Chapter 238: Chapter 238: Charming Fei Zhao 3

Su An’an looked into Fei Zhao’s sparkling red eyes and finally relented:

"Just this once."

"As you command, my Princess."

Fei Zhao chuckled, his tail sweeping lightly across the ground as he turned to get the matching dress.

It was a simple white dress in a youthful style, with a pale crimson ribbon tied loosely around the waist, accentuating her slender figure.

The pair of butterfly bows were pinned in her hair, trembling slightly as she turned her head and catching the sunlight with a soft sheen.

"This is too much."

She reached up to take them off, but Fei Zhao caught her wrist.

"Don’t move."

His voice was suddenly deep and husky. His fingertips brushed against the soft fuzz on her ear. "It suits you."

Su An’an looked up and met his dark, intense gaze.

Those fox eyes, usually filled with laughter, were now shockingly intense. His pupils had narrowed into slight slits, like a predator locking onto its Prey.

Before she could even speak, Fei Zhao leaned in and kissed her.

"Wait, the mission isn’t— Mmph!"

Little Pink silently blocked the camera feed.

"I can’t see anything, I can’t see anything."

When Su An’an finally pushed Fei Zhao away, gasping for breath, her lips were red and swollen, and the butterfly bows in her hair were crooked.

"We should get going!"

She tried to sound authoritative, but her flushed cheeks and messy hair made the statement completely unconvincing.

Fei Zhao leisurely straightened her hair ornaments, his fingertips brushing faintly against her earlobe. "What’s the rush?"

He chuckled, the tip of his tail lightly sweeping across the back of her hand. "The night market in the Qingshi Tribe has only just begun."

Su An’an suddenly realized something and raised an eyebrow at him. "You planned this all along, didn’t you?"

"M-hm!"

Fei Zhao’s tail fanned out behind him in delight. "They’re on high alert during the day, but the night market..."

He leaned in and whispered in her ear, his breath carrying the fresh scent of grass and trees, "...is the perfect breeding ground for rumors."

Little Pink’s virtual hand suddenly popped out of the smart device.

"But Master, you’re too conspicuous like this! Should we add a disguise?"

Fei Zhao narrowed his eyes, the tip of his tail shooting up warily. "What are you trying to say?"

"For example..."

The moment Little Pink finished speaking, it suddenly sprayed a cloud of pink smoke that enveloped Su An’an. "Like this!"

After the smoke cleared, Su An’an reached up to touch her hair, shocked to find it had turned a light cherry blossom pink.

Her cheeks had become rounder with a touch of baby fat, and a small beauty mark had appeared at the corner of her eye, glistening under the light.

Even Queen Jelena wouldn’t recognize her if she were standing right in front of her.

Fei Zhao’s breath hitched, the tips of his ears quietly turned red, and his tail tensed unconsciously.

"I don’t think we’ll be getting much investigating done tonight," he said in a hoarse voice. His fingertips carefully avoided her cheek, tugging at the hem of her skirt instead. "You’re too eye-catching."

Su An’an looked at herself in the mirror and sighed helplessly.

"Is it too late to change back now?"

"Too late!"

Little Pink chirped, spinning smugly. "This version is waterproof and sweatproof. It’ll last until dawn tomorrow!"

Fei Zhao let out a low laugh, took her by the wrist, his palm warm. "Let’s go!"

The Qingshi Tribe’s night market was brightly lit, and the air was filled with the aroma of roasted meat and the sweet smell of fruit wine.

Rows of animal-hide tents set up by vendors stood one after another.

Hanging lanterns swayed gently in the night breeze, enveloping the entire market in a warm, orange glow.

Su An’an linked her arm with Fei Zhao’s, deliberately mimicking the posture of a young female fox as she timidly surveyed her surroundings.

Her disguise was extremely successful.

Her fluffy pink fox ears twitched with every step, and the beauty mark at the corner of her eye was faintly visible in the light, making her look exactly like a naive, orphaned girl who had yet to see the world.

Fei Zhao, on the other hand, was completely transformed.

With black hair, black eyes, and thick, black-rimmed glasses, he had even deliberately dulled the sheen of his tail. He looked just like an honest, simple, and taciturn ordinary male beast.

"You poor child, take this!"

An old female fox with a graying mane stuffed a handful of candied fruit into Su An’an’s hand, her wrinkled face full of pity.

"You’re so skinny, you need to eat more."

"Thank you, ma’am."

Su An’an lowered her head obediently, her voice barely a whisper.

The stall owner selling herbs next to them, the Black Fox Lady, leaned in and whispered mysteriously:

"Listen, girl, if your cubs aren’t healthy in the future, remember to get medicine from the sanatorium in the East District."

"My daughter took their medicine last time, and her cub is so strong now."

Su An’an and Fei Zhao quickly exchanged a look.

Fei Zhao immediately put on a worried expression, wringing his hands and stammering:

"R-Really? My Female Master has been worried about that."

"Oh, is this your Beast Husband?"

The Black Fox Lady looked Fei Zhao up and down, not bothering to hide the disdain in her eyes. "He doesn’t look too bright."

Su An’an quickly clung to Fei Zhao’s arm, her eyes welling up with tears.

"Please don’t say that. My fertility test was only F Level. I’m so lucky he’s stayed by my side."

Fei Zhao gently patted Su An’an’s arm, looking at her with deep affection.

At these words, the surrounding old females suddenly saw Fei Zhao in a new light.

"What a good boy!"

The white-haired old woman gave Fei Zhao a thumbs-up. "There aren’t many male beasts like him these days. A real man takes responsibility!"

"That’s right!"

Another old female selling Star Fruit sighed with emotion.

"It’s all thanks to Her Highness the Crown Princess’s recent efforts to develop programs protecting Wasted Females."

"It’s how old bones like us can support ourselves with our own hands."

The Black Fox Lady hesitated for a moment before stepping forward and lowering her voice again.

"The sanatorium in the East District was also approved by the Crown Princess."

"My daughter took their medicine last time, and her cub is so strong now."

Su An’an’s pupils constricted.

’When did I ever approve that?’

Fei Zhao gently squeezed her palm and immediately feigned surprise.

"Really? Can we go take a look now?"

"Of course. It’s open 24 hours."

The Black Fox Lady patted her chest. "It’s right at the east end of the market, the building with the white walls and red roof. The Priests inside are ever so helpful!"

The two thanked her and headed toward the East District.

The sanatorium was cleaner than they had imagined. Vines crawled up the snow-white walls, and the inside was lit as brightly as day.

Two smiling female Priests stood at the entrance.

"Welcome."

The older one came forward. "Are you here for a fertility consultation?"

Su An’an nodded timidly.

The Priest enthusiastically led them on a tour of the pharmacy, explaining the various tonics in detail.

Fei Zhao pretended to casually ask about the source of the medicinal ingredients, but the answers he received were flawless.

"Looks like this was a wasted trip," Fei Zhao said in a low voice as they walked out of the sanatorium.

Just then, Little Pink suddenly vibrated on Su An’an’s wrist. "Your Highness, there’s movement in the backyard!"

The two of them immediately circled around to the back of the building. By the pale moonlight, they saw a slender figure staggering forward.

It was a young Priest in a green robe, tightly clutching an unconscious cub.

A blood-soaked bandage was wrapped around the cub’s thin wrist, glowing a strange, dark red in the moonlight.

Su An’an’s nails instantly dug into Fei Zhao’s arm, leaving several red marks. "Follow them..."
