The Villainess Just Wants to Clear the Game
Chapter 124 - 51: Want to See Her Right Now
Chapter 124: Chapter 51: Want to See Her Right Now
That evening, a grand banquet was held in Servali City.
An army’s banquet was vastly different from those hosted by Nobles. There were no resplendent banquet halls, nor were there crowds of perfumed ladies and gentlemen clinking glasses. Instead, there were only brothers-in-arms who had fought side by side on the battlefield. Rather than delicate wine glasses, they clutched waterskins made of sheepskin.
Sitting around the bonfires with their arms draped over each other’s shoulders, they chatted about the fierce battle against the Demons that afternoon, boasting about how they had chopped off Demon heads with a single swing of their Knight’s Long Sword.
The Knights knew that eight out of ten words coming from their comrades’ mouths were pure exaggeration, but what did it matter?
Everyone was in high spirits today. The Lord had ordered that there would be plenty of meat and ale for all.
By the time the night ended, there probably wouldn’t be many left standing straight anyway. Who would even remember what was said?
Moreover, alongside Seville’s Knights, the reinforcements from Navia mingled amidst the celebrating crowds.
The warriors had already heard from their superiors that their Lord was on excellent terms with the Lord of Navia. Some had even seen the two of them entering the city hand in hand.
If it weren’t for the fact that the other Lord was a bit shorter than their Princess and clearly a girl, they would have suspected her to be the Princess’s fiancé.
After all, if they weren’t that close, why else would she travel thousands of miles just to save their Princess from disaster?
However, they generally kept such speculations to themselves. Princess Veronica had a good temper, but that didn’t mean her subordinates could gossip about her freely.
Compared to that, they were much more curious about something else...
"Just what kind of Magic did you use to defeat the Demons?"
Everywhere you looked, Navia’s Knights were surrounded by crowds, fielding the exact same question.
Everyone had witnessed the spectacle that afternoon. Before charging into the Demon frontlines, Navia’s Knights would typically toss out... some unknown objects.
After landing amidst the Demon horde, these objects would wait a moment before violently exploding. The sheer force was no less than Magic cast at full power by a Low-level Mage!
Furthermore, they had these objects in massive quantities. Every man carried several, and Navia’s Knights tossed them as casually as skipping stones.
At first, they guessed these were Magic Items specifically crafted by Navia’s Mages to deal with Demons.
But... didn’t crafting Magic Items cost money?!
Let alone Navia, not even Hillflan’s Imperial Cavalry Army would dare to be so wasteful!
Faced with these interrogations, Navia’s Knights—without any prior coordination—unanimously chose to dodge the question.
"It wasn’t actually Magic."
"Not Magic? Then it really is a special item? How is it made?"
"You can’t really call it a crafted item either..."
Navia’s Knights gave ambiguous answers while happily accepting the food and drink offered by their comrades.
Are you kidding?!
This was a secret weapon discovered by their Lord. How could they reveal it so easily?
As for whether their Lord would tell Princess Veronica...
That was her invention; they had no right to meddle in her affairs.
Just as Navia’s Knights were thoroughly enjoying the thrill of being the center of attention, another question rang out. "If it’s not a crafted item, then is it some sort of natural ore with special properties?"
The Knight’s heart skipped a beat. "Um... well... we’re not entirely sure ourselves, actually."
"Let’s talk about something else! Anything else!" the Knight laughed, trying his best to change the subject. "By the way, brother, what made you guess it was ore?"
"I went along to take a look when they were clearing the battlefield at dusk and found quite a bit of mineral residue. But since it was all blown to bits, there was no way to identify what it was with the naked eye."
"Oh..."
The Knight nodded, though he only half-understood.
Unlike Mages, most Knights didn’t care about such complicated matters.
All they needed to do was don their armor, take up their swords, and charge on horseback. At most, they would gather to discuss tactics. Very few proper Knights would bother analyzing battlefield debris to study Magic Items.
Out of curiosity, he turned to get a better look at the man.
Blonde hair, green eyes, and exceptionally handsome.
He was wearing a set of silver-white Light Armor, with subtle water-blue patterns engraved on the chest plate, arm guards, and knee pads.
Noticing the Knight’s gaze, the young man offered a gentle smile.
"Speaking of which, your Lord..." the young man began, "I just heard some people over there saying he is Princess Veronica’s fiancé?"
"No!" Such an outrageous rumor immediately roused the Knight’s urge to argue. "Our Lord is definitely not Princess Veronica’s fiancé! She’s a girl!"
"A girl?" The young man asked curiously. "But I heard that someone saw them walking hand in hand to the Lord Mansion..."
"That’s because they’re close!" The Knight huffed aggressively. "Besides, there’s nothing wrong with blood sisters holding hands! Those idle bastards gossip about every little thing they see all day long. If I find out who started this rumor, I’ll definitely challenge them to a proper duel!"
The young man smiled.
Waiting until the Knight had calmed down a bit, he continued asking, "Since she is Princess Veronica’s younger sister, it must be Princess Selena?"
"No." Having said this much, the Knight had no intention of hiding it. "It’s Princess Lilia."
"...Lilia?"
"First time hearing the name?"
"Yes. As far as I knew, Veronica didn’t seem to have a sister named Lilia..."
"Haha, then your information is outdated!" The Knight patted him on the shoulder. "It doesn’t matter if you haven’t heard of her. After today, that name will surely resound throughout all of Light! Just you wait and see!"
"However..." The Knight looked him up and down, a strange expression on his face. "I’ve been meaning to say... your outfit is very unique."
He had seen plenty of Seville’s Knights, and none of them dressed like this.
Could he be a high-ranking military officer? Or perhaps a member of Princess Veronica’s personal guard?
Whatever, it didn’t matter.
Since they were sitting together, they were brothers!
"By the way, brother, what’s your name? I’m Brandon, one of the first Knights recruited by Princess Lilia!"
The young man answered with a smile, "Lucian. Lucian Williams."
The Knight smacked his lips. "Lucian..."
The name sounded somewhat familiar. Where had he heard it before?
Before he could figure it out, Lucian bid farewell to his newly acquainted friend and walked toward the Lord Mansion, leaving the Knight staring after him in shock.
Veronica’s sister, Lilia Seville.
Asking around along the way, he had already heard many legendary tales about her from Navia’s Knights.
Now, it was time to meet her in person.
He was very interested... in that special ore.
