The Villainess Is My Cute Daughter
Chapter 414: A New Mission
The inner zone was where all the nobles and rich people lived.
Unlike the Crestwall Empire where nobles were given different territories, military power, and the ability to independently rule as long as they answered to the emperor, this place was completely different. Ironhold followed a different set of rules. Nobility here was given based on how much a person donated to the royal family and the churches.
None of the nobles really had any military power. It was basically just a stamp of honor and they got access to certain high-end areas, they got access to the palace, and they were invited to meetings and fancy balls, but that was about it. The nobles of higher ranks were trusted more by the royal family, but they were basically just rich businessmen who threw money at the royals.
Lorcan continued walking. As he tried to walk past the heavily guarded gate of the inner zone, someone finally stopped him.
A guard took a step to the side and blocked Lorcan’s path.
Lorcan looked at him. "What? You have a problem with me?"
The guard looked hesitant for a second, and then he looked Lorcan up and down. This guy didn’t look much like nobility and he certainly didn’t look rich. He did have the air around him but the guard knew that a young man from a noble house wouldn’t be walking in public like this in military armor. So the guard stood his ground.
Seeing this, Lorcan let out a heavy sigh and took a step forward to stand right in front of him. He looked straight into the soldier’s eyes.
"Do you really wish to offend me right now? Or should I take this as you indirectly asking me for a bribe?"
The soldier faltered completely and took a step back.
"I just wanted to see your ID. Like a noble crest or something else."
Lorcan shook his head. "Why should I?"
The soldier hesitated again. "Well, there is just too much going on nowadays. These are the king’s orders."
The guy’s partner gave them a sideways glance and shook his head slightly.
Seeing this, Lorcan took a deep breath almost as if he was incredibly frustrated.
"Move aside, or no one will be able to find your body."
Hearing this threat, the second soldier stepped forward. "Please just show us your noble crest. If you are one, you should have one. If not, then scram. We do not need your money and we are not looking for bribes."
Lorcan just stared directly into this new guy’s eyes.
He held the eye contact for a single second. He just nodded and looked back at the first guard.
The second guard blinked and turned to his partner. "Okay, you can pass through."
The first guard looked utterly confused. One second his senior was telling this guy to scram if he didn’t have a crest, and the next second he was just telling him to pass through.
But what was he going to say to his senior? He just shut his mouth and made way.
Lorcan casually walked through the gates.
He ignored every single massive mansion nearby and went straight to the royal palace. He didn’t even bother hiding his presence. As he walked, it did not matter who was nearby. Whether it was a soldier, a servant, a maid, a butler, a nobleman, or even someone from the royal family. ℯℯ𝑙.
Every single one of them acted like they were not looking at him. Every single person miraculously got distracted and looked in a completely different direction right as he passed by.
Lorcan easily entered the palace and no one stopped him.
Almost thirty minutes later, he found the king in a small bedroom. It did not compare to the one Adrian had, which was already pretty small by royal standards. When compared to most of the wealthy nobles, this room was actually slightly smaller.
Lorcan just looked down at the king who was fast asleep. Right beside him were his wives. Two of them, in fact.
Looking at the sleeping trio, Lorcan just shook his head slightly.
He took out a dagger, walked over to the edge of the bed, and neatly sliced each and every one of their necks open.
They woke up instantly and struggled wildly, but none of them could make a single sound. It was almost as if their lips had been magically stitched together. Lorcan stood by the bed and watched with emotionless eyes as the three of them thrashed around for a few seconds before finally going completely still.
The expensive bed sheets were completely soaked with red.
Seeing that he had already succeeded with his mission, Lorcan walked over to the door and locked it from the inside. Then he took out the cubicle that was given to him by Adrian.
He placed it right next to the window, opened the wooden door, and walked straight through.
He found himself inside the dungeon and walked straight to the exit, only to find himself at the dungeon entrance which was in Oresfall. He headed straight to the mansion and entered through Adrian’s window, only to see Adrian opening the door and walking into his room.
Seeing Lorcan standing near the window, Adrian raised his eyebrow and closed the door behind him.
"You completed the mission already?" he asked, sounding a little surprised.
Lorcan nodded, "Yes, my lord. I killed the king and two of his queens."
Hearing this, Adrian nodded and walked towards Lorcan.
"Looks like this was pretty easy for you... I wanted to head over there myself and settle a few things, but I guess I can leave it to you. Do you think you’ll be able to lure all the family members of the royal family into one single room? Well... my goal was to put up a puppet king but now that I think about it, I guess it’s just better to kill them all. Yeah, you know what? Kill them all for me."
"As you wish, my lord."
