Chapter 124: Chapter 123: Small Trade Fair

"Poison Gas Bombs. Use a Catapult to launch them."

As soon as Gu Su asked about how to use the poison, the Corpse Witch answered without the slightest hesitation.

They had spent considerable effort researching this poison. From cultivating the Poison Water to refining the venom, they had handled every step personally, so naturally, they knew the Traits of this poison like the back of their hands.

The lab report in Gu Su’s hands recorded the poison’s toxicity data and refinement process, but for its actual combat applications, it was ultimately best to listen to the Corpse Witches who had researched it firsthand.

This viscous venom was clearly not suitable for coating weapons. It had poor adhesion and would easily corrode the armaments.

It was even less suitable to be ingested as a potion. It took too long to take effect and couldn’t unleash its full power.

Instead, making it into Poison Gas Bombs and launching them would allow the venom to rapidly disperse in the air. With its extremely high absorptivity, it could form a large-area Poisonous Fog, achieving widespread casualties.

A thought struck Gu Su. He vaguely realized that if these Poison Gas Bombs could be used in conjunction with Undead Magic like the Poisonous Fog Technique or Cloud of Death, their lethal effect would surely double.

But he also knew that the current magical proficiency of these Corpse Witches was far from sufficient. They were completely incapable of skillfully casting such complementary Magic. For now, they could only use the Poison Gas Bombs as basic thrown weapons, similar to grenades in a game—simple and direct, but still quite effective.

However, the mention of a Catapult made Gu Su frown.

He didn’t have any such siege engines at the moment.

He subconsciously recalled the six turret emplacements on the Graveyard Magic Wall. Right now, the only thing he could barely mount was a single Oil Sprayer. As for the rest, let alone Artillery, he was severely lacking even basic Ranged Attack equipment like Catapults.

’Looks like my Graveyard Demon is really lacking in everything,’ Gu Su lamented inwardly. Whether it was facilities, attack armaments, or the fundamental operational knowledge of a Mobile City, he was still a long way off.

Just then, a thought flashed through Gu Su’s mind.

’It seems my next step is to figure out the construction and operational methods for a Mobile City.’

’At the very least, I need to know how to operate the Mobile City.’

’Otherwise, I’m afraid I’ll have to rely on Luck and go into the Game World to either brute-force it with Corroding Mycelium or search for architectural blueprints.’

’If it comes to that, what’s the difference between my Graveyard Demon being upgraded or not? It still won’t be able to move.’

After clearing his thoughts, Gu Su didn’t linger. He turned and walked out of the Corpse Witches’ Toxicity Study Research Room.

Next to the Research Room was a small, partitioned-off room that the Corpse Witches used specifically to store the books he had sent back.

Inside the room, the books had been neatly sorted and placed one by one on shelves pieced together from old, worn-out wood.

Although the shelves were crude, with the gaps between the patched-together boards clearly visible, they were kept spotlessly clean. The books were arranged tidily by category, giving the space the semblance of a small Library.

Gu Su stood before the shelves and pondered for a moment before finally pulling out a few relevant textbooks. Cradling them in his arms, he turned and headed out.

Just as he stepped out of the basement, while he was about to take the books in his arms to his tent for safekeeping, a clamor of gongs and drums suddenly drifted in from outside the Graveyard Demon. The loud noise, mixed with boisterous shouts and strange laughter, shattered the surrounding tranquility.

Curious, Gu Su instinctively looked up in the direction of the sound. Unfortunately, his view was blocked by the Graveyard Demon’s walls, and he could only faintly make out a tall, paper-mâché citadel slowly passing by the edge of his city.

This paper-mâché citadel was exquisitely and impressively crafted. Its entire body was constructed from yellow and colored paper. The walls were printed with a regular, faux-brick pattern and adorned with beast sigils cut from gold foil. Atop the walls sat a row of small, paper-craft gatehouses.

Lanterns made of colored paper hung from the four corners of the gatehouses. When the wind blew, they swayed gently, their paper-cut tassels rustling. However, Gu Su noticed that a piece of Artillery, each of a different model, was mounted on every gatehouse.

Below the gatehouses stood numerous paper-mâché soldiers clad in armor tailored from colored paper, holding weapons folded from paper. Their stances were orderly, and though lifeless, they still looked quite imposing.

The clamor of gongs, drums, and shouts emanated from this paper-mâché citadel, creating a stark contrast with the surrounding silence and making it seem exceptionally lively.

"Go see what’s going on," Gu Su said nonchalantly to the Deceitful Tree nearby.

The moment he finished speaking, several White Crows flapped their wings and took off from the Deceitful Tree, flying quickly toward the paper city to gather information.

In just a few moments, Crow’s Caw flew down and landed steadily on Gu Su’s shoulder, reporting in a low voice.

"My lord, I’ve found out.

That is a Little City Lord who just returned from a game dungeon. He has accumulated some supplies and intends to sell them.

As is his custom, he’s circling Ghost Valley to advertise, hoping to attract nearby people to trade.

The trading will officially begin in about an hour at the small market on the north side of the valley."

"Oh? Something like that is happening? Then I should go take a look."

Hearing this, a spark of interest lit up in Gu Su’s eyes. His Graveyard Demon was lacking everything right now; perhaps he could find something he needed at the market.

"Did they say what they’re trading for?"

Crow’s Caw quickly replied, "The main currencies for trade are Gold Coins, Yin Qi, and various types of Metal.

Any other miscellaneous materials must first be exchanged for one of these three before you can trade.

Also, I’ve heard that the prices for these supplies aren’t high right now. The exchange rates are a bit low, so selling at this time would be something of a loss."

Gu Su nodded slightly and immediately summoned Bone Ash. He ordered him to bring the Treasure Chest Wagon and then loaded more than eighty percent of his Gold Coins into it, which would be more than enough for the trade.

After doing all this, Gu Su thought for another moment, then called over a Corpse Witch and Alice. Finally, he brought along Crow’s Caw, who was in charge of reconnaissance. Once all preparations were complete, he led the group out of the Graveyard Demon and headed toward the small market on the north side of Ghost Valley.

After leaving the Graveyard Demon, Gu Su noticed that several other Mobile Cities parked nearby had also received the news.

As long as their City Lords were present, they would come down to take a look.

After all, for someone to organize a trade with such fanfare, it meant that the paper-craft city must have acquired many good things in the last Game World.

Regardless of whether they could trade for anything this time, it was still a good opportunity to broaden their horizons.

After all, there were thousands of different Golden Fingers, and every player had their own unique opportunities.

Who knew what kinds of things they might encounter in the game?

Sometimes, those with a discerning eye and broad knowledge tended to live longer.
