The Typhoon's Dangerous Wife

They rode home in silence. Like what Long Jie said they reached after an hour. The sun had set down and the Long Mansion was the only illumination Zhenyi could see in acres wide property. Long Jie clasped his hand with hers and entered the threshold of the mansion where they were welcomed by a long line of servants. 

"Young Master, Young Madam." The Butler of the house bowed respectfully. "Welcome to your home."

"I will announce your arrival to Master and Madam." The Butler left with a bow. 

After the butler left, Long Jie looked at Zhenyi and said in a very concerned voice, "Zhenyi, remember what I told you? Don't get out of my sight even for a minute. Tell me beforehand if you're going to use the powder room."

"Yes, Your Majesty," said Zhenyi, her voice lacing with naked derision.

"Please."His hold on her hand tightened.

"Fine."She finally agreed. She didn't know why he was paranoid in vain. It was not like this mansion could swallow her alive. 

"Jie Zhenyi." Long Shaoming came with Lily on his left.

Both of them greeted the elders with a bow followed by pleasantries. 

"Come join everyone at the dinner table. You are a little late for the dinner, son."Lily said with a smile blooming on her face. Her voice was so sweet that if allowed ants could thrive on that honeyed voice. 

"Pardon us mother. I believe as a newly wedded couple a little delay is excusable," spoke Long Jie in a very suggestive tone and Zhenyi had an urge to roll her eyes. She knew Song Lily was suggesting that on the first family dinner as a newly wedded couple, they were late and it was obviously her fault. 

Before Lily could say anything Long Shaoming smiled and said. "Absolutely." 

Long Jie and Zhenyi followed them to the dining room. 

He turned his gaze towards his wife and whispered,

"Remember what I told?"

"I do."Zhenyi had an urge to stomp on his feet. Couldn't he see she was not a five years old kid? 

"I'm serious, Zhenyi."His whisper turned solemn like his face. 

"Me too."

Zhenyi's gaze fell on many familiar and unfamiliar faces. First, they greeted Elder Long and his wife and after that everyone else. They took their assigned chairs. Everyone at the dinner table was chatting and laughing except one particular person. Long Jie's grandmother was scrutinizing Zhenyi since the time she had entered the room with Long Jie. 

Feeling a gaze on her, Zhenyi turned to find Long Jie's Grandmother staring at her with eyes full of trinket and scrutiny. Zhenyi gave her a small smile but it didn't get reciprocated. 

Apart from the grandmother, there was one more person who was peering at Zhenyi constantly. Liu Shishi. She had recognized Zhenyi at the wedding and only she knew how mad Chen Yuling was now especially after knowing her identity. But still, not many knew she was a Xin. Now Liu Shishi had more reasons to get rid of Zhenyi. 

Chen Yuling had gone hysterical. She wanted to get rid of Zhenyi at any cost now and Liu Shishi attended the dinner in hopes to get something against Zhenyi. 

"Grandma, are you still upset? " Long Jie asked his grandmother who was unusually silent. His grandmother was never a woman of many words but she usually asked him how he was doing whenever they met. He was close to her and was aware that his flash marriage upset her but he also knew she would understand like she always did when no one else did. 

"Upset? I'm heartbroken, son. My beloved grandson wedded without my presence. Do you even know how many dreams I have of your wedding? You cast me out of your life as a useless object, "His Grandmother, Su Mian spoke in an upsetting tone. 

"Pardon me, grandma. My intention was not to break your heart. You are a very important part of my life and you know it. But if I had not married in haste, this beautiful woman beside me would have changed her mind and you don't want me to let go of such a brilliant woman."Long Jie used the last resort. He wanted his grandmother to know how much his wife mean to him and she would understand his intentions. 

"You are still good with words, I see. I will forgive you if you promise to give me several great-grandbabies." Just like he thought, she understood what he was trying to tell her. And what was more important to her than his beloved grandson's happiness. If his wife was his happiness, then so be it. She would see who dared to mess it up. 

"You finally agreed that first brother is your favorite." Long Yuan grumbled to his grandmother. He was always a crybaby for attention in front of his grandmother. 

"I never said he is not. I'm not taught to hide my disdain behind my smile," the old woman spoke directly and whoever got offended could get all he wanted. 

Zhenyi had a hard time controlling her laughter. Long Jie looked at her and gestured as if to ask what happens. She just shook her head. The old woman was direct and blunt with her words and Zhenyi realized who she said those words to. 

"Mother, try this soup. Mrs. Liu specially sent for you, "Lily spoke to stop the old woman to speak any further. She was aware of the fact even if her mother-in-law insulted her in front of everyone, not even her father-in-law would come to her rescue. Because no one spoke before the old woman. 

"Why? The Long residence lack cooks now? "The old woman asked with a furrowed brows. 

  "Mom, you are still gullible like ever. Did you forgive Long Jie just like this? I'm his only aunt but I was not invited to the wedding.
