Chapter 1145: The Legend of Prime, Nascent Soul Avatar

Chapter 1145: The Legend of Prime, Nascent Soul Avatar

Vaan could only postpone his visit to the Soul Master Association until he possessed the strength to protect himself from the potential malice of other Soul Masters there.

However, if he could, he truly wished to visit the Soul Master Association right away.

Although the Soul Master Hall’s heritage was not much, it still allowed Vaan to learn more about the history and origin of Soul Masters.

’Before the birth of Chaos, the fate of all Chaosverses was to enter their natural cycle of creation and destruction, from coming into existence to returning to non-existence. Nothing was eternal, and nothing was true.’

’From the beginning of the universe to its ending, it was nothing more than a passing thought, a speck of dust in a grander reality. An entire lifetime of existence and myriad changes could be just a single instant.

’Time is relative to the perceiver.’

’It was the first Soul Master who put a stop to the final destruction and allowed the continuation of life to flourish after the end, rewriting the laws of reality and birthing myriad changes.’

’He, who goes by many names and titles, has been collectively referred to as the Allfather by all, for he is father of all beings. It is because of him that all life exists, and it is also because of him that all life continues.’

’He is the remaker of the flawed world, the surpasser of the natural laws, and the wielder of the everlasting; he is the first Beyonder, the god of all gods, the Prime Originator.’

’He is also... my father, the father of the Lord of Chaos and the Lord of the Boundless Seas and Skies, Leon Crawford...’

Vaan fell silent as he drew upon this conclusion from the clues left in historic records.

With a father like this, how could Albion, the Lord of Chaos, and he, the Lord of the Boundless Seas and Skies, possibly remain ordinary?

With such a mighty figure as a father, Vaan’s desire to not be ordinary became stronger.

He refused to be a mediocre son and a useless older brother.

This had nothing to do with the expectation others had of him; this was the expectation he imposed on himself.

Nevertheless, although the Soul Master Hall contained records mentioning how impressive and glorious the feats of the First Soul Master were, only Vaan knew just how much his father had suffered to achieve them.

After all, he had been to the Time Chamber relic and recalled every word inscribed there.

Unlike the current denizens of Chaos, his father was born in an era without eternity, when the everlasting was still a pursuit rather than a reality. Despite becoming the most powerful being of his time, he was forced to watch everyone and everything around him being killed and destroyed, reduced to nothing.

The amount of pain, despair, loneliness, and helplessness he experienced during this desperate period was not something anyone else could begin to understand. R̃ᴀọ₿ЕS

It was through his sheer will that Chaos became what it is today.

Unfortunately, although the Soul Master Hall’s libraries contained more records about the First Soul Master, there were still no details as to why such a mighty being faded from history.

No one seemed to know why his father disappeared shortly after Chaos was established.

Of course, the Soul Master Hall’s libraries recorded multiple theories and guesses, but none were concrete; they were mostly blind assumptions with no solid basis.

That said, the most commonly accepted theory among the Soul Masters was that the First Soul Master had transcended the limits of the flesh and his soul had ascended to a higher dimension.

Based on this theory, many Soul Masters also believed that Chaos itself was actually the First Soul Master’s sea of consciousness.

This was because, before becoming the First Soul Master, the person was the Primal Chaos Master, and before becoming the Primal Chaos Master of the Primal Chaos Era, the person was also known as Shiva, the Destroyer, due to their mastery of the Nihility Law.

However, after establishing Chaos, the person was also briefly called Mahesvara, the Lord of Creation and Destruction.

Nevertheless, the most important point to note was their mastery of the Nihility Law. By mastering the power of nothingness, the First Soul Master could survive the sea of nothingness.

Since the First Soul Master was the only one who could survive the sea of nothingness in the Primal Chaos Era, it was not surprising to link him to Chaos’s ability to withstand the constant erosive power of nihility.

Regardless of the truth, the Soul Master Hall’s limited records didn’t elaborate further.

’Perhaps Soul Master Vastmind or Soul Master Voidwhisper may know some information that isn’t recorded in the library. I should seek them out and inquire about this later,’ Vaan noted.

Shortly after adjusting his mental state, Vaan prepared to work towards his first side objective: Improving the system.

’Although the system has become redundant at my current level, it had been of great assistance at the lowest point of my life. As such, it holds a special place in my heart,’ Vaan thought.

He couldn’t abandon the system just because it became useless.

More importantly, Vaan suspected the system still had significant untapped potential that had not yet been accessed because it was incomplete or damaged. If he could repair or complete the system, it might just continue to assist him for many more years.

After all, its origin was unlikely to be simple.

’This system is related to Balmodan, but considering its nature, it’s definitely not something Balmodan could have created. However, Balmodan discovered the Prime Originator’s Time Chamber, an ancient relic from the Primal Chaos Era.’

’It wouldn’t be surprising if the system were also something that emerged from it, thus, related to the Prime Originator,’ Vaan thought.

To modify the system, Vaan had to understand its whole structure.

However, in order to understand the system’s whole structure, he had to be able to perceive every part of it.

Unfortunately, since the system was bound to his soul core, occupying the surface layer like an attachment rather than a fusion, attempting to inspect it was like trying to look at his blind side.

Of course, if it were actually fused with his soul core, it would have been even harder to observe.

After all, the source of his Omni-Sense emerges from the soul core. Being attached to its surface was just right within its blind spot. Things would be much simpler if the system were only floating within the spacious sea of consciousness.

’Now that I wield the power of thought and have learned various Soul Master Secret Arts, Cultivation Techniques, and Visualization Methods, I can devise a way to work around this.’

’The first step is to condense a Nascent Soul Avatar.’

’This process is like duplicating my soul, allowing the Nascent Soul Avatar to inherit my consciousness and abilities. However, it is essentially a concentration of soul power. Thus, its death will not harm me, only weaken me.’

’Moreover, it can act as a power bank for my soul power,’ Vaan mused.

A Soul Master could only hold so much soul power at each realm.

However, by condensing multiple Nascent Soul Avatars, a Soul Master could wield soul power several times greater than their limit.

After all, their soul power would gradually replenish over time, even if it was consumed.

On the other hand, unused soul power was only a waste.

’Generally, Soul Masters only condense Nascent Soul Avatars to use them as power banks. I doubt anyone is bold enough to use their Nascent Soul Avatars to modify their innate soul talents.’

Modifying one’s own soul was extremely risk, while entrusting the task to another Soul Master required even greater trust.

After all, the slightest mistake could result in irreparable damage or even death.

’Given the flawed control over the power of thought, the chances of forced-awakened Soul Masters performing successful soul modifications should actually be rare. Most likely, there are many more cases of failure.’

Unless there were additional preparations and means to improve the success rate, Vaan believed this should be the case for other Soul Masters.

’However, I self-awakened with zenith control, so I don’t need to face this problem,’ Vaan mused.

Of course, he currently didn’t have any need to modify his soul. Thus, he didn’t need to engage in any risk. He simply wanted to inspect the system’s true form.

’There are two ways to condense a Nascent Soul Avatar.’

’The simplest method is to rely purely on one’s soul power reserve. With enough soul power supply and the power of thought, one can quickly condense the Nascent Soul Avatar.’

’However, if the Nascent Soul Avatar is not successfully condensed in one go, the soul power will eventually disperse and fail to condense, resulting in a waste of effort, time, and soul power.’

’The other method is to draw connecting Soul Runes to establish the frame of the Nascent Soul Avatar. These Soul Runes will not disperse and will even enhance the condensation of the Nascent Soul Avatar.’

’Creating Soul Runes requires more time and effort, but it will ensure the quality condensation of the Nascent Soul Avatar. This is like a save-and-load work progress. It’s more secured and reliable.’

’Although I am confident in my soul power reserve and control over the power of thought, there’s no need to risk the brute strength method.’

Vaan’s eyes flickered with a firm decision.

It had not been long since he experienced soul power exhaustion. He was not interested in experiencing it again any time soon.
