Chapter 753: Frey vs Amon (2)
Chapter 753: Frey vs Amon (2)
Before Frey could unleash anything else, Amon decided to finish it.
He moved his hand.
A grim sign that made both Gehrman and Abraham stiffen instantly.
“That—!”
It was the same ultra-high-speed strike.
“Damn it! Get away from him, Frey!” Abraham shouted at the top of his lungs.
Amon’s smile widened.
“Too late.”
At that moment, it felt as though time itself froze as Amon threw his punch toward Frey.
The strike was monstrously fast .. faster even than Gehrman.
At Frey’s current level, he should have been incapable of either enduring such an attack or dodging it.
Amon was certain of his victory.
Even Gehrman and Abraham saw the shadow of defeat looming on the horizon.
But in less than a fraction of a second …
The demon’s smile shattered.
“…Huh?” A hoarse sound escaped Amon’s throat as he realized his devastating punch had struck nothing but empty air.
His fist had missed.
“He—” Amon muttered, as Abraham and Gehrman spoke in unison:
“He dodged it?!”
Indeed—Frey had evaded the attack.
Not only that, he counterattacked immediately.
Amon barely managed to block it, his fist bleeding even more from the impact.
“Impossible…”
Amon denied it as he lunged forward again, attacking with both hands.
Perhaps it had been luck.
Though luck alone could never save anyone from an attack like that.
What happened next erased all doubt.
The flash strike—meant to be faster than light itself—never touched Frey.
He evaded it.
Then, in a blink, he surged forward, delivering a massive vertical slash that swallowed Amon whole—ripping across his face in a violent arc and destroying one of the demon’s eyes.
Amon recoiled in sheer shock, stumbling backward while clutching his blood-soaked face.
He kept retreating—far, far away—until a vast distance separated him from Frey.
All of this unfolded before Gehrman’s eyes, his gaze widening in sheer shock .. just like Abraham’s.
“That flash strike… one I can barely evade even at my absolute peak, using every shred of my speed and heightened senses after slowing it down…
And he avoided it… that easily?!”
What was happening now far exceeded Gehrman’s expectations .. so much so that he could only stare at Frey in stunned disbelief.
“How did he do it?”
The engineer wondered .. until realization struck when he looked into Frey’s eyes again.
And that only deepened his astonishment.
“Those—!! The Void!!” Gehrman shouted as the truth finally dawned on him.
The way Frey was responding to Amon’s attacks was etched clearly into his vision.
For now, within each of Frey’s eyes, a single letter had been carved deep—
A V.
“The Fifth Stage of Shadow Adaptation: The Void.”
“Nameless’s visual ability… did he awaken that too, this quickly?!”
Gehrman was the first to grasp it.
Amon followed immediately after .. his demeanor turning completely serious.
Amon healed the wound on his face and regenerated his eye, all while staring intently at Frey.
“Those eyes… what exactly do you see?”
Amon had never witnessed anything like this before.
And the only one who knew the answer ..
Was Frey himself.
He remained silent.
Yet the world before him had changed entirely.
Inside his mind, even he questioned it.
“What… am I seeing?”
The world had turned completely gray.
But from everything around him, lines and pathways of aura branched outward ..
Trajectories leading Frey toward countless outcomes, revealing things no one else could perceive.
Earlier, Amon’s flash strike had been perfectly visible to him.
Not only that .. it had appeared in slow motion.
He had seen its path clearly: where it came from, and where it would land.
He saw everything.
And by combining that vision with his teleportation ability, he had matched its speed and avoided it.
Frey didn’t fully understand the ability yet.
But he understood one thing.
He had just grasped hold of another lethal weapon.
The violet flames intensified violently, nearly swallowing Frey’s body whole ..
As though he were on the verge of becoming something else.
Something inhuman.
Without warning, Frey teleported instantly toward Amon, launching a ferocious barrage of strikes saturated with monstrous amounts of Black Hole Aura.
Amon retaliated immediately, unleashing his own series of flash strikes, each infused with dense dark aura.
Despite Amon’s terrifying speed, Frey responded perfectly … blocking and deflecting every single strike.
And it didn’t end there.
With each passing second, the violet flames grew stronger.
Then .. at the moment of culmination ..
Frey unleashed a blow carrying an overwhelming concentration of Black Hole Aura, forming a devastating beam that engulfed Amon and everything behind him.
The demon’s arm was severed completely.
Half of his body was scorched beyond recognition.
Yet Amon instantly grabbed the severed arm, reattaching it as he retreated at high speed.
Frey pursued him without hesitation.
Amon stopped retreating ..and counterattacked.
“Forgive me, Vessel… I underestimated you.”
Amon’s body flared violently as an immense pressure of aura exploded outward, causing everyone nearby to tremble.
This was his full power.
Amon attacked again with the same flash punch ..
And this time ..
His fist struck Frey cleanly, obliterating half of Frey’s chest and erasing it from existence.
Despite the catastrophic damage ..
Frey didn’t even blink.
“Even though I saw the attack coming… my body couldn’t respond fast enough to my eyes,”
Frey remained calm, analyzing the situation with cold precision.
The Void Eyes had allowed him to clearly see and predict Amon’s strike.
But his body had failed to keep up ..
And so he was hit.
“I need more power.”
Frey intensified the incineration of souls.
Then, with his free hand, he brushed over the destroyed side of his body ..
And it regenerated instantly, automatically.
At the same time, he unleashed another attack—far stronger—driven by violet flames and Black Hole Aura.
Amon answered with his own strike, his dark fist colliding with Frey’s sword.
“Vessel of Nameless… state your name.”
As their auras clashed and the earth trembled ..
Amon asked with a smile, acknowledging Frey as a worthy opponent.
Frey did not answer.
He continued his merciless assault, clear disgust etched across his face.
“What’s the point of giving my name to someone I intend to kill?”
Frey’s brutal reply landed alongside another wave of injuries inflicted upon Amon.
The demon burst into laughter, his aura output rising with every collision.
Meanwhile ..
Hearing Frey’s words, Gehrman finally understood.
This man didn’t intend merely to stall Amon.
He intended to kill him.
It was madness.
Yet Gehrman couldn’t deny that Frey possessed everything necessary to make it possible.
“Stacking six world-breaking abilities and synchronizing them… teleportation… absolute control over aura output…”
Frey Starlight’s power had surged dramatically after awakening the Fifth and Sixth Stages of Shadow Adaptation ..
Advanced stages designed specifically for combat.
The souls granted him immense power.
The Void Eyes allowed him to see paths so clearly that, if mastered, he would perceive the future in all its possibilities.
But attempting to kill Amon was a terrible idea.
The demon was still hiding his true ability.
“Frey! Don’t try to kill him—buying time is all you need to do!”
Gehrman sent his thoughts directly to Frey.
But Frey clearly didn’t like what he heard.
In the midst of battle, he turned toward Gehrman ..
A terrifying expression carved across his face as the Void Eyes glowed with a dark radiance.
“Gehrman… shut up and let me handle this.”
The violet flames swallowed Frey’s body completely.
His form twisted into something monstrous ..
Leaving both Gehrman and Abraham watching in silent dread.
For a moment ..
Frey looked more demonic than the demon himself.
