The Villainess Is My Cute Daughter
Chapter 446: Demon
"Is it okay if we can stay here?" she asked gently. After a second, she quickly added, "Temporarily, of course. Only for a few days."
Adrian nodded as he heard this.
The tribesmen simply nodded back without a care in the world.
The guard basically patted Adrian on the back really, really hard. It felt like a solid hammer blow, but Adrian show it.
"We family," the guard grinned. "Family stay together. Family go, but family always come back."
Adrian chuckled. "Yes. Family... family. We are family."
They all laughed loudly.
Adrian gently placed his hand on Aria’s head. "This is my daughter and her name is Aria."
The guard looked at Aria. He crouched down, grinned widely, and pointed a thick finger at her.
"You my daughter too!"
The corner of Aria’s lips twitched.
"No," Aria said coldly. "Only Papa is my Papa. No one else can be my Papa. I will bite you."
The tribesman just laughed heartily at the threat.
Adrian let out a wry chuckle. He couldn’t help but feel a weird, genuine sense of warmth in his heart at how simple these people were.
He looked at the guard. "Well, anyways. Should we pitch our own tent, or is there an empty place for us to stay?"
"You can sleep with the Chief’s hut," the guard said. "I will go talk."
Adrian nodded. "Yeah, sure. Ask him for us, please."
Before the guard could even take a single step towards the tribal chief’s house to ask for permission, Adrian heard a deep voice coming from directly behind him.
"There is no need to head over to my hut. I am right here."
The guard looked behind Adrian, and Adrian also turned around quickly.
The guard grinned. "Chief! This man is good man. This man is good exchange."
The leader of the tribe nodded. He chuckled and looked at Adrian.
"Yes, yes. Really good exchange indeed. Let’s exchange him for something else."
Adrian tenses up immediately, instinctively reaching toward his storage ring. But the guy just chuckled in response to his reaction.
"I am just joking. I have been waiting for you, Adrian."
Those words didn’t help one bit. Adrian just couldn’t help but get even tenser.
’This guy is... who the fuck is he?’ Adrian thought, his mind racing. ’He knows my name?’
The leader of the tribe waved his hand casually. "Hey man, come on. There is no need to be so afraid of me. I am literally the one who gave your daughter both of her blessings."
Adrian just stared at him in complete and utter shock.
The tribe’s leader continued speaking casually, completely ignoring the horrified expressions of everyone around Adrian.
"And the one who gave you your blessing was, in fact, my father. So let’s just say that our familial roots run pretty similarly."
Listening to this, the first one to speak was none other than Serena.
"Are you... a God?" she asked hesitantly, her voice really soft and trembling.
The tribesman just started laughing loudly.
"Well, let’s head over to my hut and we will talk privately. And yeah, you can sleep in my hut tonight if you want to. But I am pretty sure that there is no need for you to sleep in someone else’s house. There is no need to hide your powers here."
Adrian just nodded numbly.
He followed behind the tribal chief, feeling a lot of mixed emotions and slightly empty inside.
The chief of the tribe glanced behind him at Adrian.
"Why do you look so devastated? It is not like I am going to eat you."
"Can we talk?" Adrian asked quietly. "Just the two of us?"
The tribal chief shook his head. "Not at all. Not happening. Like I said, we will talk inside my hut."
Soon, all of them entered the massive mud hut. The space wasn’t exactly a palace, but it was spacious enough for everyone to comfortably sit down on the floor.
The tribal chief sat down on a woven mat, gesturing for them to do the same.
He looked at Adrian.
"Well, like I was about to say outside. Just because I am a Demon, it doesn’t mean that I am omnipotent or extremely strong. Those Angel guys that you are used to dealing with on your own continent use a completely different way to interfere and experience this world. We demons have our own unique ways. Of course, the world limits are pretty strong on us too. So there isn’t much that we can actually do here, but taking over this form does allow me to talk, experience life, and do a lot of small things."
Serena shifted uncomfortably. "If you are a demon, does that mean...?"
She turned to look nervously at Adrian and Aria.
Adrian nodded slowly. "Yeah. I have a demonic blessing."
He looked directly at the Chief.
"Let me ask you again. Can we please talk alone?"
The tribal chief just chuckled.
"Wow. You are so desperate to keep your secrets, aren’t you? But of course, I will allow it. But I have my own strict conditions, of course. You will not be truly alone."
He looked at the rest of the group.
"The wives, out. The two knights at the back, out. I want only the father and the daughter here."
Everyone looked at each other hesitantly. They glanced at Adrian before finally bowing and leaving the hut.
Adrian just gritted his teeth as the door closed. "What do you want from me?"
The Demon smiled calmly.
"Well, here is the thing. That Dragon that you know? You are pretty close to her. But there is a limit to what she actually knows. You are someone with a demonic blessing. We demons... well, not everyone of course, but me and my father specifically speaking, we know a lot about you guys. And from the looks of it, even though you have the capability to look into others’ blessings and curses through some method that I don’t really know about, you have stayed away from looking at your own daughter’s."
