Once everything had stabilized, Gu Su leaped down from the melted section of the wall.
His Graveyard Demon looked completely wrecked—even more dilapidated than when he had first acquired it.
But Gu Su couldn’t care less.
He already knew the rewards from the Dragon Blood Baptism.
His Attributes had all increased. Power: 6.1, Agility: 4.0, Constitution: 8.3, Spirit: 3.9. Although his skin was currently a rotten mess, his muscles were perfectly intact.
To put it bluntly, Gu Su could now take on a standard Death Knight player in a one-on-one fight using only his physical body.
If he were to don a suit of Armor and just stand there, no one would be able to tell which of them was the real Death Knight.
But that wasn’t the most important part. The crucial thing was that the Graveyard Demon had evolved from a [Desolate Graveyard] to a [Dripping Blood Graveyard].
It didn’t quite reach the level of a [Dragon Blood Graveyard], but the Graveyard Demon’s underlying potential had significantly increased.
At the same time, Gu Su received a notification: until the Graveyard Demon reached Purple Quality, he would be exempt from investing one Golden Finger each time he upgraded its rank.
This quality upgrade referred to the process of advancing from White to Green, Green to Blue, and so on.
To upgrade, not only did the Golden Finger itself need to reach its maximum level for its current quality, but it also had to consume other Golden Fingers of the same rank.
For example, to upgrade the Graveyard Demon to Green Quality, Gu Su would need to raise it to Level 5 and then feed it two white, Level 5 Golden Fingers.
To go from Green to Blue, the Graveyard Demon would need to reach Level 10 and consume three green, Level 10 Golden Fingers.
And from Blue to Purple, it would require Level 15 and four blue, Level 15 Golden Fingers.
The notification meant that from now on, whenever Gu Su upgraded the Graveyard Demon’s quality, he would need one less Golden Finger than usual.
For Gu Su, that was more than enough.
’These are Golden Fingers we’re talking about!’
He’d been tricked and had to fight for his life just for a single one.
’And now I find out that upgrading requires at least two more of the same rank as sacrifices?’
’Do other people’s Golden Fingers just fall from the sky?’
Gu Su couldn’t help but shake his head.
’I refuse to believe it, anyway.’
This time, Gu Su had lucked out. Until he upgraded the Graveyard Demon to Purple Quality, the Resources he’d need to invest would be far fewer than what others required.
To say nothing of later upgrades, just for the advancement to Green Quality, Gu Su now only needed to find one white, Level 5 Golden Finger.
As for what category the Golden Finger belonged to—"Land, Technique, Companion, or Wealth"—that didn’t really matter.
This realization sent Gu Su’s confidence soaring.
After all, Gu Su’s own Level was tied to his Golden Finger.
He needed a Green Quality Golden Finger to advance from Level 11 to Level 20.
In other words, Gu Su was already half a step ahead of the curve.
Even a small half-step was enough.
That’s why Gu Su truly didn’t care about the damage his Graveyard Demon had sustained.
Everything else could be fixed later. The Dragon Blood was what couldn’t be wasted.
With this in mind, Gu Su immediately stood up and began to Communicate with his Graveyard Demon.
The Dragon Blood Baptism was over. Now was the perfect time to pack up the Graveyard Demon. The Dragon Blood that had splattered everywhere was still Dragon Blood, after all. Not a single drop could be wasted.
And so, the dilapidated Graveyard Demon began to spray out thin strands of Corroding Mycelium.
The originally white Corroding Mycelium now looked like red, blood-like threads.
After landing on the ground, the Corroding Mycelium immediately began to absorb the Dragon Blood.
At the same time, Gu Su dispatched all of his Undead subordinates—Skeletons, Walking Dead, Ghosts, Bone Dogs, Corpse Rats, and Slimes alike.
They had only one mission: to dig up every last bit of Dragon Blood-soaked soil and transport it into the Graveyard Demon.
Just then, something unexpected happened.
The Blood Waterflea, which had been growing on its own in the Swamp Forest, suddenly seemed to be stimulated and began expanding outward on its own.
It rapidly grew beyond the Graveyard Demon’s borders.
It was clear that the Blood Waterflea had absorbed the residual Dragon Blood and undergone a mutation.
Its recovery rate was far faster than any of the other plants in the Graveyard Demon. They were even fighting for the nutrients from the Dragon Blood, forcing themselves to evolve and crowding out the Graveyard Demon’s other vegetation.
The situation left Gu Su speechless. ’I can’t believe even plants are this cutthroat,’ he thought. Still, it was a welcome development.
Some of Gu Su’s Undead even began harvesting the Blood Waterflea.
The harvested Blood Waterflea was immediately put to use by Bone Masonry. He led his subordinates, using the plant’s material to begin repairing the nearly-destroyed Graveyard Demon.
Gu Su soon discovered that the Blood Waterflea leaves were far superior to iron sheets.
The patches looked a little ugly, but they were incredibly practical.
Having absorbed Dragon Blood, the leaves of the Blood Waterflea were now noticeably stronger than iron sheets.
If there weren’t other things to repair, Bone Masonry would have been tempted to replace all the building materials with these leaves.
Thanks to the combined efforts of Gu Su’s subordinates, it took a full day to get everything in order.
All the Dragon Blood-soaked soil was transported back into the Graveyard Demon. Most of it was dumped directly onto the Graveyard Demon’s surface, a smaller portion was stored in the basement, and some was used as raw material for repairs.
This soil was top-grade material. Combined with the now-proliferating Blood Waterflea, they had more than enough materials to almost completely repair the battered Graveyard Demon.
The few remaining bits and pieces would require some minor touch-ups later, but its main functions were already restored.
The Graveyard Demon was now about the same size as it was after devouring two Mobile Cities and a War Giant Beast, and its layout hadn’t changed much either.
However, some of the details were now strikingly different.
For instance, the balloons hanging on the walls were still red, but they were now clearly covered in patches made from leaves.
Moreover, because the balloons had been punctured and repaired, they were starting to evolve into something more like air bladders.
Then there was the Fluorescent Vine in the basement. It was originally green, with a few specks of purple light at most.
Now, it was completely different. Its new pink coloration completely dispelled the eerie atmosphere of Gu Su’s Graveyard Demon, making the basement feel suddenly frivolous.
Furthermore, the slime and spheres underneath the Graveyard Demon were now completely covered in fresh blood. When they rolled, they left a bloody trail on the ground, looking as if a mudslide had just swept through and crushed countless people.
In short, while the main structure of the Graveyard Demon hadn’t changed, the details were now completely different.
