Chapter 394: Daddy~

"Does that mean that I should start calling you two Mama now?" Aria asked innocently.

Adrian immediately chuckled at the blunt question.

Meanwhile, Claire and Serena both smiled really widely. They looked almost incredibly prideful about the title, their cheeks flushing a faint pink.

Serena was the first one to recover and speak.

"Only if you’re actually comfortable with calling us that," Serena said gently. "And only if you really want to."

Aria grinned widely.

"Well then, Mama," Aria announced happily.

But then she suddenly stopped smiling. She immediately went into a deep, highly contemplative state. She scrunched up her small face like she was trying to solve a massive problem.

"But wait," Aria mumbled. "If I call you Mama, then I should call this Claire Mama too. But I can’t just call you both Mama. That’s confusing."

It was a very dumb, childish predicament, at least in Adrian’s eyes. But he found it extremely cute.

He looked over at the two girls walking beside him.

"So what do you plan on calling them then?" Adrian asked her. "Mama Claire or Mama Serena?"

Aria scrunched up her face even more as she thought deeper about the naming issue.

Finally, her face cleared up.

"Yeah, Mama Claire and Mama Serena is good," Aria decided.

She nodded her head multiple times in rapid succession to confirm her own genius logic.

She suddenly raised her hand high up into the air. She pumped her small fist up toward the sky and yelled at the top of her lungs.

"Let’s go buy food! A lot of food!"

"And a lot of clothes," Claire added quickly.

"A lot of food, a lot of clothes, and let’s explore a lot too," Serena chimed in. "It’s been a while since we actually just walked around and explored Oresfall, after all. The city has changed quite a lot."

Serena looked over at Adrian with a teasing smile.

"Thanks to..." Serena started slowly, dragging the words out a little. "I guess thanks to the Emperor."

She said it really slowly, heavily stressing the word ’Emperor’ just to mess with him.

"Emperor Adrian," Serena said with a giggle.

Adrian’s cheeks instantly went a slight shade of pink. He felt a sudden, massive wave of embarrassment hit him.

"Yeah, yeah. Stop that. Stop that right now," Adrian grumbled. "Just call me Adrian like you normally do. Hearing you call me that feels incredibly weird all of a sudden."

Claire laughed.

"What do you mean weird?" Claire asked. "Before all of this happened today, we always used to formally call you Lord Adrian. So having a title wasn’t weird for you back then, was it?"

"Well, it was actually pretty weird at the very start when I first got here," Adrian admitted. "But I kind of just got used to it over time."

"Well, get used to this new title too then," Claire shot back playfully. "Or do you want us to start calling you something else?"

Adrian raised an eyebrow.

"What do you mean something else?" Adrian asked.

Right at that exact time, as Adrian was looking over at Claire, Serena leaned in close to his other ear.

"Maybe something like... Daddy Adrian~?" Serena whispered softly.

Adrian almost jumped when he heard that.

He flinched so hard he almost dropped Aria off his shoulders. He just stopped walking and stared at Serena like he had just seen a literal ghost standing in front of him.

He opened his mouth, completely unable to form a coherent sentence.

"You!" Adrian stammered, his brain entirely short-circuiting. "What do you... wait, what did you just call me?"

Seeing him react with such absolute, wide-eyed panic, Claire literally laughed out loud. It was a loud, completely hysterical laugh.

"Ha ha ha ha haaa! Oh my God!" Claire wheezed, holding her ribs. "Just what the hell did you whisper to him?"

Aria was just as confused as Claire. She looked down at Adrian’s frozen face.

"What did she say?" Aria asked.

She looked over at Serena. "What did you say to Papa to make him look like that?"

Serena just smiled innocently.

"Well, I just asked him who his favorite is," Serena lied smoothly.

She said it really slowly, word by word, as she kept her teasing eyes locked directly on Adrian’s pale face.

Adrian just stared at her. He was still completely shocked by what she had just called him. He had no idea how a sheltered noble girl from a fantasy world even came across that specific, highly contextual slang that was exclusively used on Earth.

It immediately reminded him of the very first time he arrived in this world. It reminded him of the first few days when the system originally showed itself to him and presented his skills. The incredibly annoying way the system kept using the word ’Daddy’ in his skill names.

Adrian had eventually gotten used to seeing that specific word on his status screen. He had slowly convinced himself over time that it was just him overreacting to modern slang because he was someone from Earth. He assumed the system just picked a generic translation for ’Father’.

But seeing Serena literally use it out loud in such a quiet, intimate way, with such obvious, teasing insinuation... that was extremely hard to ignore.

He really did not know what to say. He only had one single, terrified thought racing through his mind.

’Is this actually a known, sexual slang thing in this fantasy world too?’ Adrian panicked internally. ’Or did someone from Earth actually tell her to say this to mess with me? Wang Lei? Or maybe that kid Leo?’

Claire stopped laughing and wiped a tear from her eye.

"Is this true?" Claire asked Serena. "Did you actually call him the thing that we were talking about earlier?"

Serena basically smirked.

"Well, I mean, yeah," Serena admitted shamelessly. "Why should only our cute little Aria get to call him that, you know?"

Aria gasped. It was almost like a massive, invisible light bulb suddenly turned on inside her head.

"Hey! Did you call him Daddy?" Aria asked excitedly. "I want to start calling him Daddy too!"
