The Typhoon's Dangerous Wife

Inside Xin Yichen's study. 

Zhenyi was sitting on the chair, a glass of alcohol in her hand, and another messaging her aching temple as she watched her father scowling at Tang Yuzhang.

Well, he had all right to break down all the tangible things in the house, but he just preferred to scowl. Very well. At least one of them was sane enough to handle the situation non -violently because she had an urge to shoot anyone straightaway. 

However, the glass of whiskey was it currently. 

"Care for a drink?" Zhenyi asked casually. 

Xin Yichen gave her a look which said it was not good for her to drink alcohol but she just rolled her eyes in return. 

She needed one and so did he. 

"Actually pour for two," the answer came from Tang Yuzhang, who was looking as pissed as Xin Yichen. 

He occupied a seat beside Zhenyi while a servant poured drinks for them.

Xin Yichen grunted in annoyance. He was in a poor mood all morning. Coming to think of it, his anger started to surface since the phantoms of his cruel past appeared in his not so merry present. Right about the time the woman who he loved more than himself, even after more than a decade of her death, had written a letter for him, telling him that she had fixed their son's marriage with a girl who along with her family didn't have any inkling that someone with a face of angel and mind of the devil had arranged the wedding of their daughter many years ago. 

This was heightening his pissed mood even more. 

"Master Yuzhang, did mom ever talk about my future sister-in-law's family?" asked Zhenyi, half curiously and half-amused, but worry toppled both the forenamed feelings.

Tang Yuzhang pressed his lips in a thin line. Tang Reine had played him this time. 

Of course, he had no idea that the marriage was unilaterally fixed by her. If he had known, he would have at least talked to her, but then again, she was who she was and wouldn't change her mind. Moreover, if she had planned such a bizarre situation, there must be something to it. Something hidden from their eyes. 

  They just needed to see the bigger picture. 

However, where was the bigger picture?

"She indeed talked about the girl's family, but never said anything related to the marriage pact, " said Tang Yuzhang, messaging his temple. "  I was of the view that the mistress had signed the pact with that family. However --"

"However, your mistress played her shot again, Tang Yuzhang." The impatient voice belonged to Xin Yichen. 

Tang Yuzhang kept quiet, he had nothing to say. 

Zhenyi turned towards her father and asked a question that had been in her mind for a few minutes, but she was waiting for her father to stop sulking before inquiring. "Bà, is this family the same Ming family as Auntie Ming Jia's?" 

It seemed that the girl.who was supposed to marry Ryuu was from the Ming family. 

Xin Yichen nodded and went on to explain the whole situation to his daughter.  "It is, but Ming Jia's father had little or no relation with the Tang family before he married his wife." He paused for a moment and let Zhenyi sink the information in her head before throwing a heavier one. " She was your late grandfather's maternal cousin and Jie's grandmother is related to the Tang family as well. Both of them were close to your grandfather as he had no sisters.You may not know but there were no female descendants in the Tang family for many generations before the birth of your mother. So, when Ming Jia's mother married into the Ming family, her husband and your grandfather became close, but not as close as the main Ming family. 

Xin Yichen waited and Tang Yuzhang filled a glass for him. Quite a symmetry for the two hostile. 

After taking another gulp of the drink, he said  " Ming Jia's great-grandfather was the ally of the then King. He had contributed a lot then which increased his superiority among others and then he married the woman arranged by the Tang family, and from his marriage, he got two sons. Both of them, capable and enviable. As they grew up, people were of the view that the incredible Ming family will be scattered apart due to the growing animosity between the two brothers as both of them were more than capable and inclined to fight for inheritance but nothing of that sort happened as the younger son left the family position to start his own business. " He paused and then went one, "Though this step of the younger son caused a rift between the two brothers as people of such position used to frown upon the traders because they were beneath the aristocratic pedagogy. The second son was your Aunt Ming Jia's grandfather and the elder son was the bride chosen by your mother for Ryuu's great grandfather." 

"Bà, isn't it unusual for a mom to arrange Ryuu's wedding with that branch of Ming family when she is closer to aunt's family? Is there a story to it?" inquired Zhenyi. 

If Tang Reine wanted Ryuu to marry into the Ming family, she would have chosen Ming Jia's family as she was closer to this branch of the Ming family, but she didn't and it was quite suspicious to Zhenyi. 

"Why don't you ask your mother's loyal soldier about the back story?"Xin Yichen snorted. 

Zhenyi could feel another headache coming her way if her father insisted on behaving like a kid at this age. 

Tang Yuzhang ignored Xin Yichen's attitude as if he hadn't seen it in the first place.

He was back for his mistress not for his friend this time and he wouldn't be until he achieved what he wanted to. 

  "Miss Xin, the relations between the two families become sour when mistress helped Mrs. Qin, in eloping from the wedding arranged by the main Ming family," said Tang Yuzhang. "It not only soured the relationship between both the branches of the Ming family but also with the Tang family. They turned against the late Lord's decision of handing over the empire to the mistress as they had explained that she was unbridled and extremely wild." 

When they had said that Tang Reine was wild and unbridled, they were not wrong. She was born to her parents at a very late age and so she was spoiled and pampered beyond words which examined her vicious attitude and brazen personality. 

"Master Yuzhang, please if you are thinking that mom is trying to soften the resentment between the Ming family and Tang family by arranging Ryuu's wedding with this nameless and faceless bride, think again," Zhenyi scoffed. Hadn't she heard enough about her mother's personality that she would believe the nonsense Tang Reine was expecting them to acknowledge. " She was an extremely vengeful woman and she wouldn't bring a woman belonging to the family which once went against her, to her home, especially as her daughter-in-law." 

Both the men present there couldn't refute Zhenyi's words. 

"Miss Xin, that's what I asked my mistress years ago, but she just said 'do not worry about something that has yet to happen' and I never questioned her again." 

Huh. 

"What's the girl's name?" Zhenyi asked them. She had yet to know about her sister-in-law's name. 

"Ming Xiuying."

Zhenyi snorted. "Congratulations to my brother for getting a new flower to be decorated in his garden." 

"Zhenyi." Xin Yichen chided her. How could she joke about someone's name? 

"Come on, Bà, first Ryuu won't be easily convinced and even if he does for the wedding, he won't be very welcoming to his new wife. So, the beautiful Xiuying will be placed in his mansion as a beautiful flower in the garden like her name as a decoration piece. I suddenly pity the young girl who is going to marry my brother." 

"Zhenyi!"

Zhenyi zipped her mouth and emptied the glass in one go. 

"So, now who is going to talk to this Ming family about this not so anticipated wedding of the season?" Xin Yichen asked. 

All eyes turned to Tang Yuzhang who avoided their eyes as he said. "Well, there seems to be a little hitch." 

"What?"They said simultaneously. 

"The girl already had a fiance." 

Well, it seems quite fun.
