Within a deep, dark room where countless treasures were stored aboard the ship of the Fourteenth Fleet, something stirred within the darkness.

A deep black cloak suddenly rose from a nearby table, floating within the dark room, its edges fluttering despite there being no wind.

It floated in circles as if scanning the entire room at once before rubbing its edges together like some greedy merchant rubbing his hands.

It was a habit it had picked up from its mean master.

It was slightly angry at how its master had assigned such a difficult task upon its delicate and beautiful self.

But at the same time, all of that anger vanished the moment it saw all kinds of treasures lying around it.

How could it even stay angry with all these treasures lying around without any owners?

Its edges spread wide as it floated around the room, devouring every single treasure, herb and potion within the treasury.

It wasn’t as if it cared about its mean master or anything but just thinking about his reaction once it appeared before him with all these treasures...

Its master would definitely be surprised.

It wasn’t like it wanted to be praised or anything either but it definitely wouldn’t mind those soft pats from its master.

Only once all the treasures within the dark room had vanished into its spatial storage did it finally stop and look toward the few glowing cards belonging to its master that were lying nearby.

According to its master’s instructions, it was supposed to wait until the cards started glowing and once they did, its master would summon it.

So it patiently waited.

Many hours passed before the cards finally began to glow.

Immediately, it felt the familiar pull of its master’s summon.

The next moment, it appeared within a dimly lit cellar.

Its master was tied up alongside the lady.

"They didn’t do anything weird to you, did they?"

It wasn’t as if it was relieved to see its master okay or anything. Nor did it feel happy because of its master’s concern. Still, it immediately fluttered toward him and strapped itself onto his back while casually informing him about just how many treasures it had brought back.

Its master was definitely surprised.

"Ohhh, I didn’t expect them to put you together with the treasures." Its master praised it. "But good job getting all those treasures."

It definitely didn’t feel proud or anything.

But somehow, its edges started fluttering.

It was definitely because of the wind in this completely closed cell.

[Rael’s POV]

Looking at my cloak in perfect condition, a smile appeared on my face. Not to mention the good news my dear cloak had just given me.

It had looted hundreds of treasures from the storage area of the spaceship.

Tsk.

I definitely shouldn’t call it traitorous anymore.

I was just about to think of a sweet name for it when it suddenly slapped me across the cheek.

"What was that for?"

I snapped at it, only for the cloak to point one of its edges toward my face. Being soul-bonded, I could understand what it meant.

It was saying that I was grinning creepily.

"..."

Yeah, fuck you too.

You are a traitorous bastard.

Deciding to think about this betrayal later, I summoned my flames. Brilliant red flames appeared within my hands, dancing with joy while sending little flickers toward the cloak.

The cloak fluttered back at them in a way that somehow felt like it was mocking the flames.

I didn’t care about their friendly rivalry and ordered the flames to burn through the mana-suppressing chains around me.

Not that those chains had much use against me anyway.

I sent some of the flames toward Arza as well, burning through her mana-suppressing chains and immediately in response—

BOOM!

All the Moon Cards I had allowed the pirates to take with them exploded at once. A series of loud blasts shook the entire spacecraft.

I could hear the commotion outside as pirates shouted and rushed toward the place where the explosion had occurred.

Even the two guards standing outside the jail area ran out without hesitation.

My smile widened.

The Spandal, Pandelion, looked at me in surprise.

"How can you use mana here? And what was that explosion?" He whispered. His eyes widened before he hurriedly continued, "Are you planning to escape? If so, please, I beg you—take me with you."

"And why should I do that?"

"I can guide you. Rockwave only has one entrance and one exit and both of them are controlled by pirates." Pandelion continued in the same hushed tone. "So even if you escape this ship, you’ll never escape Rockwave."

He leaned closer to the bars.

"But I can guide you. I can help you hide."

Well, that was indeed a good argument.

"Arza, release him."

I didn’t even look at Pandelion.

Instead, I turned toward the wall behind me and summoned my Cards of Arcana. The cards appeared around me before shooting toward the edges of the wall, slipping into every crack they could find.

Behind me, Arza had already walked toward Pandelion’s cell with a single swing of her soul-bound scythe which appeared out of thin air,

Clang!

She severed the chains binding the panda.

Right on cue, I gave the order and every single card buried within the wall began to glow.

"Arza, Pandelion, grab onto me."

With those words, I ordered all of my cards to explode.

BOOM!

Without even a moment of delay, an even greater explosion shook the spaceship.

The metallic side of the spacecraft was blown apart as the force of the blast tore through the wall and the rushing wind immediately dragged us toward the opening.

Arza grabbed onto one of my arms while Pandelion desperately clung to the other.

Then, before any of us could even steady ourselves, the wind swept all three of us out of the spacecraft.

The wind felt strangely refreshing as we fell through the sky and into the atmosphere of my first-ever alien planet.

Thankfully, despite being a panda, Pandelion had been starved for so many days that his weight was almost nothing.

Although I couldn’t float through the sky using my mana, my cloak could definitely help us land without getting squished into pulp.

At least, that was what I thought.

As those thoughts swirled through my mind, my eyes finally wandered toward the direction we were falling and immediately, they widened.

"What the fuck is this shit?"
