Besides the most basic supplies, the Koba Deceivers offered Gu Su something else in exchange for the two Green Quality Shige Rabbit Skins he possessed.
According to the dark-skinned man, these two Deceitful Song Rabbit Hides were extremely important to them.
With them, two Deceivers from their tribe could break through their current limits and gain the opportunity to grow stronger. In this perilous land, that was almost like gaining an extra life.
Gu Su could see the desperation in their eyes.
As the dark-skinned man spoke, his fingers were clenched so tightly around the hem of his clothes that his knuckles had turned white.
The other Deceivers hiding in the tall grass behind him also peeked out. Their gazes swept back and forth over the two rabbit skins, which glowed with a green light. Their Adam’s apples bobbed, but they didn’t dare say a word.
And the item they offered in trade truly tempted Gu Su.
It wasn’t some Green Quality material, nor was it some far-fetched legendary rumor. If it had been something like that, Gu Su wouldn’t have fallen for it. What Gu Su wanted was something tangible, something he could use right now.
As it turned out, what they presented was an item that had been thoroughly damaged.
It was a massive Grinding Disc.
When Gu Su first saw it, he didn’t even recognize it as a Grinding Disc.
He had seen the stone mills in ordinary farmyards—round stones stacked together, coarse, heavy, and simple.
He had also seen the grinding discs in windmills and watermills; although they were mechanical, they were comparatively simple.
But the thing before him was made entirely of rusted metal. Gears and chains were meshed together in layers. A few broken drive shafts could be seen at the edges, sticking out crookedly, as if they had been forcibly torn from some larger machine.
If the dark-skinned man hadn’t said it was a Grinding Disc taken from their manor, Gu Su would have had no idea what it was.
It looked more like a part from some abandoned factory, left in a corner to be weathered by wind and rain for years. The rust had started to peel, and flakes would fall off with the slightest touch.
But no matter how rusted it was or how unremarkable it looked, the moment Gu Su’s gaze fell upon it and the system notification popped up, he couldn’t look away.
[Rusted Mechanical Grinding Disc (Blue): A mechanical body that was affected by a strange power and was on the verge of becoming some kind of bizarre source. The strange power from its source has been extracted, causing a loss of main functions. Repairable.]
Blue.
Gu Su stared at the word, feeling his heart skip a beat.
According to the rules of this Game World, every Game World had its Level Cap.
A Tier One Game World had a Level Cap of Level 10, and the highest quality it could produce was Green.
Only in a Tier Two Game World, with a Level Cap of Level 20, could Blue Quality equipment and items appear.
The Game World he was currently in had been upgraded upon entry, its level spanning from Tier One to Tier Two.
In other words, this Grinding Disc, so rusted it looked like it was about to fall apart, was the highest-tier existence Gu Su could currently encounter.
Even though it was damaged, even though its original form was unrecognizable, that single word, "Blue," made it all worth it.
Gu Su didn’t hesitate.
"A trade." He crisply handed over the two Shige Rabbit Skins and picked up the Grinding Disc.
The dark-skinned man’s fingers trembled as he took the rabbit skins.
The Deceivers hiding in the tall grass behind him also peeked out, their eyes fixed on the two rabbit skins glowing with green light, their sockets filled with an unconcealable longing.
Gu Su didn’t spare them another glance. Cradling the heavy Grinding Disc, he turned and walked back toward the Graveyard Demon.
After returning to the Graveyard Demon, he immediately had someone summon Tooth Bone and the Walking Dead Craftsman who specialized in vehicle repair.
The three of them squatted in an open space next to the Yin Fire Heap, turning the Grinding Disc over and over to examine it several times.
The Walking Dead Craftsman was the first to speak.
He extended a bony finger and gently tapped the thickest patch of rust on the disc’s edge. He then ran his finger along the gaps between the gears before finally shaking his head.
"Sir, my repair Talent is entirely focused on vehicles. This thing... I can’t handle it."
He paused, then added, "But I can offer my opinion.
The core of this thing is still intact—the part where the gears interlock.
If we could take it apart, clean out the rusted sections inside, and replace the drive shafts, it should be able to move again.
But as for how to dismantle and reassemble it, I have no idea.
As for demonic modification, I can’t offer any ideas. This thing doesn’t seem to have a power source or a proper transmission system. Most importantly, we can’t determine what this thing’s original purpose was.
It’s not like someone would turn a Grinding Disc into a Blue Quality item just to mill some flour."
Gu Su nodded and turned his gaze to Tooth Bone.
Tooth Bone didn’t rush to give his assessment. He circled the Grinding Disc twice, squatted down to look at it from various angles for a long time, and then picked up the broken drive shafts one by one to inspect them before finally looking up.
"Sir, I can repair this," he said. His voice was steady, not like he was boasting.
"But there are a few conditions."
Gu Su gestured for him to continue.
"First, I need materials." Tooth Bone counted on his bony fingers. "The gears need good materials. Ordinary sheet iron won’t do; it has to be at least Green Quality Metal.
The same goes for the drive shafts. Ordinary wood would snap under pressure. We’ll need treated bone or high-quality metal.
Also, if any Green Quality items appear in the Yin Soul Shop, I need to have priority in choosing them. This is a necessary condition for repairing the Grinding Disc."
"Second, I need time." He looked up, the Soul Fire in his eye sockets flickering. "This can’t be fixed in a day or two. It might take a long time—maybe three to five days, maybe ten or more."
He added one last thing, his tone especially serious, "Also, Sir, you’ve seen the state this thing is in. If it’s just a repair, that’s no problem.
But if you want to perform a demonic modification, that will depend on Luck.
We’ll have to see if we get the right opportunities and materials.
Right now, the most I can guarantee is that I can repair it. I can’t promise anything else."
After listening, Gu Su was silent for a moment.
He looked down at the rusted heap of a Grinding Disc on the ground, then at Tooth Bone, who was squatting beside it with metal shavings still caught between his Bone Joints.
"Alright," he said with a nod. "I’ll figure out the materials. You’ll have first pick of any Green Quality items from the Yin Soul Shop. There’s no rush on the time. Take it slow. Just don’t ruin it."
Tooth Bone acknowledged the order and called over a few of his subordinates. They carefully lifted the Grinding Disc and began carrying it toward his repair workshop in the surrounding wall.
The Walking Dead Craftsman hesitated for a moment but didn’t follow. He had already said all he could; the rest didn’t require his involvement.
