Chapter 250: Chapter 250: Big Cat and Anan 3
"The ancient tree that Jiuyao loved as a child grows twin fruits at its peak during a full moon. Eating them increases the chance of conception."
The White Tiger Elder stroked his beard, giving Su An’an a meaningful look.
"Silence!"
Ying Jiuyao’s tail cracked a bluestone slab by his feet with a WHIP. The soft fur behind his ears bristled. "Don’t talk nonsense."
"Lord Jiuyao, you and the Divine Female..."
Before the elder could finish, Ying Jiuyao cut him off. "It’s getting late. You should go and rest."
He shot him a dark look, his tail whipping back and forth.
"Then I won’t disturb you two any longer."
The elder tactfully took his leave.
Su An’an reached out to stroke Ying Jiuyao’s tense back and chuckled softly.
"You know, I’m quite interested in that ancient tree the elder mentioned!"
"Then... shall I take you there to see it?"
Ying Jiuyao turned in pleasant surprise, the tips of his ears turning so red they looked like they were on fire.
Su An’an looked up into his starlit golden eyes, then suddenly stood on her tiptoes and kissed his chin. "Okay!"
The ancient tree’s shadow spilled across the ground. Claw marks of varying depths crisscrossed the trunk, gleaming a cold white in the moonlight.
The deepest, most jagged scar still had a speck of old, dried blood crusted on its edge.
It was left by a cub who couldn’t control his strength while teething and had embedded half a tiger tooth in the wood.
Just as Su An’an’s fingertips touched the scar, her wrist was suddenly seized.
Ying Jiuyao’s fingertips were shockingly hot, but a flash of pain crossed his Gilded Beast Eyes.
"When I was ten, I was in this tree counting the nine hundred and twenty-first day when my father’s patrol returned... with his body."
His Adam’s apple bobbed, his voice trembling slightly at the end.
"My father went berserk after his spiritual power collapsed..."
Su An’an’s heart ached as she looked at the Big Cat’s bloodshot beast eyes.
She reached out, wanting to touch the tuft of soft fur behind his ear that was bristling intensely.
"Don’t touch me!"
The Big Cat pulled Su An’an into his arms, his tiger claws gripping the nape of her neck so tightly it felt like he wanted to crush her into his very bones.
"I’m going to touch you." Su An’an’s fingers slipped into his hair, precisely finding that tuft of fur and gently rubbing it.
"Your father was a great man. And so are you!"
Ying Jiuyao’s breathing suddenly grew heavy.
Her palm rested against the side of his neck, its warmth carrying a faint, creamy scent that made his eyes burn.
The beast-skin dolls in the corner of the treehouse were covered in a layer of dust.
As a child, he would always hug them while waiting for his father. But now, the person in his arms was warmer than the sun.
"The standard version of the Blood Frenzy Pill is already in mass production."
Su An’an tilted her head up, her nose brushing against his trembling tiger stripes.
"I promise, your clansmen, and our baby, will never have to go through this again."
The moment she finished speaking, a sweet fragrance suddenly drifted in.
It wasn’t the crisp scent of a Spirit Fruit, but a cloying sweetness with a milky undertone that seeped through the window cracks, making one’s heart itch with longing.
The twin fruits at the treetop were ripe.
Ying Jiuyao lowered his head abruptly, his Gilded Beast Eyes churning with a storm of complex emotions. The tip of his tail coiled around her waist, tightening its grip.
Su An’an was pressed tightly against him, able to brush her nose against his Adam’s apple just by tilting her head up.
The Big Cat asked in a hoarse voice, "You just said... our baby?"
A twin fruit from the treetop fell with a PLOP, landing on the windowsill.
The sound of its sweet juice splashing was exceptionally clear in the silence.
Su An’an suddenly smiled, reaching back to press her hand over his, which was clasped around her waist.
Using the moonlight, she leaned close to his ear, her tongue lightly licking the tip of his tiger ear.
"That’s right. A twin fruit has fallen. Aren’t you going to hurry up and eat it so we can continue what we haven’t finished?"
Ying Jiuyao’s ears shot straight up.
He snatched up the twin fruit, wiped it roughly on his sleeve, and held it to Su An’an’s lips. "Eat!"
"Together!"
Leaning into his hand, Su An’an gently bit through the fruit’s skin. A milky aroma mixed with a honeyed sweetness exploded on her tongue.
Ying Jiuyao’s Adam’s apple bobbed, his golden eyes frighteningly bright.
He swept Su An’an into his arms and pressed her down onto a soft couch covered with beast pelts.
His tiger claws tore open the front of his own robe, revealing a chest covered in golden markings.
He lowered his head and captured her lips, tasting the sweetness of the twin fruit together.
"So hot..."
Su An’an’s breathing grew ragged under Ying Jiuyao’s kiss.
The sweet fragrance of the twin fruit melted between their lips and teeth, turning into a warm current that sank into her lower abdomen.
The Divine Pattern on the small of her back began to glow softly, intertwining with the silver patterns that coiled around his body.
It bloomed into a hazy, rose-gold light under the moon.
Ying Jiuyao’s fangs pressed against her shoulder. "Bite me if it hurts."
"Who wants to bite you?"
She chuckled, but her fingertips dug into the taut muscles of his back.
"Why are you trembling? Can the great White Tiger Clan Leader not handle a simple fusion of Spiritual Power?"
A low growl rumbled in his throat. His golden eyes burned in the darkness as he lowered his head and sealed her breath once more.
The wooden beams of the treehouse suddenly trembled. The entire forest began to move without a wind, its leaves rustling as if to witness this resonance of bloodlines.
Their blended Spiritual Power silently coalesced in Su An’an’s abdomen, forming the phantom image of a curled-up tiger cub.
Its pale gold fur had not yet fully grown in, but it was already instinctively hugging its tail, purring softly in the warm darkness.
The White Tiger bloodline was dominant and difficult to pass on.
But at this moment, a tiny life was growing, defying all logic.
When their passion subsided, they lay embraced on the bed of beast pelts.
Su An’an’s fingertips traced the tiger stripes on Ying Jiuyao’s neck that had yet to fade completely. She suddenly let out a soft laugh.
"I wonder if trying so hard will actually get me pregnant."
Ying Jiuyao pulled her tighter into his embrace, his palm resting on her flat stomach.
"White Tiger offspring have always been difficult to conceive. It takes at least three months to sense anything."
He paused, an imperceptible flicker of nervousness in his golden eyes. "But your Divine Light can stabilize the bloodline, so maybe..."
"Maybe it’ll take even longer?"
Su An’an deliberately poked his tense abs, which were still sore from his earlier exertion.
"Then we’ll just have to eat a few more twin fruits and try a few more times."
Ying Jiuyao rolled over on top of Su An’an, their noses touching as his tiger claws gently pinched her cheek.
He grazed his fangs against her earlobe, his voice low and husky with a wheedling tone. "Alright?"
"Scoundrel."
Su An’an laughed and tried to push him away, but he caught her wrists and pinned them above her head.
As if they understood something, the last two ripe twin fruits on the treetop fell with a PLOP onto the windowsill, their sweet juice splashing.
Ying Jiuyao picked up the fruits. The night was still very, very long...
Morning light had just begun to creep over the treehouse windowsill when Su An’an suddenly covered her mouth and rushed into the washroom.
"BLECH!"
She braced herself against the washbasin, her stomach churning violently.
All the cloying sweetness of last night’s twin fruits had turned to sour bile.
Wisps of hair at her temples were damp with cold sweat, sticking to her pale cheeks.
"BANG!"
The wooden door was thrown open, and Ying Jiuyao practically teleported behind her, his tiger claws patting her back nervously.
"Could the fruit have been poisonous?!"
He patted her so hard she almost fell into the basin. She grabbed his wrist. "Gently! Are you trying to help the pregnancy or commit murder?"
Ying Jiuyao’s tail went rigid, his golden eyes widening.
"Help the pregnancy?"
Right on cue, the Divine Contract on her wrist lit up.
The pink light swirled and coalesced into the phantom of a small, curled-up white tiger cub, which was hugging its tail and purring.
