The Wizard's Pursuit of Truth
Chapter 95 94: Mutual Investment, The Eye of Truth Transforms Again
A bleak cold wind whistled, carrying a few withered yellow leaves that tumbled through the sky above the Dark Land. They drifted past countless buildings, but just as they were about to enter the Upper Courtyard Area, an invisible force in the air pulverized them into imperceptible dust that dissipated into nothingness.
Transparent, ripple-like energy fluctuations were being released by a Giant Witch Array buried deep beneath the Dark Land. If an enemy were to attack from the sky, the array would instantly generate an Energy Shield to envelop the entire Dark Land.
As long as the Energy supply remained uninterrupted, even a bombardment of Witchcraft from an Official Wizard would be completely useless.
Wang Ya wore a black Wizard Robe. Its collar was raised, not folded down, shielding his neck and blocking out the ever-present autumn wind.
There were few Wizards on the streets, and all of them walked with hurried steps. Fallen leaves lay scattered across the tops of the buildings lining the street, while those on the ground were automatically cleared away by a Witch Array.
Dark Library
He glanced up at the tower-like building but didn't enter the Wizard Task hub on the first floor. He had yet to receive any follow-up notice regarding his designated task.
He had come this time mainly for the sake of a new ability his Eye of Truth had gained after its transformation: the ability to supplement its algorithms and database with information.
The second floor of the Library housed a vast collection of books. They recorded all sorts of events, Wizard history, and strange phenomena, even covering the unique landscapes of the Endless Sea and the Traits of rare Extraordinary Creatures.
If the Eye of Truth acquired this data, Wang Ya's understanding of the entire Wizard World would become much clearer, and the Eye's analytical ability could be enhanced even further.
He slowly ascended to the second floor via the curved staircase to the side.
A large door created through Witch Array Refining shimmered with a soft glow. Wang Ya placed his palm on it with practiced ease.
This time, however, no permission check occurred. Instead, a flash of light blinded him for a moment, and he found himself standing directly inside the second floor of the Dark Library.
Wang Ya's expression remained placid as he surveyed the environment. The first thing to catch his eye was the rows of books lining the walls of the spacious corridor.
As he walked deeper along the blue carpet, doors would occasionally interrupt the bookshelves on either side of the corridor, each inscribed with Wizard's Text.
[Wizard History Reference Room] [Endless Sea Chronicles Reference Room] [Extraordinary Creatures Species Reference Room] [Wizard Geography Reference Room] [Races and Cultures Reference Room]
A faint, pleasant fragrance filled the air. It seemed to be some special pheromone designed to help readers; Wang Ya noted its effects—a clear mind, a sense of tranquility, and quickened thoughts.
Although the effects were not especially potent, they still qualified as a type of Extraordinary Resource.
The various reference rooms appeared to be sealed by Witch Array Refining, requiring specific permissions to enter.
All the information Wang Ya needed was in these reference rooms, which likely held entire worlds of their own within.
He glanced up and saw a conspicuous sign directing visitors to the librarian's station.
At the end of the corridor, the space suddenly opened up into a vast chamber. Enormous, spiral-staircase-like bookshelves held a massive number of volumes. A few figures in Wizard Robes moved along the stairs, tending to the books.
There wasn't just one of these spiral staircase bookshelves, but as many as ten. All of them were filled to the brim with books, representing a colossal amount of information.
Surprise flickered in Wang Ya's eyes. This was a scene beyond his imagination.
Perhaps every book ever written since the founding of the Dark Land was contained here.
The palpable weight of history washed over him. Everything here was a part of the Wizard Continent's long history.
The splendor of Wizard civilization was evident even in this single corner.
"It seems you're a young one who enjoys books. It's rare to find someone who doesn't have that restless air about them."
A voice suddenly sounded from the side. Near the spiral bookshelves stood several rows of normal ones. A figure in a brown Wizard Robe placed the book in his hands back on a shelf and approached Wang Ya with a smile.
His skin was somewhat dark, and his eyes held a profound steadiness. His features didn't look particularly old, but he gave Wang Ya the impression of an elder, well past his middle age.
He had only encountered such an aura once before, from the Ancient One Wizard named Lao Sulei at the Heize Exchange.
Fine blue sparks of lightning, invisible to others, flashed in Wang Ya's pupils. 'Another one I can't see through,' he thought, startled.
'No, that's not quite right. Compared to before, my transformed Eye of Truth can see more, but the information is still incomplete.'
[Target: Unknown Wizard]
[Power: Extreme Wizard Apprentice]
[Spiritual Power: 47]
[Physique: 25]
This was an Extreme Wizard Apprentice, just like Wizard Yi Si, Kelan Wizard, and Jialan Wizard.
Wang Ya was at a loss for words. He could only feel that the Dark Land was full of hidden depths; powerful and unfathomable Wizards seemed to be everywhere.
'Since I can see this Extreme Wizard Apprentice's stats, this kind of information should also appear when I observe Wizard Yi Si now.'
'That Spiritual Power value is absurd. It actually reached the terrifying number of 47.'
Wang Ya now had a much clearer concept of what an Extreme Wizard Apprentice was.
'My current Spiritual Power is only 10.1, just enough to be considered a Level 1 Wizard Apprentice. A value of 20 is the threshold for a Level 2 Wizard Apprentice, and it likely continues to correspond to higher levels.'
