Chapter 241: Chapter 240: Blue Quality, Mechanical Grinding Disc

"My lord, you’re here?"

As Gu Su was observing the windmill before him, Tooth Bone poked his head out from behind it.

It was impossible to read any expression on his Skeleton face, but his movements were hurried, as if he were in the middle of something important and had just happened to see Gu Su arrive. He quickly scurried out from behind the windmill.

His well-defined Bone Joint hands were stained with iron filings and chips of Broken Bones. The small tools hanging from his waist clinked and clanked as he moved, a clear sign he had been busy at the windmill for quite some time.

"Is this the Grinding Disc you were repairing? Is it finished?" Gu Su finally understood what he was looking at.

He had assumed the Grinding Disc was still being slowly repaired in Tooth Bone’s workshop. After all, Tooth Bone had said it couldn’t be fixed in a day or two; it might take three to five days, or even ten.

He never expected that after only a few days, the Grinding Disc would not only be repaired but also set up here in the Main Tomb Area.

Although it didn’t look much like a Grinding Disc anymore, when it came to demonic modifications, everyone knew the deal.

"It’s mostly repaired. Just the final step left."

Tooth Bone said this while pulling out a few more parts from behind the windmill. With iron filings and chips of Broken Bones caught between his Bone Joints, he looked like he’d been at it for a while.

He didn’t stop working as he spoke, his eyes fixed on the unfinished parts on the windmill’s base, as if he were double-checking where each piece should go.

Gu Su’s interest was piqued. He decided to stop nearby and watch Tooth Bone put on the finishing touches.

He took two steps back, found a spot with a good view, and stood there with his arms crossed. His gaze shifted between Tooth Bone and the windmill, watching quietly so as not to disturb him.

Although he hadn’t fought any tough battles in the last two days, he had been busy running around and hadn’t had much downtime. This was a rare chance to see how his Undead subordinates actually worked.

Tooth Bone had no time to explain anything to Gu Su. He just forced the various prepared parts onto the windmill’s foundation.

Some of the parts had been dismantled from the Mechanical Grinding Disc, some Tooth Bone had found elsewhere, and others had been hastily forged in the corridors or purchased from the Trading Post.

Parts of all sizes were piled next to the windmill’s base—Metal, bone, wood, you name it. They were scattered messily across the ground. Some were rusty, some were polished to a shine, and some were even entangled with dried vines, making it impossible to tell which corner they’d been dug out of.

In any case, these components came from all sorts of strange places and had no standard size, but Tooth Bone always found a way to fit them together.

If a large piece didn’t fit, he’d hammer it smaller. If a small one was too loose, he’d wedge a bone underneath it. If it was crooked, he’d pull it straight with vines. If it was wobbly, he’d plaster it with flesh and blood. If the teeth on a gear didn’t align, he’d just use pliers to bend or grind them down until it could be crammed into place.

Even if something wasn’t quite right, he could always use flesh or vines to hold it in place and make it functional. Tooth Bone’s hands moved with incredible speed. His bony fingers flew as he placed one part after another onto the base with almost no hesitation, as if he had a perfect blueprint in his mind and knew exactly where every piece belonged.

Soon, most of the base and the Grinding Disc were assembled. The windmill’s foundation began to take shape, with gears interlocking and axles connecting. At a glance, it even looked somewhat orderly.

The turning gears stirred up a faint breeze, scattering the dust on the base. But then, Tooth Bone did something that left Gu Su speechless.

He had actually found the rare materials Gu Su had been saving.

One unit of Crystal, one unit of Gemstone, and two units of mercury. Gu Su had been hoarding these materials, unwilling to use them. Even upgrading the Graveyard Demon hadn’t required such a large investment, yet Tooth Bone was dumping them all into the base made from the Mechanical Grinding Disc.

The Crystal was shattered and mixed into the gaps between the gears, its fragments glittering as the cogs interlocked.

The Gemstone was embedded in a groove on the axle, wedged tightly by the gears. It spun along with them, looking like a luminous pearl hidden inside the core.

One unit of mercury was slowly poured into a pre-made groove, where it snaked its way through the base’s interior. The silvery, shimmering liquid was like a living serpent, weaving between the gears and parts, filling every last crevice.

After dealing with the rare materials, Tooth Bone brought out a green glass casing he had pre-ordered from the Trading Post. The casing was a solid, dark green color, extremely hard, and highly translucent—perfect for completely enclosing the base.

He carefully assembled the pieces of the glass casing, fitting them together seamlessly over the exterior of the base. It completely concealed all traces of the messy parts, the flesh, and the rare materials.

From the outside, you couldn’t see the specifics within, only the faint turning of gears, the flow of mercury, and a flickering Blue light.

The four corners of the glass cover were wrapped in sheet iron, which was fastened with rivets. The heads of the rivets were polished to a shine, firmly securing the cover to the base.

When everything was done, a casual observer would only see a windmill standing on a two-by-two-meter, dark-green glass platform. They would never guess what was hidden inside.

The glass platform covered the base completely, leaving only the windmill’s axle and blades exposed. It looked clean and neat, giving no hint of the hodgepodge of junk stuffed underneath.

After everything was assembled, Tooth Bone began pouring another unit of mercury into the feed chute at the bottom of the windmill.

He held an earthenware pot, its mouth tilted toward the feed chute. A thin stream of silvery mercury flowed out, glinting coldly under the gloomy sky.

The mercury flowed down the chute and into the grooves inside the base, merging with the mercury already there. It pooled inside the glass casing, growing deeper and deeper until it submerged the bottoms of the gears.

As the mercury poured in, the previously stuck windmill slowly began to turn.

At first, the blades moved very slowly, as if something were dragging them from below. Each rotation took a long time, accompanied by a creaking sound. It seemed to pause after every turn, as if lacking power.

But after a few rotations, it picked up speed. The sound of the turning blades smoothed out, no longer a stuttering scrape but a low, continuous hum, like something humming a song underground.

Gu Su also saw a Blue glow slowly emanating from within the dark-green glass. The light shone out from inside, faint at first, as if seen through several layers of gauze, making it difficult to discern clearly.

But soon it grew brighter. A shimmering Blue radiance poured from every face of the glass cover, dyeing the entire windmill Blue. Even the edges of the blades were rimmed with an ethereal Blue halo.

The light wasn’t stinging, but gentle. It was a solid brightness, as if something were burning—or living—inside.

"My lord, it’s done!"

Gu Su didn’t need Tooth Bone to tell him; he already knew it was a success.

The relevant information had already popped up in front of him.
