He looked at Adrian seriously, and Adrian nodded before going back to the wooden board.

The group made their order and waited.

Unfortunately for Adrian, the one who brought the food was none other than Cassius’s son.

He placed two huge plates on the table. The tall, lanky guy brought two other plates and another person followed behind them, carrying two huge pots filled with food and placing them in the center of the table.

Cassius’s son looked at everyone, then looked at Aria and raised his hand.

"The restaurant is giving an offer! A free dessert for the most beautiful girl that enters this restaurant. I’ll go bring it right now."

And before Adrian could say anything, he ran off.

Adrian just stared at the kid’s back as he sprinted away. He clenched his fist, took a deep breath, and exhaled slowly before loosening his grip.

He turned to look at Serena and Claire, only to see that both of them were chuckling.

Serena smirked.

"Are you afraid he’s gonna steal her from you?"

Adrian turned to look at Aria, who was busy looking at her own food. She had a huge spoon in her hand, transferring contents from one of the pots onto her plate.

He turned back to Serena.

"Well, not really. It’s just annoying to see people trying to get something that will never be theirs. Something they can never get."

He paused.

"There is no way she’ll be interested in a brat like that."

Aria, who obviously heard everything, smirked as she focused on her food.

Originally she wasn’t really interested in that kid. She had barely remembered who he was. But now, seeing her father be so protective, and so protective in a way that was restrictive too, she found it really nice.

Of course, not everyone would find it the same way. But to her, it was a really new feeling, and it was a feeling that she liked.

And the only thing she wanted to do right now was tease him.

She put a bunch of food into her mouth and thought to herself, ’I wonder how he’ll react if I... if I kiss him on the cheek.’

Her imagination immediately went to Adrian grabbing the kid and throwing him out of the fourth floor.

She shook her head.

’Okay, maybe kissing is a bit too much. Should I hold his hand? No, wait. Let’s test the waters by simply smiling at him.’ she htought and nodded to herself.

But luckily for Adrian, Aria decided to not mess around. Cassius’s son did bring her a small plate of fries, but he returned with a very noticeable small bump on his head. Adrian could easily imagine what went down in the kitchens since the chefs and everyone else worked according to strictly set rules. Adrian could tell that this plate of fries was basically being paid for out of the kid’s own pocket.

He shook his head inwardly and just let it happen.

Aria shared the fries with everyone. Adrian ordered a few more dishes along with the whole roast chicken that Aria wanted during lunch but didn’t get to eat back then, and once they were done, everyone left the place with their stomachs completely full.

As Adrian walked out of the restaurant, he could not help but notice a massive difference in the sky.

It was nighttime, but the sky was not exactly clear. The night sky in this world was usually mesmerizing. It was always filled to the brim with shimmering stars that he could actually see, unlike Earth where environmental pollution blocked the light.

But tonight the sky was filled with thick clouds.

Adrian just stared at the sky. Just when he thought that it might rain, he heard a loud boom of thunder.

He turned his head to look towards the direction of the sound. Not even a second later, there was another. He saw a streak of lightning hitting the place where the church was still being built, and then there was another massive boom.

It happened one more time. Adrian started walking over to the construction site.

On his way there, he saw a person floating high up in the sky. It was pretty similar to how Gabriel was floating in the sky when they fought.

Just as he was wondering what the hell was going on, a voice boomed all across the town.

"My beloved, blessed."

Hearing this, Adrian stiffened up immediately.

The voice was pretty much the exact same as the Dragon of Prosperity, which only meant one thing. She had possessed the body of whoever was floating high up in the sky right now.

He frowned as he looked up at the person, ’Would this not bring her some trouble?’

There was no way for him to know that and as he was busy with his own thoughts, the possessed person continued speaking.

"The answers that you seek, they will come to you soon."

Then the clouds parted. It gave everyone a perfect view of the beautiful night sky, and the person floating high up slowly came down graciously.

While Adrian was busy with his own town and spending his holidays, things were brewing in other places.

Inside the Ironhold Kingdom, a man looked up at his king.

"Your Highness," Bishop Kael said. "We have been praying to the goddess every single day, multiple times a day. But it feels different now. Before we used to feel a sense of happiness and bliss. We got the reassurance that the goddess was smiling upon us and protecting us from evil. But now we only feel emptiness, sadness, and anger. Some have even gotten so irritated that they lost their minds. They have gone crazy and I see no way for them to recover..."

King Aldric looked at the bishop and nodded slowly.

"I have experienced similar things."

Bishop Kael nodded. He knew how much of a devotee Aldric was. This man had his own massive prayer room inside the palace that was no smaller than a church. Kael could easily see the signs on Aldric’s face.
