Chapter 1158: Chapter 1185

In adult relationships, who remains desireless and unrequited for so long?

She’s a girl who’s always been rather proud, never the type to take initiative in matters like these. She’s been waiting for Caiden Ward to make the first move, and as he doesn’t, she starts doubting her own charm.

Yet now, with Maeve, he’s like a completely different person.

So intimate that she can’t bear to watch!

Rosy Harris takes a deep breath, considering how best to respond, when she sees Caiden Ward take off his coat and carefully wrap it around Maeve.

His coat is naturally large, covering Maeve’s legs completely; she sits quietly at the edge of the bed, and Caiden Ward bends down to pick up the sneakers beside the bed and personally helps her put them on.

Rosy Harris’s eyes nearly pop out.

If she hadn’t seen it with her own eyes, she wouldn’t believe Caiden Ward would serve someone like this.

He’s always been the one served!

Rosy Harris watches Caiden Ward’s profile; he smiles at Maeve, curving his lips as he says, "Done."

"Carry!"

Maeve says one word, stretching her arms towards him.

Caiden Ward bends to lift her from the hospital bed. Maeve wraps her arms around his neck and smiles at Louis Cox, saying, "Uncle, you go on. I’m leaving with Uncle Ward. I’ll come back when I’m better."

What can Louis Cox say?

He rubs his temples and says, "Got it. Listen well when you go."

"I’ve always been obedient," Maeve says, pouting in dissatisfaction.

Louis Cox can only turn to Caiden Ward, apologetically saying, "Sorry to trouble you; you have to take care of this girl again."

Caiden Ward smiles slightly, nodding as a response, and carries Maeve out the door. ⅇℓ.

There’s a chilly breeze in the corridor; Maeve is tightly wrapped in his suit jacket, revealing only a slightly flushed face, looking at him with a dazed expression – not at all like a child.

Rosy Harris is alarmed.

Caiden Ward, however, seems completely unaware, his expression joyful.

The three of them descend the stairs; he refrains from stepping directly into the rain but pauses, looking at the umbrella in Rosy Harris’s hand.

Rosy Harris snaps back to reality and opens the umbrella.

Caiden Ward walks more slowly now, seeming to accommodate her pace, but in truth, it’s obvious he’s worried Maeve might catch the wind, his concerned gaze fixed on her face.

With three people under the umbrella, it’s naturally crowded; Caiden Ward keeps pulling Maeve’s legs back in. Rosy Harris, afraid of dirtying her clothes, has to step back. As she steps back, the umbrella remains in front, shielding Maeve while most of Rosy Harris’s back gets soaked by the rain.

Of course—

There’s also a bit of intention in it, wanting to catch Caiden Ward’s attention.

Who would have thought—

Caiden Ward places Maeve in the back seat and walks directly out from under the umbrella, around to the driver’s seat.

He doesn’t see her rain-soaked back.

Rosy Harris closes the umbrella, pressing her lips, and opens the car door to sit in the passenger seat.

Caiden Ward begins driving, and she places the umbrella in a plastic bag she carried, then starts taking off her coat, revealing one completely wet side.

With their close proximity, Caiden Ward naturally sees it.

Rosy Harris keeps her face down, folding her clothes without a word.

He feels a slight pang of guilt, just about to speak when Maeve in the back seat suddenly leans forward, apologetically saying, "This sister’s clothes got all wet. I’m really sorry, it’s all because of me."

She speaks cautiously, with a hint of appeasement, and her hoarse voice makes her sound pitiful.
