Chapter 1816: Chapter 749: Competitors_2
"What?"
Han Zechen and Chen Sicheng were startled by what they heard, and quickly moved to the door to look across the street.
Sure enough, compared to the lonely quietness on their side, the Wanghai Farewell Society across the street was bustling with people, with a line of interviewees holding resumes stretching out for tens of meters.
"What the hell?"
Han Zechen’s first reaction was that these people had mistakenly gone to the wrong place, and immediately wanted Xiao Hai and Da Qiang to go figure out what was happening.
"I’ll go!"
Chen Sicheng, more anxious than Han Zechen, volunteered himself and hurriedly ran across the street.
Han Zechen lit a cigarette and frowned while waiting, only able to see from afar that Chen Sicheng was weaving through the crowd across the street, occasionally pointing and negotiating with them about something, but it was unclear what they talked about because Chen Sicheng’s expression was becoming increasingly grim, imbued with an incredulous look.
After about a dozen minutes, Chen Sicheng finally returned.
"Manager Chen, what’s going on? You didn’t bring anyone over?"
Han Zechen asked suspiciously.
Chen Sicheng, appearing somewhat lost and dispirited, did not immediately respond. He mumbled something like "crazy, they’re crazy."
"Manager Chen?"
Growing impatient, Han Zechen patted him.
Only then did Chen Sicheng come to his senses, "Ah... Sorry, Mr. Han, I was a bit confused just now."
"What exactly happened, and what’s with your expression?"
"They’re crazy, Mr. Han!"
Chen Sicheng suddenly became agitated again, "Do you know how much they offer for a basic sales salary? Three thousand, three thousand! Plus weekends off, and damn five insurance benefits..."
"What?!"
Han Zechen’s face changed upon hearing this, utterly shocked.
Even though Qin Island is considered a leading city among the second-tier cities, offering a basic salary of three thousand for a private enterprise’s sales position is unbelievably extravagant.
The basic salary he offered to his nightclub sales staff was already considered high in the industry, but it was only two thousand five hundred, and only experienced salespeople could earn that base salary... Just how does a tiny pet funeral shop do it?
What Han Zechen originally described as "industry average plus a 10% increase" was merely a basic salary of 1800, incomparable to the 3000 base salary.
"Isn’t that a performance-based base salary?"
"No, I asked. It’s a non-performance-based base salary, regardless of experience. Even recent graduates are offered this deal... and they plan to hire ten people in total."
Chen Sicheng turned disenchanted again, probably recalling the unreliable companies he encountered fresh out of school, none of which could match this.
"Is there really business done this way?"
Han Zechen was also baffled, "Wait, what qualifies them? It’s just a small shop of thirty to fifty square meters, and they want to hire ten people? I have a place this big and was only planning to hire three people at first..."
The shop Han Zechen rented had nearly a hundred square meters, aiming for a high-end luxury experience, intending to differentiate itself from the Wanghai Farewell Society right from the start. But unexpectedly, on the first day of opening, he couldn’t even recruit employees.
How is this going to work?
While Han Zechen and Chen Sicheng were at a loss, there was a knock on the door, and a rather shrewd-looking man entered with a resume.
"Excuse me... Is this the Coastal Farewell Society?"
"Yes, yes."
Chen Sicheng’s eyes lit up immediately, "Are you here for the interview? This way, please."
"Uh, actually I didn’t submit my resume here, I applied to the Wanghai Farewell Society, but damn it, it’s the second time and they still haven’t picked me... Sorry, couldn’t hold back from swearing, but I can’t comprehend it. I’ve been the sales champion in two industries before, what makes them think they can dismiss me?"
The man grumbled.
Upon hearing the sensitive term "sales champion," Chen Sicheng’s eyes immediately brightened up and he eagerly went forward to welcome him:
"Their eyes are blind dogs who can’t recognize talent, but we’re different, come, come, this way, I’ll make you tea..."
"Yes, yes, rest assured, the benefits we offer will definitely satisfy you!"
Han Zechen also realized, no matter what, if the man before them truly was a talent, he had to be retained.
...
Wanghai Farewell Society.
When the long line of interviews finally ended, it was already nearing noon.
Feeling somewhat parched, Zhou Wang received an ice-cold cola handed over by a delicate white hand, and inhaling the faint fragrance, Zhou Wang looked up in surprise:
"Sister Liu, how did you know I like drinking ice-cold soda?"
The beautiful lady Liu Rushuang, dressed in a fitting professional suit today, accentuating her long legs and curvy figure, awkwardly turned her head at the question.
"Hmm, I just grabbed it randomly... Perhaps it was a coincidence."
Zhou Wang chuckled.
He had actually noticed Liu Rushuang earlier discreetly inquiring with Sister Xiao Yu who was helping out in the shop, but naturally, he wouldn’t expose her.
Amused as he was, Zhou Wang began to fret again.
This luscious and utterly juicy-looking Sister Liu seemed to be acting more and more out of character... Like today, a weekday, she set aside her company’s potential pressing matters only to come early to his small shop to help out.
Apparently, it was due to the need to sign a contract with the neighborhood committee this morning, but in reality, her presence didn’t affect anything since Zhou Wang was already well-acquainted with Sister Wang from the committee.
So Liu Rushuang’s slightly obvious intentions were practically written all over her face.
Zhou Wang temporarily didn’t know what to do, opting to play dumb for the time being.
As the atmosphere grew a tad awkward and Zhou Wang felt the need to say something, Yang Hao barged in fiercely with his signature opening line, "Whoa, crap."
"Brother Dog, you’re amazing!"
"What’s amazing, what are you blabbering about?"
Zhou Wang looked at him perplexed but secretly breathed a sigh of relief; Yang Hao’s sudden appearance certainly eased the situation.
"How did you know we’d face a competitor across the street?"
Yang Hao exclaimed in surprise, "I was worried seeing their décor and store size far surpass ours, but guess what I just found out after snooping around?"
"What?"
"They haven’t recruited a single employee!"
Yang Hao couldn’t mask his excitement, punching the air, "Brother Dog, you’re incredible! At first, I didn’t understand why you offered such high salaries to recruit people, but now I get it... It’s the legendary cut-off plan; if they can’t hire anyone, the nearby community clients still belong to us, what gives them the right to compete with us?"
Though unsure what scenarios Yang Hao’s mind is concocting, Zhou Wang could only grin wryly in response.
Heaven knows... I just wanted to raise costs, so losing money could seem more reasonable!
Seriously, I didn’t think about all this.
But anyhow, for now, it appeared Yang Hao could at least accept the high salary offer, which was considered a good outcome.
And Yang Hao’s ramblings seemed to alter Liu Rushuang’s gaze toward Zhou Wang; perhaps she was somewhat impressed by Zhou Wang’s "foresight."
This further stressed Zhou Wang.
"Yes, don’t worry, I’ve got everything under control; mere peers are no threat."
Zhou Wang truly didn’t care about the appearance of the Coastal Farewell Society, secretly wishing they’d snatch away all his business so he could lose money faster, of course, on the surface, Zhou Wang still had to join Yang Hao in taking a stand against them.
"Alright, now that we’ve nearly filled our manpower, the next step is expanding the store; following the original plan, I want to open the second branch within a week!"
Zhou Wang ambitiously waved his hand, "Haozi, I’ll leave the store’s business to you for these two days; I’ll be busy dealing with bank loans."
