Rhaevia remained frozen within the crystalline void, her breath trapped in her chest. She watched in helpless silence through the fading sight of her ancient self, suspended between existence and oblivion.

The world around her had turned silent, stripped of physical reality. There was no blood-soaked soil, no burning metropolitan ruins, and no desperate cries of surviving soldiers.

Only the slipping consciousness of a woman who had just delivered a fatal blow remained. She had struck down the colossal creature she had long believed to be her enemy.

Her vision darkened rapidly as shadows crept inward from the edges of her sight. Her physical body had already collapsed onto the broken stone below, limp and motionless.

A few meters away, the Zombie King’s massive obsidian frame crashed into the ground, its dark energy fading into stillness. Yet, despite the apparent victory, a profound wrongness echoed through her soul.

Rhaevia found her perspective shifting upward, floating above the battlefield like a phantom spectator. Her soul was detaching from her physical form, tethered only by a fraying thread of golden Sovereign light.

So this is death, she remembered, thinking in that distant, forgotten second. There was no terror in that final realization, only a bone-deep, ancient exhaustion.

She had fought until her body was entirely hollowed out, leaving nothing behind for the void. She had sacrificed everything to save humanity, or so she had genuinely believed in that moment.

Suddenly, a subtle shift in the surrounding space rippled behind her floating soul. A towering figure emerged from the endless darkness, stepping into the quiet void.

Brilliant silver light wrapped around his tall frame, veiling his features beneath a shimmering celestial mist. His presence was immense and filled with a strange, undeniable familiarity.

He approached her soul with deliberate steps that made no sound in the vacuum. He moved neither as a victorious conqueror nor as an enemy coming to claim a prize.

He moved as someone who had been waiting for an eternity just to catch her falling form. Rhaevia tried to speak, but her vocal cords no longer belonged to her spiritual form.

"Who... are you?" her soul whispered into the vast expanse, her voice barely a tremor.

The figure came to a halt directly before her, his obscured face turning toward her fading essence. He gazed upon her dying soul with an expression of impossible, crushing sadness.

"You’ve done enough," he murmured, his tone carrying a strange, reverberating tenderness.

Rhaevia’s spiritual eyes widened in shock as the words echoed through her consciousness. That voice had echoed through her past, yet its origin remained shrouded in fog.

The figure slowly extended one pale, steady hand toward her lingering form. Fine golden threads of cosmic energy erupted from his fingers, wrapping gently around her soul to shield it from decaying.

Her consciousness separated completely from her corpse, lifted high above the ruined surface of the planet. Far below them, the dead world continued to burn in silent agony.

The Zombie King’s massive body lay motionless on the shattered concrete, its dark presence extinguished. Suddenly, a soft, radiant thread of silver light emerged from the center of its chest.

The silver light drifted upward through the ash-choked atmosphere, floating steadily toward them. It moved with purposeful intent, rising like a forgotten prayer toward the figure’s outstretched hand.

The man caught the glowing ember gently within his palm, holding it close to his chest. It was a fragment of living consciousness, a lingering spark of the King himself.

Rhaevia stared in utter disbelief, her spiritual form trembling against the golden threads holding her.

"You..." she choked out, her voice shaking violently. "You were with it all along."

The figure offered no denial, remaining silent within the swirling mist of silver and gold. Instead, he slowly closed his fingers around the glowing fragment, pressing it directly into her floating soul.

An explosive wave of memories erupted within her mind the instant the fragment merged. She saw the pristine golden throne, the Second Sovereign’s cold rage, and the glittering crown she had cast aside.

She saw the grand sacrifice, the thousands of surviving worlds, and the Sentinel who had caught her falling body. Every fragment of her complex, multi-lifetime existence locked into place.

The True King had been present at critical turns of her long, tragic history. He had stood in the shadows, waiting patiently for the precise moment her soul would break free from its physical cage.

The figure raised his other hand, hovering his palm just inches above her forehead.

"You must forget," he whispered, his voice tinged with regret.

Rhaevia’s consciousness shuddered against his grip. "Why?" she demanded desperately.

"Because if you remember everything now, they will find you before you are ready," he answered softly.

Her fading soul went entirely still as a cold dread washed over her spiritual form. "Who?"

The figure’s expression hardened into stone, his aura flaring with cold silver light. "The ones who have hunted you across every cycle."

The warning echoed through the silent void, chilling her to the very core of her existence. Rhaevia finally understood the true nature of her rebirth across time and space.

Her reincarnation had never been a simple escape from her own suffocating power or a cosmic accident. It was an elaborate, desperate act of concealment meant to hide her spark from a predator.

She had hidden her soul beneath layers of forgotten lives, escaping an enemy that had searched the stars for millennia. The True King pressed his palm gently against her forehead, sealing the final layer of her past.

"I will send you somewhere they cannot reach," he promised softly, his energy enveloping her completely.

Rhaevia stared at him through the gathering darkness, her heart breaking for his eternal solitude. "And you?"

A faint, melancholic smile touched his lips beneath the veil of light. "I will wait."

"For how long?" she pressed, feeling her consciousness begin to slip away into the stream of time.

"As long as necessary," he replied without a single hint of hesitation.

Her soul began to glow with brilliant luminescence as the cosmic currents claimed her. The grand reincarnation cycle opened beneath her feet like an enormous, swirling spiral of golden light.

Rhaevia looked up at him one final time as the pull of the cycle dragged her into the deep unknown. "Will I remember you when I open my eyes?"

The True King slowly shook his head, his hand falling back to his side. "No."

"Then how will I know you when we meet again?" she cried out into the rushing wind of time.

"You won’t," he murmured softly, his voice fading into the distance. "But someday, when you hear my voice again beneath the stars..."

The gravitational pull of the spiral intensified, pulling her down into the darkness of a new life. "...you will remember."

The vision fractured violently, shattering the crystalline void into a million glittering shards of light. Rhaevia’s consciousness was thrown backward through space and time, snapping back toward the physical realm.

The ship’s automated interface screamed in high-pitched chimes, its blue holographic text flashing rapidly before her eyes.

As the holographic notifications faded, one final resonance echoed through the deepest chamber of her mind. It was not the mechanical system, nor was it the gentle voice of the True King.

It was something far older, a presence that had watched over her since her first awakening. It was the voice that had called to her before the golden throne, before the war, and before the Zombie King.

Rhaevia’s physical eyes snapped open on the command deck, her heart hammering wildly against her ribs.

"Rhaevia," the voice whispered into her soul, solemn and soft.

Her breath caught in her throat as a cold shiver ran down her spine. She knew that voice intimately, as it was the origin of her entire existence.

"My Sovereign," the voice murmured one last time before fading into silence.

Rhaevia stood frozen in Raevor’s arms as tears spilled over her lashes, the final truth settling into her heart. She had finally remembered the voice of the one who had walked beside her from the very beginning.
