Chapter 248 – He discovered that he wasn’t as calm as he thought he would be (1)

Ruan Xia called Song Tingshen. He said he was already on his way.

The coworker next to her heard this and said enviously, “Your husband is coming to pick you up? Your relationship is really good.”

Ruan Xia put her phone back into her bag and smoothed her hair. She gently smiled and didn’t say anything.

She had seen through it now. Most people in the company didn’t know that Qin Yu was interested in her. Other than her direct manager, the HR manager that interviewed her, and the quick-minded receptionist, no one else knew. When she carefully thought about it, if everyone knew and was working together to put on this act with Qin Yu, it would be a weird version of The Truman Show.

It wasn’t that Ruan Xia didn’t like to sing. She just truly wasn’t in the mood. And so, she quietly sat off to the side. She didn’t drink any beverages, alcoholic or otherwise. She didn’t even eat any fruit. She sometimes questioned if she was suffering from the paranoia of persecution. For example, she was worried that Qin Yu had drugged…

Moreover, she wanted to go to the bathroom, but she endured it because she was scared that someone would stuff her in a sack if she left the group. And then, they would take her away, and she would have to act out an imprisonment scene with Qin Yu.

Ruan Xia inwardly sighed. Sure enough, this was the aftermath of reading too many novels. She felt she was in great danger even if there was nothing wrong with Qin Yu and he hadn’t done anything to her.

It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that Ruan Xia’s imagination had run wild. She had already thought about how to save herself after Qin Yu kidnapped her!

Although it wasn’t possible to see their expressions, it was possible to feel the intimacy between these two people from the short video.

Qin Yu repeatedly watched the video. Finally, he closed his eyes.

He discovered that he wasn’t as calm as he thought he would be.

He was originally sure that victory was within his grasp because he knew better than any outsider the real state of Ruan Xia and Song Tingshen’s marriage. He also knew that despite being married for several years, those two were like strangers. He also knew that after that one night several years ago, Ruan Xia and Song Tingshen hadn’t been intimate since then. And so, he had never been jealous of his wife’s ex-husband.

He believed that Ruan Xia and him were the ones that were truly suitable for each other. When he had opened his eyes and discovered that he had returned to several years ago, he was excited. He knew her past events and would be able to change it. Qin Yu had it all thought out. He would stop Ruan Xia from giving away her son this time.
