The Urban Dao Child.

Yang Dao and Dao Yin were controlling the void entity by instilling it with the components of the Great Dao. The four generals were standing by to transfer their energy to the couple if they need it.

Dao Yin said, “Now, lend us the energy.”

Feng Yun and the rest reacted quickly, they channeled their energy, and Yang Dao and Dao Yin began to tighten their grasp around the void envoy. The young man said, “Almost.”

Dao Yin nodded and increased the input when the void envoy said, “You two have always been invincible if you are together, however, what if one of you was separated? What will happen then? The incomplete Dao will destroy the balance and then everything else. Hahahaha…”

This cold laughter gave everyone a bad premonition, however, before they could react they saw a giant wheel suspended above the head of the void envoy. Atsuji Kurogame said, “Masters, be careful, that wheel above him is called Samara Wheel. It can entrap the soul of a target inside a realm where you will live three hundred times, and die each time.

The only way to get out of this attack is to remember what you are, and only then can you break through the illusions.”

Dao Yin asked, “Well, how much time do we have to get out of this thing?”

Atsuji Kurogame said, “Each turn is equivalent to one life you live inside the illusion. The speed of the turns is not uniform, it depends on how your life is inside. You have three hundred lives, that is all I can tell.”

Yang Dao wanted to ask something when the void envoy said, “Time is eternal, just like the void. Time consumes it all just like the void. Goodbye.”

The wheel suspended above the head of the void envoy shook and generated a shockwave of colored particles. Looking at it, Yang Dao could tell that it was an attack, they could not react and give up all the effort they have put in earlier.

Yang Dao said, “You guys take command till we find a way out of this, do not let this thing get its way.”

“YES, MASTER.”, the four shouted loudly as the colored ray covered the two people at the same time.

Zen sighed and said, “The battle is finally beginning.”

Athena asked, “Master, what do you mean?”

Zen said, “Among the eight laws of Dao, Time is the most delicate and deepest. Even master Atsuji does not dare to touch it unless it is extremely necessary, and he is the wielder of the space and time laws. Yang Dao appeared in a market filled with people, all sorts of hawkers and vendors could be seen here. He looked around and found Yin standing in front of a stall. He walked over and was about to talk when the noticed something. Yin was looking at him, yet she did not react at all.

To confirm his doubts, he walked over and asked, “Excuse me, can you tell me where is this place?”

Dao Yin was surprised, then she chuckled and said, “Do you not you where this place is?”

Yang Dao shook his head, and said, “I fell on the ground when I was a child, every few hours I forget a few things, the doctor said that my brain was deformed slightly.”

Dao Yin covered her mouth with her hand and said, “Oh, I am sorry.”

The young man smiled and waved his hand to tell her that it did not matter. Dao Yin said, “This is the town of dreams.”

Yang Dao mumbled the same thing and bowed to the girl. Dao Yin asked, “Where are you heading to? Shall I help you?”

Yang Dao smiled and asked in a low voice, “I have no place, ever since I have become older, my parents told me to not bring them misfortune and asked me to leave, however, now I have even forgotten the name of my home.”

Dao Yin’s eyes displayed a tinge of sadness. She said, “I do not know, but it feels as if I know you.”

Yang Dao shrugged his shoulder and said, “Maybe you do or maybe you do not. It could be that you know me from life other than this.”

Dao Yin was surprised by this statement and she did not know how to reply to the boy. Yang Dao was not the young man that he was outside, he was back to his teenager and so was Dao Yin. Suddenly a mature middle-aged man walked over and asked, “Yin, what are you doing out in the market alone?”

Although his voice was stern, the dotting smile on his face said it all. Dao Yin stuck out her tongue and said, “Father, you do not allow me to come out so, I sneaked out, also, everyone in our town is so nice, how can they harm me.”

The man chuckled and petted Dao Yin on her head. Then his gaze landed on Yang Dao and he asked, “And who might you be?”

Yang Dao bowed his head and said, “I am just a forgetful traveler sir, my name is Yang Dao. That is all I remember at the moment.”

The man frowned and asked, “What do you mean, that is all that you remember.”

Before Yang Dao could reply, Dao Yin jumped in and said, “Father, he cannot remember much and forgets something daily. He says he was hurt in his head as a child.”

The man frowned even more and said, “I do not know if I have heard of such an illness. It will be difficult to find your parents.”

Yang Dao shrugged and said, “You do not have to bother sir, my parents abandoned me, I know and recall that much. I do not know the face of my father and mother anymore. Not like they wanted defective goods.”

The man frowned and asked, “Where do you plan to live?”

Yang Dao shook his head again, saying that he does not know where he will spend the night. Dao Yin said, “Father, can we take him along, if you cannot find his parents, then he can work at the mansion.”

The middle-aged man smiled at the little girl and then the group moved through the market and soon they came away from the market. On the way, the middle-aged man told Yang Dao a lot of things and introduced him to the city palace, where he was living in style.

Yang Dao was given a small store room, he was not carrying luggage on him, with that he laid down on the bed and began to ponder over the questions in his mind.

He thought, ‘Why do I have memories intact while Yin does not? We entered this place almost the same time.’

He was confused about these things, however, suddenly, it came to him, almost. Yang Dao said, ‘The time flow was different for both of us, that was why she does not have any memories. It could be that she has been inside for a long time and the effects of time corroded her memories.’

He took a deep breath and thought, ‘The void envoy said, Time is eternal and it consumes everything. So, the first thing it consumes is your memories, and then it consumes yourself.’

That fact established, the boy decided to think about how to get out of here, he needed to remind Yin as well, she cannot leave here without her memories, and even more, he cannot get out without her.

If the boy and the girl were not together, their strengths will reduce to half, and the void envoy outside will be able to get away and win the war.

Yang Dao sat up on the bed and decided to go outside and take a walk. He came out of the room to calm down and think with ease. The process of making Dao Yin remember everything will not be easy, he will need to do something that triggers her memory and for that, he needed to stage a drama.

While doing so, he also needed to make sure that the effects of time do not consume his memories. Everything that he needed to do, it was needed to be done fast and smoothly, or things will end up pretty bad.

As he was moving in the garden he lost track of time and waited for the sun to come up. Life in this town seemed to start very early, and the middle-aged man appeared in the garden holding a wooden sword.

He saw Yang Dao and asked, “Huh, did you not sleep? Why are you outside at this hour?”

Yang Dao shook his head and bowed to the man, he said, “I was thinking about something. Lost track of time.”
