The Wealthy Tycoon's Game of Life
Chapter 1813 - 748: Midnight Snack
Chapter 1813: Chapter 748: Midnight Snack
Then, under the dim halo of the bedroom lights, the two began a "big eyes staring at small eyes" mode.
Hugging Ding Yi’s smooth waist, Zhou Wang blinked at her, and Ding Yi blinked back at Zhou Wang, her eyes even darker and brighter.
Both of them: "..."
Eventually, Zhou Wang couldn’t help it, "Well, aren’t you supposed to do something? Wasn’t it your suggestion?"
"But... I don’t know what to do!"
Ding Yi shrugged innocently.
Why didn’t you say so sooner!
Zhou Wang thought about it too — Ding Yi was like a blank slate, and for an experienced driver, what could compare to the sense of achievement from guiding a novice on their journey?
But before that, the best way to ease Ding Yi’s shyness was... to make her happy first.
Then Ding Yi tilted her head in confusion, watching as Zhou Wang gradually disappeared under the covers.
"You... hey?"
Ding Yi had only spoken a word when her body suddenly tensed, emitting a bewildered gasp.
Her cheeks flushed a deep red, like crabs just taken out of a steamer or tomatoes ripe by the end of July, no longer able to form a coherent sentence.
...
Zhou Wang remembered that when he was young, in Yunan Province there was a widely loved food called Zhe’ergen, or fishwort.
At the time, he couldn’t understand how anyone could enjoy eating such a thing.
Even just watching others eat it made Zhou Wang feel nauseous.
As a result, for many years, Zhou Wang, unable to accept it, would skip similar scenes even in films.
But perhaps that’s where the fun in life lies.
We eventually grow, experience, and change many of the ideas we once held onto.
Whether it’s cilantro or Zhe’ergen, only after truly tasting them do we have the right to judge their flavor.
And at this moment, the late-night gourmet Zhou Wang’s evaluation was: "Mouth-watering, endlessly memorable, tasty without being greasy."
Of course, Zhe’ergen also comes in different varieties, and Zhou Wang didn’t like every type of Zhe’ergen fairly. But a rare Zhe’ergen, crystal clear and free from any weeds clinging to it — Zhou Wang didn’t think anyone in the world could resist its allure.
Zhou Wang simply couldn’t stop.
But Ding Yi clearly couldn’t understand this matter; she had never eaten Zhe’ergen and couldn’t comprehend why anyone would be passionate about such a thing.
In fact, feeling Zhou Wang devour it voraciously, Ding Yi almost lost her ability to think.
She could only nervously grip the corner of the blanket, but when she tilted her head up, she couldn’t even make out Zhou Wang’s face.
Ding Yi thought it was far from sanitary because Zhou Wang was essentially eating it raw, and the Zhe’ergen hadn’t been specially cleaned. Yet, she couldn’t find the strength to stop Zhou Wang and could only weakly use her tiny, glistening toes to nudge Zhou Wang, hoping he’d stop.
As that strange sensation accumulated, Ding Yi’s biggest concern inevitably happened.
The Zhe’ergen was thoroughly bitten by Zhou Wang, and juice flowed everywhere.
The whole room was suddenly filled with an indescribable peculiar odor.
"Delicious!"
What embarrassed Ding Yi the most was that Zhou Wang not only felt no shame but even wiped his mouth and gave his final feedback.
Needless to say, Ding Yi ended up giving him a round of chaotic pinches, but Zhou Wang still appeared content and pleased.
Ding Yi didn’t want to pay attention to Zhou Wang anymore; she covered her face with the blanket and didn’t look at Zhou Wang again.
"Hey, how can you be like this, promising we’d eat together? I’m full; it’s your turn now, isn’t it?"
"Who said we were going to eat together!"
Ding Yi, struggling under her breath, stretched out a small hand to pinch Zhou Wang fiercely again.
"Hmm? Didn’t you mean what I thought you meant earlier?"
"I... I’m not ready yet..."
Ding Yi said gloomily.
"That’s not acceptable; you’re a guest, and I can’t let you go to sleep hungry!"
Zhou Wang wasn’t having any of it; otherwise, all his earlier effort would have been for nothing.
"If you don’t eat, then I’ll have to feed you myself."
Zhou Wang threatened while lifting the blanket; with Ding Yi’s current state of weakness, she had no power to oppose Zhou Wang. Watching Zhou Wang approach her face as if he intended to forcibly pry open her mouth, Ding Yi, never having experienced such a spectacle before, was suddenly panic-stricken.
"Stop it, Zhou Wang, I hate you!"
Emitting a completely powerless playful protest, Ding Yi ultimately had to admit defeat.
"Fine, I’ll eat, but... I’ll do it myself, and you’re not allowed to force me!"
Ding Yi glanced curiously but quickly turned her flushed face away.
Seeing Ding Yi finally yield, Zhou Wang leisurely lay down, waiting for Ding Yi to feed herself.
Faced with a food she had never encountered before, Ding Yi clearly felt a bit hesitant. However, Ding Yi was ultimately Ding Yi. After closing her eyes and presumably giving herself some sort of psychological encouragement, she finally moved closer.
At first, Ding Yi didn’t know how to start; she merely sniffed the Zhe’ergen cautiously, then swiftly licked it, seemingly wanting to see if its taste matched its unpleasant appearance.
But Ding Yi soon seemed to relax, maybe realizing that this food’s sensation wasn’t as bad as she imagined.
Finally, she eased up, and under Zhou Wang’s patient guidance, she started eating her first Zhe’ergen meal in life.
