Chapter 183: Chapter 182: Morning Arrangements

——————————

Stepping out of the control room, Gu Su wasn’t in a hurry to deal with the last [Flesh Talent Writer].

The sky had brightened considerably, a purple halo once again staining the heavens and laying bare every trace of last night’s brutal slaughter.

He stood at the entrance to the control room and took a deep breath, savoring the cool morning air. A thought suddenly struck him—the Yin Soul Shop should have refreshed by now.

He turned and walked toward the shop at an unhurried pace.

The Yin Soul Shop looked the same as always: a worn-out wooden table displaying three newly stocked items.

A short sword, an apple, and a frying pan.

The entire short sword was woven from hundreds of Copper Coins strung together with red silk cord. The coins were layered on top of each other, their edges slightly curled. The sword was about a foot and a half long with a slightly curved blade. Red cord had been deliberately wound around the hilt to create a grip, and a slightly larger Copper Coin was attached to the crossguard as a handguard.

However, the once-gleaming brass Copper Coins had all turned a deep black, as if they had been repeatedly steeped in something. The surface of each coin was coated in a layer of dark red grime. Some of it had dried and cracked, revealing the mottled copper beneath.

The red cord had faded to a dark brown, snapped in several places and crudely re-tied. The entire sword emanated an ominous Yin Qi.

The apple, in contrast, was vibrant. It wasn’t large, but it was split into two distinct colors: one half a succulent, dewy green, the other a luscious, vivid red. The line between them was perfectly sharp, as if two different fruits had been forcibly fused together.

The green half gave off a faint, fluorescent glow, while the red half looked exceptionally plump. A faint, fruity fragrance wafted from it, mingled with an almost imperceptible bitter aroma.

As for the frying pan, it was quite unremarkable. It was cast from black iron, its bottom somewhat blackened and its rim bearing a few nicks and dents. It looked no different from a common piece of household cookware.

The only oddity was a faint, dark-red sheen that seemed to glimmer on its surface, only to vanish upon closer inspection.

[Corpse Blood Copper Coin Sword (White): A Copper Coin Sword that has slain numerous Zombies and is stained with their corpse blood. It can provide a certain degree of enhancement to Walking Dead, Zombies, or other Zombie-type Undead. (Price: 6 Gold Coins)]

[Apple of Life and Death (White): A Poisoned Apple, with one side coated in poison and the other in the antidote. Eating the green side is fatal; eating the red side will cure the poison. (Price: 8 Gold Coins)]

[Killer Frying Pan (White): A frying pan that has been used to kill. Although it is imbued with a certain amount of Evil Qi and Resentment, its normal function is not affected. (Price: 5 Gold Coins)]

Gu Su let out a chuckle.

After reviewing the properties of the three items, a slight smile touched Gu Su’s lips, a glint of satisfaction in his eyes. The Corpse Blood Copper Coin Sword, in particular, was perfect for strengthening his Walking Dead Team—it was by far the most practical item available right now.

Without the slightest hesitation, he looked toward the massive Gravepile in the distance, raised his hand, and beckoned. "Healthy Body."

The words had barely left his lips when the earth of the great Gravepile began to swell. A moment later, the Walking Dead Boss, Healthy Body, slowly climbed out. He strode forward with heavy, steady steps, stopping before Gu Su and bowing to await his command.

"This is for you. Take it and use it to strengthen the Walking Dead. Make good use of it."

Gu Su picked up the Corpse Blood Copper Coin Sword from the counter and casually handed it to Healthy Body. Healthy Body accepted the Copper Coin Sword respectfully, his rough palm closing tightly around the hilt. In the eerie light, the red silk and black Copper Coins of the blade glinted faintly.

He said nothing more. Carrying the Copper Coin Sword, he turned and strode quickly back toward the great Gravepile. Then, with a flick of his wrist, he firmly planted the Corpse Blood Copper Coin Sword in the ground directly in front of his own tombstone. The dark, gleaming Copper Coins shone with a somber light in the morning sun, and a faint Death Qi began to swirl around it.

A cloud of Yin Qi then began to emanate from the Copper Coin Sword, pouring into the great Gravepile.

With the matter of the Copper Coin Sword settled, Gu Su raised his hand and called softly into the air. A Communication Puppet appeared before him.

"I’m by the Yin Soul Shop. I need a Corpse Witch."

Gu Su’s order was instantly relayed to the Corpse Witches through their internal Communication network.

While waiting for the Corpse Witch to arrive, Gu Su glanced in the direction of the Deceitful Tree.

The white crows that had been perched on the boughs of the Deceitful Tree, among the deadwood branches, and atop the Graveyard Magic Wall had all taken wing long ago. They had flown off toward the distant darkness, leaving the branches and the wall bare.

Only Crow’s Caw remained, perched on the lowest branch of the Deceitful Tree, silently awaiting Gu Su’s next command.

The sight of Crow’s Caw suddenly reminded Gu Su of last night’s fierce battle. He recalled that three or four waves of Bone Dogs had been completely wiped out, with only about half of them surviving in the end.

’I wonder what happened to the Bone Dog boss.’

So, Gu Su turned toward the Withered Wood Forest and called out, "New Boss of the Bone Dogs, come here."

The words had barely left his lips when five agile figures shot out from the depths of the Withered Wood Forest. They moved with a light grace, their Bone Claws making sharp CLICK-CLACK sounds on the ground as they sprinted before Gu Su and came to a neat halt.

Gu Su’s gaze landed on the Bone Dog at the front of the pack. ’That must be the new Boss,’ he thought.

This new Boss had a well-proportioned frame and a complete skeleton, with no particularly distinguishing features. He looked quite ordinary.

But his temperament was surprisingly docile. Upon reaching Gu Su, he showed no signs of restlessness and obediently sat on the ground. The eerie light in his eye sockets was gentle as he looked up at Gu Su, appearing to await his orders.

"Speak," Gu Su said flatly, his calm gaze fixed on the creature. He wanted to quickly assess this new Boss’s strength. "What is your name, and what are your abilities?"

The new Bone Dog Boss slowly raised his head. "My Lord, my name is Dog Curse. I am the Boss of the Bone Dog unit."

[Dog Curse (Level 1, Summoned Creature, Undead Boss): Experience (61/200), Attack 3, Defense 1, Life 25, Talent: Continuous Attack.]

Dog Curse made sure to explain that his Continuous Attack wasn’t purely physical. When he bit an enemy, he would also launch an attack on their Soul, as if they had been cursed—hence his name, Dog Curse.

Dog Curse paused, then gestured with a claw toward the four Bone Dogs beside him, introducing them in turn. "Additionally, these four are Split Claw, Frenzied Roar, Breakthrough, and Hidden Tooth. They are all Minions in the Bone Dog unit."

"Split Claw possesses Claw Strike Enhancement, which greatly increases the power of his claw attacks."

"Frenzied Roar specializes in Fearful Howl, which can intimidate Low Tier enemies."

"Breakthrough has the See Through Invisibility Talent, allowing him to foil enemies’ invisibility Skills."

"And Hidden Tooth is a master of Backstabbing, able to launch fatal attacks from the shadows!"

Gu Su listened intently, his gaze sweeping over the four Bone Dog Minions. He nodded to himself in approval.

’These Bone Dog Minions are decent enough,’ he thought. ’At least they can keep things running. The Bone Dog unit won’t be without its fighting strength.’
