The four giant Red Balloons, formed from the clown’s corpse, steadily pulled the Graveyard Demon’s main body from the ground. As they did, a dark brown, viscous liquid began to slowly drip from its foundation.
The liquid slid down through the cracks in the foundation, making a soft DRIP-DRIP sound as it hit the ground. It gathered in small puddles, emitting a faint, greasy odor.
The viscous liquid was what remained of the Oil Centipede corpses the Graveyard Demon had previously devoured. It was an extremely effective lubricant—viscous, yet not sticky to the touch.
Even without any external force, simply spreading it beneath the Graveyard Demon would allow people to easily push the massive structure by hand. It was a natural lubricating marvel.
While the viscous liquid dripped down, spreading into a smooth, oily film on the ground, a dense RUSTLING sound suddenly erupted from the spot where the Graveyard Demon had been rooted.
Following that, countless spherical stones of all sizes surged up from the ground like a tide, densely packed and endless, stretching as far as the eye could see.
The stone balls ranged in size from tiny marbles to massive Grinding Discs. They were dark gray with rough surfaces and completely covered the area beneath the Graveyard Demon. Mixed in with the viscous, dark-brown liquid, they began to roll and collide on their own, untouched by any external force.
Countless stone balls scraped and collided, creating a deep, rumbling noise that echoed like thunder through the vast Graveyard Demon. The vibrations made the ground tremble, and the sheer power of the sound was enough to make one’s skin crawl.
A moment later, the Graveyard Demon, held aloft by the four Red Balloons, slowly lowered itself. The movement was slight, but it landed precisely upon the sea of large and small stone balls.
The foundation and the stone balls fit together perfectly. The viscous liquid spread through the gaps between the stones, enveloping each one and forming a smooth lubricating layer.
Then, a bizarre and spectacular scene unfolded.
The Graveyard Demon swayed, its balance wavering for an instant before it began to glide smoothly forward. Its speed wasn’t high, but it moved without any resistance, like a behemoth held aloft by countless marbles that could be set in motion with just a gentle push.
The countless stone balls, coated in the viscous liquid, churned like a boiling tide. They rolled and surged madly within the slime, a dense mass of stones carrying one another along, their collisions creating a deafening RUMBLE.
From a distance, the entire Graveyard Demon looked as if it were being carried on a churning sea of stone. It resembled a mountain swept away in a colossal landslide, slowly advancing in the direction the stones were rolling. The momentum of the surging stones was like a stampede of wild horses, carrying the Graveyard Demon ever forward. The world itself seemed to tremble with the monumental movement.
At the same time, the earthen ramp connecting to the Graveyard Demon’s main gate—which the Undead used for entry and exit—was severed the moment the structure was uprooted and began to slide. A section of the ramp collapsed with a roar, crumbling into fine dirt and gravel. It could no longer function as a passageway.
Instead, the large trailer that Bone Ash and his crew had painstakingly dragged back was unexpectedly locked in place by the Graveyard Demon’s power. From the walls flanking the main gate, several thick, dark-green vines shot out.
The vines wrapped tightly around the trailer, securing it firmly outside the main gate. Then, the vines slowly adjusted the trailer’s angle, transforming it into a movable drawbridge that could be raised and lowered automatically.
The drawbridge made from the trailer was a very clever design.
When not in use, the vines would retract, pulling the trailer up to sit flush against the outer wall of the Graveyard Demon’s gate. This way, it took up no space and even offered a degree of protection.
When entry or exit was needed, the vines would slowly loosen, lowering the trailer to form a gentle ramp. It was perfectly suited for Gu Su’s Undead to come and go, making it practical and saving him the trouble of building a separate entrance.
Gu Su, standing before the Old Tent, hadn’t noticed this detail. All he understood at that moment was that the repairs to his Graveyard Demon were finally complete.
This was no time for other considerations. He made an immediate decision, ordering Crow’s Caw, who was on standby beside him, "Crow’s Caw, dispatch all the White Crows at once. Have them spread out and notify Bone Forest and the others. Tell them not to get greedy. Grab what they can, prioritize valuable resources, and get back here fast."
Crow’s Caw nodded at once, the ghostly flames in its eyes flickering. Wasting no time, it let out a hoarse cry into the air.
The White Crows circling above the Graveyard Demon responded at once. Beating their wings, they took to the sky and scattered in all directions, quickly relaying Gu Su’s order for the Skeletons in the field to make an urgent return.
Gu Su, on the other hand, turned and walked quickly into the Old Tent. As soon as he entered, a semi-transparent system panel automatically popped up before his eyes, clearly displaying several key pieces of information—the latest notifications about the Graveyard Demon.
[Your Graveyard Demon has been repaired. Quality has been upgraded to White. You have successfully bound with the Graveyard Demon. Your Level can now be increased. Level Cap: 10.]
[Upgrade conditions for the Graveyard Demon have been met. Do you wish to upgrade?]
[Graveyard Demon Upgrade Conditions: Area of 866 square meters (Complete), all buildings in perfect condition (Complete), one Level 1 Core Creature corpse (Complete).
3,000 Gold Coins, 3,000 Yin Qi, 100 Wood, 100 Stone, 100 Metal (Complete, and you may attach three additional items or special materials)] 𝑓𝑟ℯℴ𝓂
Finally!
Seeing the notifications on the panel, an irrepressible smile flashed across Gu Su’s face. The emotions he had suppressed for days finally erupted. He couldn’t help but break into hearty laughter, the sound echoing through the small Old Tent, filled with relief and joy.
It was already the fifth day. He had finally restored his bargain-bin version of the Graveyard Demon to a normal state. The Graveyard Demon could finally be upgraded.
’I’m no longer just some Game Worker who can barely survive, unable to even raise my Level.’
’Now I can finally say, with my head held high, that I’m a real player in this Game World!’
Once his laughter subsided, Gu Su calmed himself. He didn’t immediately confirm the upgrade, but instead became lost in thought.
’The system prompt clearly stated that I can add three additional items or special materials during the upgrade.’
’It didn’t say whether these items and materials would directly affect the Graveyard Demon’s Attributes and abilities post-upgrade.’
’But I know one thing for sure: when the game gives you an opportunity like this, you have to make the most of it. Wasting it would be a huge mistake.’
And so, Gu Su walked out of the Old Tent and quickly began to search.
