The Unveiling of Secret Queen
Chapter 2380: Lynn Kingsley: I Said Let Her Go!
She really hadn’t expected the Kingsleys Family’s people to react this fast; someone actually caught on and was heading straight for her.
Now it was much harder to leave.
She took a smoke bomb out of her single shoulder bag and held it in her hand, her expression turning cold, then pulled up the hood of her hoodie, trying her best to hide her figure.
The footsteps outside were drawing closer and closer...
The few people outside only needed to come in, and they would immediately discover her presence.
Nathalie Quinlan silently counted the time in her heart.
10.
9.
8.
...
She quickly counted down to "1."
At the same time, someone had already noticed that something was wrong with the punishment hall; it seemed someone had come in.
"Someone broke in!"
Jerome Kingsley stared at the traces of intrusion inside the punishment hall, his face dark, his tone fast and angry: "That person shouldn’t have gotten far. Search!"
His hand pushed the door open, just about to step inside.
Right then, a figure darted past as fast as lightning. Jerome Kingsley didn’t see the other person’s face clearly at all; he only saw a black smoke bomb explode two steps in front of him, and a thick, choking white fog instantly blocked his line of sight...
Through the white fog, he saw a lithe figure about to break out of the encirclement and run toward the outer wall.
Jerome Kingsley couldn’t be bothered with anything else; pointing at the Girl’s back, he shouted sharply, "She’s over there! Move!"
The Kingsleys Family had been able to stand firm in Inderia for over a hundred years, and it was definitely not just because of their reputation on the outside.
If the Kingsleys Family were this easy to break into, someone as utterly fearless as Emma Gabehart wouldn’t have repeatedly urged Nathalie Quinlan to think twice.
As soon as Jerome Kingsley spotted Nathalie Quinlan, the other people of the Kingsleys Family also noticed her.
Someone reacted quickly and had already gone in pursuit.
Nathalie Quinlan had her duckbill cap pulled very low. With one hand she grabbed onto the wall, her face expressionless as she kicked away the person who almost brushed her shoulder. Her other hand quickly caught the other side of the wall; her movements were agile, and she was just about to make it over.
Just then.
In the dense smoke, a Gunshot suddenly rang out, slicing through the cover of the smoke in a flash and shooting straight toward the Girl’s back, aimed right at the Heart.
Out of the corner of her eye, Nathalie Quinlan caught the Bullet speeding straight at herself and let out a low grunt. Her reaction speed was extremely fast; in almost the blink of an eye, she had dodged the fatal ambush.
But the price was severe.
The Bullet pierced through her right shoulder, right where she’d had an old wound not long ago. A wave of numb, sharp pain shot from her Arm down to the palm of her hand.
The Girl’s expression barely changed, her movements not pausing in the slightest. She nimbly turned over the wall—clearly, there was no way to keep her!
The few people from the Kingsleys Family who witnessed this scene all looked drastically changed and immediately moved to give chase.
Just then, Lynn Kingsley suddenly came quickly from the other side. Seeing the punishment hall in complete chaos, he barked at them, "Stop!"
Jerome Kingsley and Firman Kingsley, who had just fired, both halted subconsciously and turned their heads to see Lynn Kingsley hurrying over.
They were taken aback. "Clan Chief?"
"Let her go." Lynn Kingsley pressed his fingers to his brow and spoke in a low voice.
Jerome Kingsley, who was acting as the punishment hall master in Hansel Kingsley’s stead, showed a faint change of expression at those words. After hesitating for a moment, he said to him, "I saw her bag bulging. She must have taken something from the Kingsleys Family. We’re not going after her?"
"Firman Kingsley just fired a shot. She’s already wounded; she can’t get far. If we go now, we can still catch up."
A rare flash of anger crossed Lynn Kingsley’s handsome, mature face. His dark eyes turned cold and vicious as he looked at the people in the punishment hall, lowering his Voice slightly: "I said let her go!"
