Gu Su stood on the wall, looking down at the gradually quieting battlefield. After a few seconds of silence, he calmly uttered a few words:

"Clean up the battlefield."

The moment the command was given, the Ordinary Skeletons that had been idling inside the Graveyard Demon sprang into action.

They poured out from every corner of the Graveyard Demon, passed through the open gate, and spread across the scorched earth like a white tide, quickly fanning out to every corner of the battlefield.

Although each of them was quite mindless, Gu Su wasn’t asking them to do much—just to haul everything back into the Graveyard Demon.

Under Gu Su’s watchful eye, it was a task they could still manage.

The Skeletons that went down first began dragging the corpses off the ground.

They dragged them inside the Graveyard Demon.

Afterwards, they picked up the Lizardmen’s weapons and the various odds and ends on their bodies.

These items certainly had to be kept separate from the corpses.

Even if the corpses were thrown into a Gravepile, the weapons and equipment couldn’t be tossed in with them. That would be far too wasteful.

Lastly, they dealt with the remains of Gu Su’s own Undead, as well as the blood and other messes on the ground.

Other than these things, they didn’t take anything else.

But Gu Su hadn’t asked for much more; the corpses were enough.

With several hundred Skeletons moving at once right under his nose, Gu Su couldn’t be expected to command each one individually.

’As for having a Boss or something to lead them, Gu Su would have loved that.’

But he currently had no great Gravepiles capable of producing a new Boss.

In any case, their cleanup was proceeding quite smoothly.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the battlefield, five pickup trucks and two heavy trucks started their engines, disappearing on the spot amidst a surge of Black Fog.

The next second, they reappeared at the edge of the ruins in the direction of Sector 73.

That was the team consisting of Bone Ash, Healthy Body, and Push Tooth.

The Six-legged Lizard had crashed its way over from that direction.

Gu Su remembered clearly that at the time, the Mobile City—the Swamp Rotting Crab—that the Giant Beast was carrying had been reduced to just half its size.

And the ghastly wounds on the lizard’s own stomach indicated that it had smashed through something else before charging over.

In other words, the lizard had charged through at least three or more defensive sectors, and there were likely no players left in them.

The wreckage from those sectors was surely scattered along its path. Now was the perfect time to go scavenging.

Gu Su’s order to them was to pick up everything they could find along the way and bring back anything salvageable.

’In Gu Su’s eyes, all of it was his now.’

Gu Su retracted his gaze and looked back at the battlefield before him.

The walls on both sides of the Graveyard Demon silently split open, and dense, ink-green vines gushed out like awakening serpents. They spread rapidly along the ground, unerringly wrapping around the Crystalized Six-legged Giant Lizard and the Mobile City.

One of the six legs of the Crystalized Six-legged Giant Lizard’s corpse was broken, and viscous fluid was still oozing from the wound.

The remains of the Mobile City were even more shattered. Half of its body was lodged diagonally in the ruins, several of its crab legs were splayed out limply, and the cracks on its carapace were startling to behold.

The vines had already begun to entwine them.

At first, only a few thin vines poked out from the cracks in the lower half of the wall, tentatively probing the giant lizard’s corpse.

Then, more and more vines joined in. Some were as thick as arms, others as slender as fingers. One by one, they wrapped around the giant lizard’s broken leg, its neck, and its massive, still slightly agape maw.

The vines on the other side burrowed into the giant crab’s shattered carapace, binding the fractured bones and the tissues still clinging to flesh and sinew.

They tightened their grip, as if trying to pull these two wrecks completely into their own body.

By the time the vines had dragged the remains to the edge of the Graveyard Demon, Corroding Mycelium began to pour from its base.

At first, only a few snow-white, hair-thin threads poked out from cracks at the base of the wall, swaying gently in the air.

Then, more mycelium surged from the earth at the edge of the Withered Wood Forest and emerged from every inch of ground around the Yin Fire Heaps, dense and layered.

Like a rushing white stream, they flowed toward the two wrecks.

The mycelium twisted and stretched in the air, growing faster and denser.

The giant lizard’s corpse was covered first, as it was the closest. The mycelium crawled up its broken leg, onto its abdomen, and over its back, layer upon layer, completely burying its dark-brown scales.

The giant crab’s remains were not spared. The mycelium poured into its shattered carapace, into the gaping cracks, into the long-congealed organs and tissues within, and even over the trees, huts, and silt on its back.

Finally, the mycelium covered them layer after layer, completely encasing the two mountain-like remains into two giant white mounds.

The air filled with a cloying, sweet, and rotten stench—the smell emitted by the mycelium as it decomposed the remains. Faint, crunching sounds occasionally came from deep within the mycelium.

It was the sound of bones being crushed, or perhaps the SIZZLE of carapaces being corroded, or the GURGLE of some liquid flowing.

[Ding! Devouring Crystalized Six-legged Giant Lizard (Belonging to the White Scale Clan), time required: 4 hours 30 minutes. Devouring Swamp Rotting Crab (Level 1 Mobile City), time required: 3 hours 30 minutes!]

Gu Su glanced at it and got the gist of the situation.

The Swamp Rotting Crab was only half a corpse, so it was being devoured faster.

Although the Crystalized Six-legged Giant Lizard was just a War Giant Beast, its advantage was that it was whole, so it would take an extra hour.

He looked away from the panel and began to take stock of his gains and losses from this battle in his mind.

His greatest losses were among the Bone Dogs. Before, he only had a little over one hundred and fifty Bone Dogs left, and half of them had died in this battle.

Fortunately, he had harvested a good number of corpses this time. The ones brought back so far numbered at least two hundred.

According to the conversion efficiency of the Bone Dog Great Gravepile, one corpse could produce two Bone Dogs.

The Bone Dog unit’s full complement was three hundred. He currently had over seventy remaining, a shortfall of about two hundred and twenty. One hundred and ten corpses would be enough to replenish them, and the remaining corpses would be enough to fill the gap in the Walking Dead ranks as well.

As for the weapons, armor, and miscellaneous items scavenged from the battlefield, the Long Spears and Short Sabers used by the Lizardmen were piled into a small mountain. There wasn’t much in the way of armor, but what they had could be given to the Ordinary Skeletons.

’A decent haul.’

He didn’t need to worry about the Skeleton Warriors. Gu Su had several hundred Skeletons with nowhere to go; as soon as a Great Gravepile freed up space, they would enter on their own.

He wasn’t the least bit worried about being short on manpower.

What Gu Su was actually more concerned about now was something else.

After that last battle, it seemed he had enough Experience again.

’Should he take this opportunity to level up?’
