The Wizard's Pursuit of Truth
Chapter 62 - 61: Extraordinary Race, The Diary’s Truth
A wind blew from the direction of the Free Zone, making the forest leaves rustle. A five-thousand-meter stretch of forest was more than enough to form a small ecosystem.
In fact, after Wang Ya used his Wizard Mark to connect with the Protective Witch Array and leave his Consciousness Brand, he had already discovered some life forms within the boundaries of his Wizard’s Residence.
They were mostly ordinary beasts, with a few creatures that possessed Extraordinary Properties. This meant that supplying Harak’s daily food wouldn’t be much of a problem.
However, if he wanted to cultivate Harak’s bloodline and develop it into a race, this area wouldn’t be quite large enough.
The black crow perched on his shoulder, upon seeing such a wide-open environment, could no longer resist. It spread its wings and soared high, letting out a low, joyous "KRAW, KRAW, KRAW."
Though it was called a residence, what Wang Ya saw at the center of the witch array’s path was a magnificent Ancient Castle with black walls, some of which were covered in clinging moss and plants.
There were four entrances and exits leading to different areas. The personal laboratory was inside the Ancient Castle, as were the daily living quarters.
The cultivation room wasn’t just a single room but a rather large area. If necessary, he could even use most of the five-thousand-meter territory as a cultivation space.
Wang Ya placed his palm on the massive door at the entrance. His Wizard Mark successfully interfaced with the internal Witch Array Core. This was the main control hub for the entire five-thousand-meter Protective Witch Array, capable of monitoring every subtle movement within and presenting it as a visual feed.
He glanced at the interior environment, then visited the Magic Plant Garden, and finally came to a conclusion.
Compared to this, the dormitories at the Dark Wizard Academy’s Wizard Mansion were practically slums.
Most importantly, a personal laboratory was crucial for a Wizard.
HISS!
As Particle Energy surged through the underground conduits, the lights on the various pieces of Wizard Technology in the personal laboratory all lit up.
There was a workbench, a dissection table, an experiment table, a cultivation pod, and even fine-control robotic arms.
The Wizard Technology management system, which relied on the Witch Array Core, could even recognize the consciousness and voice of the Wizard’s Residence’s owner.
As long as he was within the bounds of the Wizard’s Residence, he could view any area and control the laboratory equipment at any time. It was like having an extra assistant.
A smile appeared on Wang Ya’s face. ’Now *this* is more like it. How could anyone conduct research on Extraordinary Knowledge in an environment like the Wizard Mansion?’
Of course, aside from Wizard Freshmen from Wizard Clans, ordinary Wizard Freshmen who lacked Magic Stones and various Extraordinary Resources could only live in the Wizard Mansion.
However, passing the promotion assessment and acquiring a Witchcraft meant they had the ability to go to the Dark Library, accept missions, and obtain Magic Stones and Extraordinary Resources.
As long as their thinking was clear, they made a plan, and they integrated into the Dark Land environment as quickly as possible, they could still get on the right track and continuously improve.
If they couldn’t see themselves clearly and remained stuck in the mindset from their time at the Wizard Camp, they would gradually be surpassed by others, and the gap would widen.
As for the consequences... the freshman Secret Realm competition in two and a half years was no child’s play. It was said to be quite dangerous, and without sufficient Power, it was easy to die inside.
Most of the freshmen from Ancient Forest Mountain had not mastered any Witchcraft. Compared to the other freshmen, they were indeed at a great disadvantage and much weaker.
But they had made their choice to come to the Dark Wizard Academy, so there was nothing more to be said.
Wang Ya stopped thinking about it. He had his own plans and his own considerations for what to do next.
Everyone has their own choices and their own path, which others cannot interfere with.
’Perhaps the Secret Realm competition is just another screening process for the Dark Land. There will definitely be more methods like this in the future.’
’In that case, any Wizard who manages to become powerful must be truly extraordinary.’
For some reason, Wang Ya thought of Tuta Wizard and Wizard Yi Si. He didn’t know much about the former, but his Power was undoubtedly terrifying. The latter, however, had truly made Wang Ya understand many of the realities and the fundamental nature of the Wizard World.
He could choose and purchase his Extraordinary Courses tomorrow.
There was no need to go back to the Wizard Mansion; he hadn’t left anything there anyway.
The only thing that troubled Wang Ya was that the area of his Wizard’s Residence was a bit too large, making travel inconvenient.
Fortunately, the Extraordinary Courses had fixed schedules, so he just needed to arrive at the corresponding classroom in the teaching building on time.
His gaze went through the window, watching Harak circling overhead, a thoughtful look flashing in his eyes.
Harak’s flight Speed was very fast; it could help him get around.
’Is it possible that by cultivating Harak and developing a race, I could obtain some Extraordinary Materials and resources?’
Although he wasn’t short on Magic Stones for now, his previous predicament had made him cautious. He couldn’t just sit back and squander his fortune.
’I must think of a stable way to earn Magic Stones.’
The Shadow Crow Bloodline, after initial Cultivation, had stabilized, and he had extracted a portion of Extraordinary Factor Bloodline from it.
It could have a beneficial evolutionary effect on Harak, perhaps even allowing it to develop its own unique Extraordinary Bloodline.
Possessing an Extraordinary Bloodline meant it could be passed down, and its offspring would have a high chance of being born as the same type of Extraordinary Creature.
There was also a chance of failure. Evolution and mutation could never be 100% certain, and a creature’s potential could never be fully predicted.
Harak flew down and landed on the windowsill, then onto Wang Ya’s outstretched arm.
In the end, he decided to use the Shadow Crow Bloodline on Harak. But before that, he still needed to study Extraordinary Anatomy and master the knowledge of Wizard Surgery from the rest of his Witch Books.
The creatures with Extraordinary Properties within his territory could also serve as practical subjects to verify his learning, killing two birds with one stone.
A low "kraw, kraw, kraw" sound, accompanied by a slight trembling of its body, showed that Harak was enjoying the feel of Wang Ya’s fingers stroking it.
「In the study.」
The books from Wang Ya’s Silver Bracelet were arranged on the bookshelf.
The draft paper on the desk was filled with notes and insights. The Witch Book had a very distinct texture, and Wang Ya subconsciously stroked its pages.
Next to the pen holder was a wooden box, inside which lay a white Finger Bone. The Soul Body from Green Forest flickered in and out of view. The best time to use the Red Dogtail Grass was at midnight.
Throughout the afternoon, Wang Ya didn’t impatiently explore every corner of his Wizard’s Residence.
He simply sent Harak out to capture some creatures with Extraordinary Properties while he immersed himself in comprehending the knowledge within his Witch Books.
[Hint: Unknown diary, analysis complete!]
The cool evening wind blew through the room, rustling the pages.
A hint of curiosity appeared in Wang Ya’s eyes. He put down the feather pen in his hand and tucked the draft paper, covered in his writing, between the pages marking his progress in the Witch Book.
The most mysterious book from the red metal ring was finally about to reveal its secrets to him.
