The Wizard's Pursuit of Truth
Chapter 100 - 95: Core of Death, The Embarrassed Wizard Yi Si
For a Level 1 Wizard Apprentice, the difficulty of the Evil God incident made it worthy of being called an A Level Wizard Task.
If not for his decisive use of the golden pocket watch at the end, Wang Ya might not have made it back.
The mention of the Land of Inheritance made Wang Ya’s eyes light up. He had long yearned to visit the second floor of the Upper House Library, and the promise of a free selection made it all the more appealing.
Two thousand Dark Points... an amount that would take a Wizard Freshman over a decade to save.
These points could be spent at the Land of Inheritance, the Resource Management Department, or even the Secret Realm Management Department, making them incredibly valuable to a Wizard.
However, the reward Wang Ya needed most—Magic Stones—wasn’t included. This confused him. ’Have Magic Stones become so worthless that they don’t even qualify as a reward anymore?’
Among the many Secret Realms, both large and small, within the Dark Land, the Illusory Dream Secret Realm didn’t seem to exist.
Wang Ya was puzzled by the first reward.
Headquarters would never make such a mistake.
Since its creation and subsequent repairs by several Divine Blood Official Wizards, the Wizard Technology Hub had operated without any anomalies.
Dear Mr. Wang Ya Harak, this is Wade. Wizard Kelan asked me to deliver something to you. Would it be possible to meet at the Tequila Tavern?
As a new message arrived, the face of an old wizard immediately surfaced in Wang Ya’s mind: ancient, with age spots dotting his wrinkles.
It was the Wizard from task administration who had assisted him before.
This left Wang Ya even more baffled. ’Are all the messages this strange?’
Although he had exchanged identification information with Wizard Kelan, they had never actually communicated through their Wizard Marks, so they had no real connection.
’What could they possibly have that’s so important it must be given to me?’ Wang Ya frowned, unable to think of anything.
But a peculiar feeling grew within him. ’Perhaps I have to go and see for myself to understand.’
Wang Ya did not reply to Denno Wizard, but chose to reply to Wizard Wade, saying he would arrive in an hour.
Withered, desolate leaves drifted in the wind. Above the Commercial Street, they gathered under some invisible force, forming a faint, flickering figure that looked as if it could vanish from the world at any second.
Watching the direction where the person and the bird left, this figure let out a deep sigh. ’To think I’d personally use Psychological Suggestion on a little one. Good thing no one saw, or I would’ve lost all face.’
’A Wizard Freshman with such high spiritual aptitude is truly rare. Another one might not appear for a hundred years.’
’The Illusory Dream Wizard finally couldn’t sit still, especially with the risk of the boy being poached by the White Bone Lineage.’
’And while Kelan’s spiritual aptitude is decent, it pales in comparison.’
The figure vanished completely. The autumn wind took the gathered leaves and scattered them across the Commercial Street.
「In the heart of the Dark Land, within the immense and profound Dark Tower.」
Gloom Wizard stood on the balcony of the Third Layer, overlooking the entire Dark Land.
The autumn wind caressed her hair. She was short in stature, with delicate features and fair skin, the very picture of radiant beauty.
Her sage-like eyes gazed toward the Lower House’s Commercial Street, a thoughtful glint passing through them.
The corners of her mouth lifted into an arc. ’I didn’t expect that even the ever-reclusive Illusory Dream Wizard would personally make a move now. This is getting more and more interesting.’
Gloom Wizard’s gaze gradually deepened, and her brow furrowed slightly.
’The Dark Cultivation Plan has been set in motion. No one knows what the outcome will be, but it concerns ’Deep Blue’... it’s far too important. Perhaps I should step in and force both factions to show some restraint.’
......
Unlike the Night Night Night Tavern, the Tequila Tavern had an atmosphere more akin to a place for afternoon tea.
Tequila-infused tea from the Mortal World was mixed with Wizard’s Brew to create a novel and uniquely flavorful beverage.
Wade drew the curtains of the private room. Even though a Witch Array prevented any information from leaking, his actions seemed born of long-standing habit. His expression was so solemn that he hadn’t even taken a sip of the drink on the table.
Wang Ya, however, was not in a rush. He sat back in his chair, picked up the green beverage from the table, and took a sip.
"I was wondering why you wanted to see me, Wizard Wade," Wang Ya said. The peculiar premonition he’d felt had largely dissipated upon entering the Tequila Tavern.
The task had already been settled, and the corresponding rewards were ready for collection at the Resource Management Department.
A Hollow Long Tube sat on the table. With a solemn expression, Wizard Wade pushed it toward Wang Ya.
Wang Ya was taken aback. ’So this is why he wanted to meet me... It looks like there’s some kind of special paper inside.’
"Wizard Kelan entrusted me to deliver this to you. My task is complete, so I will be on my way, Wizard Wang Ya." When Wade saw Wang Ya take hold of the Hollow Long Tube, the solemn expression on his face finally relaxed.
He approached every matter, big or small, with the utmost gravity.
It was this very habit that had defined his career since he became an administrative Wizard, carrying him from youth to old age. Perhaps things would only change for him after death.
Wizard Wade picked up the drink from the table and quickly left the private room, leaving a somewhat stunned Wang Ya behind.
He didn’t know what to make of it.
