On the morning of the first day of the New Year, Chloe Winston’s house was unusually lively. Constantine Stewart gave each of the young people who came to pay their New Year greetings a big red envelope. After chatting merrily for a while, they knew that Chloe had just returned and that the young couple probably wanted some alone time, so they got up to leave.

As they left, they also admired the small garden and gave Chloe a thumbs up.

After sending off the enthusiastic neighbors, Chloe let out a sigh of relief and asked in surprise, "Why did you prepare red envelopes? And how did they know we were home?"

She had clearly been away for more than three months.

Constantine Stewart tidied up the dishes a bit, smiling faintly as he said, "I didn’t think you’d come back for New Year, but since your house is new, it’s not good to leave it empty for its first New Year. So I planned to keep watch here from the start. Everyone knows that."

So even if she hadn’t returned, the neighbors would still have come to pay their New Year respects because Constantine Stewart was there.

Seeing such a proud man interacting with so many unfamiliar neighbors and even cooking noodles and tea eggs for her, Chloe walked over and gently hugged him from behind, hoarsely saying, "Why are you so good to me?"

Constantine Stewart, born into a prestigious family, inherently possessed a noble and proud demeanor. Even during the most passionate moments of their newlywed life, he never let go of his dignity. Sweet words can deceive, promises can be broken, but a man’s pride is fundamental, especially for someone like Constantine Stewart.

He changed a lot for her.

Constantine Stewart’s lips curled into a smile, and his gentle, fair face became even softer as he laughed quietly, "As long as you like me this way."

Mr. Stewart, who had experienced countless setbacks in love, felt his heart blossom like a flower. He realized that in love, there’s truly no strategy; it’s always about having a sincere heart.

Chloe laughed lightly, hugging his waist and suddenly feeling a newfound confidence in their future.

"Are we visiting relatives today?" she asked softly.

"No, we’re resting at home today. Tonight, I’ll have the butler bring over the New Year goods for a feast. We’ll visit relatives tomorrow." Constantine Stewart washed his hands, dried them, and then gently held Chloe’s little hand, softly asking, "Do you have any relatives you need to visit?"

"I’d like to visit the orphanage to see the director’s mom." Chloe thought for a moment; there was nothing else.

"Alright, tomorrow morning we’ll first go to the Shaw Family to pay New Year’s respects, then to the orphanage, and in the afternoon, we’ll return to the Shaw Family for a meal. We’ll finish all the visits in one day." Constantine Stewart quickly arranged things. Besides the Shaw Family, there was no need to visit other families.

The Howard Family was a step removed from him; if Ignatius Leclair were around, he’d probably have to pay them a visit.

"Okay." Chloe nodded.

So the two of them stayed at home all day, one watching shows, the other accompanying, living the life of lazy people.

In the afternoon, the butler delivered a carload of New Year goods. Since Zheng Gu took time off to celebrate the New Year in France, the chefs and maids on Fulham Road were also on holiday, leaving only the butler on duty, so he personally delivered them.

The butler brought everything from New Year goods to fresh ingredients. Constantine Stewart easily carried a box of food into the kitchen, stuffed it into the fridge, and took out a lot of dried fruits and nuts to feed the young lady.

"Butler, stay here for dinner before you head back," Constantine Stewart said with a smile.

"Sure thing, Mr. Stewart," the butler agreed happily, then busily went into the kitchen to prepare dinner.

With the butler around, the couple couldn’t continue cuddling, so Constantine Stewart went to shovel snow off the greenhouse. Chloe, wrapped in a thick down jacket, went to help.

"Be careful, this frame is built with wood," Chloe, wrapped like a little winter penguin, reminded from under the flower trellis. Mr. Stewart’s heart warmed, feeling the young lady truly cared now. Then he heard her next sentence, "You must be around 150 pounds, right? Be careful not to break the flower frame."

Constantine Stewart: "..."

"Chloe Winston, so this lousy flower frame is more precious than me?" Constantine Stewart raised an eyebrow and mischievously swept all the snow towards Chloe’s direction off the greenhouse.

Chloe, covered in snow: "..."

"Ugh, ugh." Chloe spat out a mouthful of snow and said angrily, "Constantine Stewart, do you even know how to shovel snow? If I wasn’t wearing a hat, I’d be a snowman by now."

"I’m not used to manual labor; please bear with me, Miss Winston," Mr. Stewart, seeing her stomp her foot in anger and shaking off the snow in circles, grinned even more.

"Get out of the way. I’m going to shovel the snow." Chloe said as she was about to step onto the outer frame of the flower trellis, panicking Constantine Stewart, who quickly reached out to steady her.

Chloe, intending to take revenge, grabbed the snow-shoveling tool from him and shook the snow off the greenhouse all over him.

The two stood close, and all the snow ended up on their faces. Constantine Stewart held her expressionlessly, then wiped the snow off her face. Seeing that her eyes couldn’t open, he found it both funny and maddening. Then, with a serious look, he said, "Don’t open your eyes; your hat is full of snow."

As he spoke, he gently brushed the snowflakes off her and kissed her cold, cherry lips.

Chloe dared not move, afraid of falling. Even though the ground was covered in snow, if they fell and were injured, tomorrow’s news would be about a young couple recklessly kissing in mid-air and ending up paralyzed from falling off a flower trellis.

Chloe’s face was flushed red from the kiss. Fortunately, Constantine Stewart only kissed her briefly before letting go, smiling as he asked, "Still want to shovel snow?"

"You do it yourself." She climbed off the flower trellis and dashed into the house.

Constantine Stewart watched her retreat with a smile, then calmly resumed his work, using a hook to pull down the snow from all sides of the greenhouse, relieving the pressure.

After finishing, Constantine Stewart was sweating, covered in fallen snow.

He removed his jacket and shoes, went upstairs for a hot bath, and changed clothes.

Returning in his home clothes, he saw Chloe sweeping the snow that had fallen at the door, clearing a path.

"Ah-Chu, stop sweeping. It’ll snow heavily again in the coming days, and it’ll pile up again. Just leave one path clear to get out," Constantine Stewart called the young lady inside and warmed her hands, laughing deeply, "The Howard brothers are clamoring to come play mahjong. Should we let them be our laborers?"

Ever since Constantine Stewart mentioned on New Year’s Eve that they might hold a wedding feast this year, Alaric and Balthazar didn’t believe it. Taking advantage of the first day of the New Year when there were no relative visits, they insisted on coming over to play mahjong. Playing mahjong was just an excuse; they mainly wanted to see the excitement.
