The Undead Calamity Begins with a Graveyard Demon
Chapter 230 - 229: Wild Boar Courting Death
Chapter 230: Chapter 229: Wild Boar Courting Death
"Turn around and engage!"
Gu Su’s voice carried down from the wall—unhurried, but with an air of crisp, unquestionable authority.
The wild boar was charging down the path the Graveyard Demon had just plowed, its four hooves sending mud flying. In the twilight, its tusks held a dull gleam, like two old stones unearthed from the ground.
The two Walking Dead drivers in the cockpit moved the instant Gu Su finished speaking.
Their withered hands slammed the thrust levers forward. Jet Acceleration Ports shot out from the base of the walls on either side of the city gate, spewing two streams of grayish-white exhaust.
The Graveyard Demon’s massive body jolted and shot forward, directly smashing through the remains of the church wall blocking its path.
Rubble and shattered glass were ground into the earth. The crooked rafters rolled underneath, snapping into pieces with a series of CRACKS.
The Graveyard Demon didn’t stop. Using its momentum, it carved an arc through the ruins. The stone spheres beneath it rolled madly, slinging mucus everywhere. The entire Mobile City, like a Giant Beast abruptly roused from sleep, lumbered through a nimble turn to face the charging boar head-on.
The wild boar was visibly stunned for a second. It was already changing course, its front hooves digging left and its body leaning in that direction, trying to chase and bite the Graveyard Demon’s tail. But it was too late.
Alice’s voice came from the Communication Puppet, calm and measured, issuing one word at a time: "Thirty meters ahead. Five-degree left offset... Steady... Now."
A Walking Dead’s hand made a minute adjustment on the thrust lever.
The Graveyard Demon’s front was aimed perfectly at the boar’s flank, its three Giant-headed City-Breaking Awls—embedded in the northern wall—pointing directly at the animal’s belly.
The three heads were embedded side-by-side in the wall. Each was over two men tall, its mouth stretched open to its widest, revealing a black, cavernous throat within.
The wooden shafts inside their mouths were as thick as roof beams, their tips capped with Metal. Soaked in Dragon Blood, they glowed a dark red.
They had always been embedded there, silent and still. Gu Su had never given them a second glance. ’Useless,’ he’d always thought, ’not worth the space.’ But now, they had a purpose.
The wild boar charged.
It lowered its head, tusks jutting forward, the stiff bristles on its back standing on end like a moving wall.
As it ran, the ground trembled—not with the deep, muffled rumbling that came from the earth’s core when the Graveyard Demon moved, but with a solid, thudding vibration, as if someone were pounding the very turf with a hammer.
The very instant before impact, the three Giant-headed City-Breaking Awls on the Graveyard Demon’s facade shot out. Their sharp tips, like lethally poisoned blades, plunged deep into the wild boar’s abdomen.
A dull tearing sound echoed as thick, dark-red blood instantly gushed forth. It flowed down the seams of the City-Breaking Awls, spreading across the ground in a shocking splash of crimson.
The Graveyard Demon then used its forward momentum to shove the boar’s body onward. Its massive base ground against the earth, pinning the animal’s corpse firmly in place.
The three Giant-headed City-Breaking Awls, moreover, began to strike in sequence, establishing a brutally destructive rhythm. Every second, one City-Breaking Awl would stab deep into the boar’s belly, tearing open a deeper wound.
At the same time, two City-Breaking Awls would be violently retracted, pulling free with a spray of viscera and flesh, already powering up to launch another swift frontal assault.
The three City-Breaking Awls worked in rotation: one stabbed, one retracted, one powered up. They didn’t stop for a single second.
The boar’s belly was stabbed to a bloody pulp, its flesh and hide peeled back. Blood and shredded meat streamed down the wooden shafts, dripping onto the base of the Graveyard Demon’s walls, only to be caught by the stone spheres and churned into Blood Mud.
The boar’s struggles grew more violent. It desperately lowered its center of gravity, its stout limbs scrambling to find purchase as it tried to turn and escape the Graveyard Demon’s crushing weight.
But it was, after all, only a boar—a living creature. Despite its enormous size and tough hide, it was like an ant trying to shake a tree against the Graveyard Demon.
In terms of Power, size, or resilience, there was a world of difference between it and this mobile territory nourished by stone spheres, Dragon Blood Mucus, and Death Qi.
But what truly sealed its fate was the continuous piercing and ramming of the three Giant-headed City-Breaking Awls.
Under the relentless assault, several gashes were torn into the boar’s abdomen, deep enough to expose bone. Scalding entrails mixed with blood poured continuously from the wounds. Some were shredded by the City-Breaking Awls, while the rest was sucked under the Graveyard Demon’s stone spheres. With high-speed grinding and friction, it was instantly reduced to pools of foul-smelling Blood Mud that merged with the earth.
For a wild boar with such tenacious Life Force, this extreme pain and sensation of being torn apart was undoubtedly fatal torture.
It let out a deafening squeal, its limbs kicking madly, but it could only allow the Graveyard Demon to push its body forward, carving a path for over eight hundred meters.
Weeds and rubble in their path were pulverized. The once-flat ground was gouged into a deep trench, trailed by a shocking and unbroken line of dark red Blood Mud.
Only when its internal organs were almost entirely shredded and its body could no longer support itself did the tough, rock-skinned wild boar finally collapse with a THUD. Its massive body went limp before the Graveyard Demon, its limbs twitching a few times before falling utterly still. It couldn’t be more dead.

Gu Su stood on the wall, staring at the boar’s corpse, and paused, momentarily stunned.
’What the hell was it trying to accomplish by charging out?’
’Where did it come from? Why run toward the Graveyard Demon?’
’Did it smell something, or did something startle it? It couldn’t have just been tired of living and decided to come here to commit suicide, could it?’
He thought about it for a long while, but when no answer came to him, he decided to drop it.
’It’s dead now, anyway. Who cares why it came?’
He waved his hand, ordering the Walking Dead to turn the Graveyard Demon around and push the boar’s corpse toward the small church.
Gu Su had the Graveyard Demon stop only when the boar’s corpse had been pushed to the edge of the small church’s ruins.
The shattered Colored Glass, the toppled altar, the half-collapsed foundation—it was all piled up next to the boar.
The cemetery behind it was still there. Tombstones, headstones, and fragments of overturned coffins lay there in silence.
It was clear that the earlier charge had completely plowed through the little church. ’I wonder if it’s still useful,’ Gu Su thought, ’and if I can still devour and absorb it.’
At this thought, Gu Su no longer hesitated. He waved his hand. Blood-red Corroding Mycelium surged from the seams of the Graveyard Demon’s undercarriage, crawling forward like a living creature to swiftly cover the entire small church and the adjacent cemetery.
Except, this time, the wild boar’s corpse was enveloped along with them.
