The Wizard's Pursuit of Truth
Chapter 203 140: Entering the Land of Inheritance and Using Dark Authority
Wang Ya had been pondering this for a very long time. For half a month, he hadn't even stepped out of his study. He had finished the last of the Golden Ant Rice days ago.
It had increased his Extraordinary Spiritual Power by about 0.4.
But he still hadn't found a solution; it seemed to be an unsolvable problem. In the end, Wang Ya even grew agitated. His state of mind had become unstable. Forget completing the Witchcraft—he couldn't even sit still in his chair, feeling restless and irritable.
His efforts to complete and improve the two Middle-tier Witchcrafts had hit a bottleneck.
Inside the study, Wang Ya put down his feather pen and let out a long breath. He opened the window, and the cold air from outside rushed against his pale cheeks, bringing a refreshing coolness that soothed his agitated mood.
'He knew he couldn't go on like this.'
'He was putting too much pressure on himself. No, it was more that locking oneself in a room for extended periods had a psychological impact.'
This was a problem that every Wizard encountered, more or less. In severe cases, it could lead to mental illness.
It was a pressure that needed to be released.
Some Wizards vented through carnal desire. Others inflicted violence and pain, finding release in screams of agony... There were many methods, depending on the Wizard's preference.
The fact that Wang Ya had lasted this long while maintaining a relatively stable mental state, without any major issues, was a testament to his immense rationality.
The pressure and agitation had built up bit by bit, like water dripping through stone... As Wang Ya gazed at the scenery of the primeval Ancient Forest outside, he knew he needed a release as well.
He was also beginning to understand that improving Witchcraft wasn't something that could be accomplished overnight. It required slow, patient research to yield results.
Especially since his foundation as a Dream Wizard wasn't solid, and his understanding of the Dream World was quite shallow.
Those few months in the Illusory Dream Garden... if he had spent that time in the real world studying other Wizard Paths, he likely wouldn't have even mastered a handful of the relevant Witchcrafts, let alone become proficient in them.
"I've been too hasty," Wang Ya muttered to himself.
But deep down, he always felt a strange sense of urgency, as if something were chasing him.
As the disciple of an Official Wizard, and moreover the Child of the Dark, he shouldn't have been so anxious. But the pressure was unavoidable, coming at him from all sides.
Wang Ya closed the window, his gaze turning cold. 'His state of mind is only one part of the problem,' he thought. 'The other is that my foundation is still not solid enough, especially when it comes to applying consciousness and Spiritual Power.'
His knowledge of Dream Power came from the Illusory Dream Wizard and some of his own research. However, compared to the solid foundation of the Elemental Wizard Path, Wang Ya, who had switched paths midway, was still considerably weaker when it came to the Dream Wizard Path.
.....
「Inside the Level 3 Laboratory.」
Wang Ya had changed into a white lab coat and was holding a Dissection Knife. He wore a Face Armor, its eye slots fitted with special lenses to protect against corrosive liquids and even gases.
On the dissection table lay an ordinary tiger, its chest and abdominal cavity cut open. Wang Ya was removing its internal organs... The tiger was not dead, but its vocal cords and genitals had been removed, leaving it terrified of the two-legged beast before it.
The tiger's vital signs were maintained at a stable level. Using his skilled Wizard dissection techniques and his research experience in Biological Cultivation, tissue rejection, and microscopic analysis, Wang Ya implanted the organs of a real Extraordinary Creature into the tiger's body.
He didn't use any auxiliary Extraordinary Materials, like the ones Harak had used to reduce rejection when fusing with the Shadow Crow Bloodline.
Watching the tiger struggle in agony on the dissection table, the expression under Wang Ya's Face Armor remained unchanged. His lips moved in a soft whisper, "It's okay. Soon. It will be better soon. You will be reborn, little one."
As he whispered these words, a hint of fanaticism crept onto Wang Ya's otherwise placid face. He felt a deep, heartfelt pleasure.
This was especially true when he poured a stock solution—extracted from the cellular material of a Gendas' Dog—into the abdominal and thoracic cavities, drenching the various organs.
The active cells from the Gendas Flesh rapidly began to devour the surrounding flesh and Vitality. Instinctively, they also began to fuse with the tiger and the Extraordinary organs.
The Extraordinary properties neutralized each other, developing in a direction that even Wang Ya couldn't predict. At this moment, the pleasure in his heart reached its zenith.
It was an unconventional biological modification, using the most ordinary of creatures to conduct a downward-scaling Wizard Experiment with the Gendas' Dog.
He had made no specific predictions, nor had he used the Eye of Truth for analysis.
This was completely random. It was an attempt by Wang Ya to see what unknown results would be triggered by combining two things: the creature's own potential and instincts, and the Gendas cells, which had lost their illusory-level spiritual consciousness and retained only their purest physical aspects.
This was the method Wang Ya had chosen to release his mental pressure.
The moment he finished suturing the wound and put down the Wizard Dissection Knife, the activity of his Extraordinary Spiritual Power returned to its peak. His consciousness, including his thought processes, felt clearer than ever before.
Wizard Experiments were supposed to be rigorous. One was expected to make predictions in advance and use various methods to gain some understanding of the potential outcome.
Compared to other Wizards, Wang Ya's method for releasing pressure was truly much, much gentler.
Abandoning so-called predictions, inspections, and rigor... this freedom to modify and conduct a Wizard Experiment at will, allowing the subject to adapt savagely and naturally without any interference, brought him immense pleasure.
