Chapter 1148: Chapter 1175: Should Be Fine (5)

Mia knew last night that Camden and Windsor were in an accident, but because she was pregnant and it was late, Koa Jackson wouldn’t allow her to go out no matter what.

She had to take leave in the morning and come over to see them.

Who would have thought—

What is going on?

Camden, what are you doing?

She had already found out that neither of them was in life-threatening danger, nor did they suffer any irreparable harm; a period of rest would allow them to recover fully. Does Camden need to spend his whole life repaying this debt?

Not to mention his relationship with Windsor Myres, it seemed like Windsor and Daniel Davis had been progressing steadily?

Just as Mia was thinking about this, she instinctively looked up at Daniel’s expression. His face was naturally unpleasant, dark clouds filling his face, yet he remained silent, holding in his emotions.

Daniel was also hurt; his arm was wrapped in a bandage.

But Windsor asking about Camden as soon as she woke up had already challenged his limits.

The tragic scene from last night kept replaying in his mind. He already had an answer; no matter what feelings Windsor had when she did this, he could no longer marry her.

Which man in this world could bear to watch his beloved sacrifice her life for another man?

He knew himself; he wasn’t someone who could be magnanimous to the point of having no boundaries.

If earlier he could still accept Windsor having liked someone else, now, he couldn’t accept it no matter what. This incident would become a thorn, forever embedded in his heart. Every time he saw Windsor, he would surely remember, and the scars she bore for Camden would never disappear.

He regretted so much, regretting that he didn’t accept Windsor’s previous offer.

If he had accepted it, he would still have a reason to convince himself now. But precisely because he didn’t accept it, he couldn’t overcome this psychological barrier.

His gloomy expression slowly faded, and he looked at Windsor with complex feelings.

Windsor seemed to sense it, turning her head with difficulty to look at him.

Their eyes met.

Her expression froze in shock. As if frightened, she pulled her hand out of Camden’s grasp, but he didn’t let go, leaving her in a daze and panic as she looked at Daniel, her gaze filled with apology, difficulty, and pleading.

Daniel’s expression was fixedly looking at her. After a moment, he spoke to Max Turner, "Take care of her; I’m leaving."

"This..."

Max also felt extremely embarrassed.

Daniel said no more, turning around and striding out of the hospital room.

His expression was cold, not even greeting Mia or Koa Jackson at the door.

Behind him, Windsor immediately burst into tears.

Her heart ached, and she was confused.

Protecting Camden, sacrificing for him was almost instinctive, but she never considered using it as leverage to make Camden responsible for her. Moreover, when she met Daniel’s gaze just now, she felt immense guilt.

She had almost agreed to his proposal, but she understood what he meant.

Daniel might look gentle and cultured, but in reality, whenever making decisions, he was decisive and straightforward.

His turning away was an attitude signaling a breakup.

How could it end like this?

Windsor looked at Camden through tear-filled eyes, bewildered and lost, speaking hoarsely, "I’m fine, I’ve already woken up. You don’t have to do this, really, I wasn’t trying to make you repay me, don’t take it to heart."

She spoke with difficulty, her voice growing quieter.

Camden held her hand tightly, his voice also hoarse, "Windsor, promise me, okay?"

His voice contained a plea and yearning.
