Chapter 1282: Judas’ Dinar

The colour of blood could actually be divided into many different shades.

For example, the blood in arteries would shine bright red with life, while the blood in veins would be darker. Blood that had started to coagulate would be tinted black.

The blood red of the dispatch was a very weird shade of red, as if the envelope had been soaked in blood and left to air outside, so the red at the top was lighter while the red at the bottom was darker.

The dispatch gave Sheyan an ominous premonition, like seeing a black cat the first thing after stepping out of the house early in the morning. He touched the dispatch with his fingers. Its texture did not feel like paper, but more like a piece of ice with numerous patterns on it. A stiff, mechanical voice then sounded.

“Verification procedures initiated. Please pay attention to the operating instructions and strictly adhere to them. Any operational errors will cause unpredictable and irreversible consequences.”

“The first step is to verify that the current environment is the target destination: Noah Realm C.”

“Please place this item in a spot where it can be in direct contact with the Realm. A countdown of sixty seconds begins now. If verification is still unsuccessful at the end of the countdown, this item will self-destruct.”

“Crap!” Sheyan couldn’t help exclaiming out loud, but a curiosity rose in his heart at the same time. He immediately left his private room and went to the hall where he could let the parcel touch the unique crimson inner wall of the Realm. The wall had the rubbery texture of a car tyre, but also the softness of flesh. He wondered what material it was made of.

The countdown had only begun for less than ten seconds when Sheyan touched the parcel to the slightly retracting inner wall. Multiple rays of light shot out of the parcel, forming the emblem of the Empire which pasted itself on the inner wall.

The mechanical voice soon appeared again. “The first step of verification complete. Looking for a safe area to unpack the first layer of the package.”

The parcel flew into Sheyan’s personal storage space of its own accord. After that, its surface began to move on its own. A lot of interlaced silver lines appeared on the surface, dividing the blood red surface of the parcel into smaller blocks like a Rubik’s Cube. These blocks rotated rapidly in different directions to reveal a silver coin with ancient patterns inside.

The colour of the silver coin was slightly dark. The patterns on it depicted a scale with a strong Western Asian style. Its lines were clear and visible. The words “1 Dinar” was written on the other side of the silver coin in ancient Assyrian.

The coin was hanging in mid air as if it was floating. The space around it was strangely rippling like waves. It looked as if it was not something from this world, and would break through the barrier of time and space to fly away anytime!

Sheyan tried to probe it with his Perceptive Sense. He immediately received some information.

[ Judas’ Dinar (Made in 32 AD) ]

[ Materials: Silver, Nickel, Judas’ Blood ]

[ Origin: All Earth-related worlds have the possibility of producing this coin. It can also be purchased from the mysterious store that will appear after reaching General-rank. ]

[ Rarity: Silver Storyline ]

[ Effect: Betray the contestant’s current Realm and transfer to a different Realm, under the condition that the new Realm recognises the contestant’s strength and is willing to accept the contestant. ]

[ Description: This is one of the thirty silver coins that Judas, one of the Twelve Apostles, received after betraying Jesus. It possesses a mysterious power because it is stained with the blood of Judas. ]

[ Side effect: If the contestant fails to be accepted by the new Realm after demonstrating their power, there is a high probability of this action being detected by the contestant’s original Realm. The contestant will face severe punishments, including not receiving any reward for completing the main missions for three consecutive worlds (but the penalties for not completing the main missions still apply), a 10% reduction in all attributes, etc. ]

[ Warning: Do not use this coin unless you have no choice, and unless you have enough confidence in your own strength. ]

[ Condition of Use: Sacrifice a dark gold equipment to activate this coin. ]

[ Evaluation: Judas, who betrayed Jesus, ended up being hung from a tree. Believe me, if you betray the Realm you belong to but fail to be accepted by another Realm, you will end up much worse than Judas. ]

The Dinar started to glow while its physical body slowly started to fade, like salt or sugar that was dissolving in water.

Next, a simple 3D model started forming in the air. Finally, the image that appeared in front of Sheyan showed a familiar figure: the assassin Ronnie! His data and attributes jumped out from his 3D model at a high speed and were quickly transmitted to Noah Realm C. Of course, Sheyan could not see the specific numbers.

The magic Dinar disappeared into thin air, but it soon popped out again. It was now coated in a layer of red glow. It fell back into the express parcel.

The parcel once again rotated like a Rubik’s Cube, and the mechanical voice sounded.

“The target successfully received Noah Realm C’s recognition. The second step of verification has been completed. The third step of verification initiated. Search in progress…. Detected the vital signs of a contestant nearby. If you are the intended recipient, Contestant No. 1018, please place your palm on this parcel to confirm your identity. If you are not, then please do not do so, or there will be unknown, destructive consequences.”

“So much trouble,” Sheyan muttered, but he still pressed his hand to the parcel as instructed. He felt a little electricity passing through his hand. Soon, the Nightmare Imprint on his chest flashed. The weird parcel floated up and gradually turned transparent, only the crisscrossing silver lines on its surface still remaining clear.

The crisscrossing silver lines were rearranged into a single silver line. Then, the parcel flew away and started sketching in the air like a brush. Finally, it formed a 3D projection of a human figure. It proceeded to sketch out the background environment, from simple lines to complex images, until the whole scenery was vividly restored and presented to Sheyan.

The one who appeared in front of Sheyan was Ronnie. He was a lot thinner than before. His chin was sharper and his stubble was unkempt. However, his eyes were still as poisonous and sharp as before. His clothes were all black, and he was even garbed in a black cloak. The cuffs were slightly folded up like a magician’s to avoid them from hindering his weapon.

Half his left palm was cut off, and only bone stubbles remained on his ring finger and little finger. Several cuts that had blood-stained edges could be seen on his cloak. Even one of his eyes had burst.

Ronnie appeared to be inside a lump of rotten meat. Numerous disgusting tentacles wrapped around his body. From the gaps between the tentacles, Sheyan could see that they were moving rapidly through space. Ronnie’s situation reminded Sheyan of a certain kind of anime.

But Sheyan knew at a glance that Ronnie was in an absolutely safe environment, because this was how Zerg Overlords transport Zerg units.

Ronnie rubbed his chin as he stared at Sheyan in silence. After a while, he said, “If the Imperial Express Delivery that I spent fifteen achievement points on still couldn’t reach you, it only means that I’m fated to die. Hello, team leader. I’m in a really bad situation right now. I’m reaching out to you because I plan to come join you.”

“How do you do that?” asked Sheyan’s curiously.

He did not get an answer because this Ronnie was just a 3D projection, acting in accordance with what had been recorded beforehand. Ronnie’s projection continued with a pale face, “When that bitch saw my custom-made Blood Weapon, she felt that her position in the party was being threatened, so she set up a trap and sold me out. They sent me to an area to scout, but what awaited me there was an encirclement of two enemy parties!”

Ronnie grinned wryly as he took out his x4 explosive hit damage Blood Weapon, a sharp shortblade. He caressed it slowly as he said, “Thanks to you, I managed to trade my Pi element ingots for some live-saving items. If it weren’t for them, I would be long dead by now. Even so, I was still forced into a corner, so I could only prematurely activate an inheritance trial which I have no confidence in completing, the Dark Templar inheritance, and finally won myself some time to catch my breath. But they still won’t let me go. If I don’t get any help, I’ll die sooner or later.”

“So, can you come and save me? Even if you don’t, I believe that based on my attributes, your Noah Realm C would still issue a mission to send others to save me. However, I still hope that you can come yourself, because you’re the only MT that has ever been able to completely convince me, be it in strength or wisdom. If you come, you will have my absolute loyalty!”

Sheyan also received the relevant notifications from his Nightmare Imprint at that instant.

[ You have triggered an emergency rescue mission: unnamed. Mission number: 28ACD1. ]

[ Mission Briefing: Rescue the high potential Awakener ZB419 and bring him back to the Realm safely. ]

[ Mission Hint: Because Awakener ZB419 is a deserter of his original Realm and has yet to contact this Realm, there will be additional dangers during the execution of the mission. ]

[ Mission Description: This mission is divided into two stages. When you come into contact with Awakener ZB419, plant the Nightmare Imprint Seed of Noah Realm C in his chest so as to generate a Nightmare Imprint belonging to this Realm. Complete this stage and you will get half the reward. ]

[ When you successfully bring Awakener ZB419 back to this Realm, you will get the other half of the reward. ]

[ Do you accept this mission? ]
