because of sect rules.
Elder Wu was now relieved, because he knew what would happen next, the sect master would most likely forgive Victor and accept him as a disciple, while Mikena would be a sort of bonus to the sect, and their sect would gain a big advantage.
He wasn’t worried about Victor’s alleged confession to the sect master at all, as he thought it was impossible, Xue Yan had been single all her life, so there was not a fraction of a chance that his confession would be accepted.
‘He’ll probably be furious with what I’ve done,’ thought the elder of Victor’s reaction.
Any practitioner, regardless of strength or weakness, would have spat out a mouthful of blood upon hearing the words he spoke on Victor’s behalf, the elder would not have been surprised at all if Victor had fainted were he to hear the conversation between him and the sect master.
“I’d better not tell him,” Elder Wu decided; he didn’t really want Victor to have to be dragged into the sect by force.
